- Even the greatest artist get frustrated, if things don't work as they want.
I just wanted to upload this to show people who are new to art, that everyone can get frustrated while making art.
It doesn't matter if you are a professional who earns his money with his art or if you are a beginner, art can be frustrating.

*Gets frustrated*
*Stops drawing for over 5 years*
Honestly, same.
pfft
How about yoshihiro togashi 10 years worth hiatus

@@AlAensland thanks bro

Takehiko:raging
Everyone: omg thats so inspiring
HELL YEAH
It is at least for every artist, bc none of us expected him to be like us. Even though He is one of the best (in my opinion the best) mangaka who ever took a pen, he gets frustrated like us. It just shows that he is a human and we are not bad bc of this frustration.
lol I think it's because most of us feel that way when we reach art block or when things go wrong. What I do is that I close my iPad (I mostly draw digitally) and feel depressed for a few hours and come back a day or 2 later. Most of the time, I feel better afterwards. Also, looking at my previous drawings that I'm proud of reminds me that I'm not really a loser and I haven't 'lost my touch' lol
We know that feeling..
52 years old and look so youthful, thats awesome.
Well shit any farther out we may never see the end of the manga.
What’s with skilled mangaka looking youthful? There’s gotta be some sort of connection here
And just sparse bumfluff on his face
That's asian genetics for you
@@herpydepth1204 they be japanese
So inspiring to see even a genius like him so frustrated
So is a 5 year hiatus
@@cusswordsayer3558 the manga pretty much ended tho ... In a way , plus i think he came back to finish another
@@cusswordsayer3558 he’s back with “Real”
@@cusswordsayer3558 people like you really undermine health issues, recovering physically from health issues physically, and recovering from health issues mentally
Cannot imagine the pressure and the amount of energy and time that's required of a mangaka. Completely understand the frustration!
Every artist knows the frustration of not getting that picture you have in your head. The feeling of failing to transfer your feelings and emotions to paper is something that's no stranger to any artist, whether you're a newbie or a veteran artist.
It happens to everyone, even the best of us. But we never give up.
Unless you know and want to do something better, like mister Takehiko Inoue. Then it's fine.
100% man..
I animate a lot in my free time and there are so many scenes in my head that I wanna animate and I am thinking about how they gonna look, how I am going to do it if the scenes even work. And then when it comes to animate them, I just realize I can't do it, no matter how I try.
@@tailsinan2627 We all have that struggle, but never give up. We all have highs and lows.
And every artist is different.
@@Coffeehouse_Latte yes 👍
Omg youre right were all so special, lets jerk of on our specialness, we still special all in our own
@@jimpanse4216 Tf? You dont have to be good to call yourself an "artist". I also dont see myself as an artist and I am also not really good at the stuff I am doing but I am trying. It's about the frustration and to get better. Nothing special about it.
I hope he comes back off the hiatus & continues the masterpiece Vagabond!!
hope he will continue Real
So true ! He is such an awesome artist !
I dont think he going to writes manga anymore which is a shame because vagabond and real are such a masterpiece....
haahhahahahahahahahahah its been another year.

