Very cool, and I love your excitement. I don't know what I would do without my woodshop.
Having a close friend with a mill has been an absolute lifesaver to say the least.
But this....this has my curiosity for sure. Good luck. Can't wait to see er run.

Surpluscenter out of Lincoln Nebraska is a great place to get bearings, shafts, and pulleys. Enjoyed the video!

The powder in the inner tube is to keep the rubber from sticking to itself while the tube is lying flat. If it sticks the the tube won't expand uniformly as you inflate it on the bike wheel and could compromise its integrity. This project looks so fun!

The white poweder is actually talcum poweder, prevents rubber from vulcanisation when its not inflated and packed.

You can get free inner tubes from any bike shop, any size.

The white powder on inner tubes is talc. It helps keep the rubber from cracking and rotting too quickly. Essentially prolongs the useful lifespan.

The inner tube powder is just talc to avoid the rubber sticking to itself
    Great video thanks for sharing

It is disheartening that it is so difficult to shop locally.

Hi! Just started to make a band saw mill like you. For the moment gluing the base frame and is showed to really straight for the wheel mounts. About the wheels I was thinking to do exactly as you to get the flange bearings firm. Looking forward to see more of your work!

I thought your process was pretty good Brother i will say as aMonday Morning Quaterback i did think the Process you Chose cutting the Wheels on the Sled and Table Saw was a little to much Unsafe for me , i spent over 35 years in Commercial Architectual Woodworking Professionally and i have way too many freinds that have cut off fingers luckily for them e we’re close to the Baltimore Area nd JohnHopkins Oniversity and Hospital tht hve some seriously Awesome Hand Surgoons and my Freinds were lucky enough to get those Fingers reattached and Working again but that comes at a pretty steep Price Tagand along time of rehab and Recovery Every time those accidents happened it was always with. long time Journey Man and their response ws lways the same thing it happened so fast that they couldn’t beleive it even happened untill they saw the Blood and the ctually Damage Everyone always told me they weren’t sure if it was shock or what it was but it seemed tob th sa claire no matter who it was ? it a age now that i’m Retired due to. MedicalCondition and tht Conition is i’ve suffered a few strokes during some serous operations nd now y left hand is Prtilly Pralyed so i only have my right that is Fully Fuctional and i really don’t take any chances any longer risking Injury i have never been Bit by a Table Saw , some other Power Tools yes and i’ve done some nasty damage to myself with Chisels and Razor Knives Accidently Of Course i’m looking foward to seeing your Mill Completed and Up and Running

Why didn't you use a bicycle rime for the saw band?

    • @WyldeWoodworks
      @WyldeWoodworks  10 місяців тому

The problem you get with anything that is inflatable is that it's much harder to get your tension exactly right. Although people do it with car and motorcycle tires and they seem to work, most people who have done it say it's less than ideal.

@@WyldeWoodworks , I mean just the rime itself without the tire.

Bro pls use a splitter on ur tablesaw and a shoe. It doesn't even need to be your fault that a kick back happens and drags ur hand into the saw but without those safety features you increase the chance of u losing fingers or worse.

1750 motor will give you more torque also most bandsaws are 1750 for this reason.

The white powder inside the tires stops the bonding of other rubber other than just seam during vulcanization. What's a bearing? I dont think it will fit! They make them in different size? Your car tires ? Those are cheese!