Mad respect him for picking that paper back up. Lord only know what I'd have done with it if I was was frustrated XD
Lmfaooo saame bra
ugh, so relatable. now i feel bad whenever i see artists go on hiatus. :/
@ken yuuki No true. He has assistants to do his BG
Japan's work culture is way too toxic, especially in the manga industry, its no wonder they get burnout and go on hiatuses after a while.
People that do art and take it seriously know this feeling. Art is hard and frustrating, borderline depressing at times. Can't blame Mr. Inoue.
Underrated comment by far.
Fun fact: frustration changes our hormones, forcing the neural pathways in our brain to change, which opts them more susceptible to make new and improved pathways. In other words, tasks that are easy don't change us at all. So we literally see Mr. Inoue preparing himself to improve to the next level!
Its kinda comforting to know that even masters sometimes get frustrated with their art
Relatable
He's one of the few bald dudes out there that went to the right path in life and didn't turned out evil.
UA-cam : Hey, you wanna sea takehiko get frustrated 3 years ago
Me: sure
The madlad never actually returned and Vagabond is still in hiatus to this day
Thats nothing, when im frustated at creating art, i jump into my bed and lay. Man inoue sensei has more toughness bearing it.
0:27 we can all relate to this part.
Literally
Enjoyment for us ; Exhaustion for him.
It can be extremely frustrating when youre proud of all the drawings you're making, and then suddenly one day you're stuck on the same thing for 5+ hours, unable to ever get it right.
Imagine being a fan of Vagabond in 2000 and still not knowing how it ends 20 years after
Imagine being fan of Slam Dunk for 25 years, and still hoping Hanamichi gets to play basketball again...
@@SKJ9Nrox Fr, Slam Dunk's ending was very incomplete. They introduced a lot of promising opponents that never had any development, and we don’t get to see Sakuragi's full potential. Hopefully Inoue will continue Slam Dunk after the new movie comes out
Imagine being a berserk fan
@@janizuka1922 Honestly I do really feel bad for Berserk fans. At least we know how the story ends, they just get like 2 or 3 chapters a year.
I'm very late to the party I just recently started getting into Vagabond, and hopefully I'll be able to collect Slam Dunk and Real, you guys have been fans longer than I have I've only been a fan for a month
To be a creator at his level is not easy. Hope he's always doing well.
When my goat gets frustrated , I get frustrated
That heavy sigh is so relatable
I like how there's 2 basketballs behind him signalling his love for the game
He made lots of it i think but real and slamdunk were the one who shine
He is a real genius but still a human.
I really admire him
When they ask if you're fine, but you're not fine.
It happens to even the best of em.
Throws paper on ground*
Picks it up again*
"Man FCK THIS SHIT!"
"just kidding. I have to finish."
If Musashi was a Sword Saint, Inoue is Pen Saint.
We all understand him :(
I laughed so hard when he threw the paper and picked it up and left it on the table.
I tried to take it serious, but it also made me laugh! 😂
He is still my favourite one. Such talent and originality inside his mind. Im sure every artist has similar issue that might take even decades to feel like comtinue it. Maybe never. But im happy that i got to read vagabond,i can only hope he finds inspiration once again to make a closing arc
It really makes me think about literally how much effort and stress manga creators put into their work. And to think after it’s all been said and done, they still get underpaid and then backlashed by so many people that hate their work.
Not low wages. Inoue has a tremendous income.
Japanese manga are paid royalties, 5% per book, over 100 million have been sold, and lots of merchandise has been sold.
@@user-gx9xf2zb6o only 5%?
@@TheSynking Isn't that enough? Because Marvel and DC artists don't get royalties. Because it is not an IP developed by an individual. Because it is owned by the company. It's a system where the comic is a hit and they don't get royalties. And the fixed wages are low. They don't receive income from merchandise either.
Mangaka gets huge money in royalties if he has even one success.
Even by simple calculation, Inoue's assets are more than $100 million in US dollars. Also, the Slam Dunk movie Inoue directed this year is a hit in Asia.
College students trying to finish their assignment at 4 am:
This just goes to show even the best artists and writers get frustrated and experience writer's block
No where near his level but I've been there with a drawing doesn't seem like you can't push through ,but mines usually with a damn flower, can't imagine what he was goin through
Good to see this is a universal artist experience.
thanks for uploading this
I'm definitely not an artist, exactly because of that feeling. I quickly get frustrated that I can't draw how I imagine it and give up. It's just kinda sad that actual artist get way too frustrated sometimes too and just stop, even though it's amazing what they do
Art is just so hard. when my drawings need more than 30 minutes to draw i always have mental breakdown its just uhhhh....
Even the gods get frustrated.
Proof that even super skilled artists are not machines.
The man trully burned out But he is back and gonna finish that manga
That's great to hear from my pov it's the best seinen ever made.
The art,story ecc...
It's even from a past real life situation
Must be perfectionism
Reading Vagabond gave me relief and incredible tension, now imagine creating it.
I can only imagine how stressful it is being the author of the 2nd greatest manga story ever written and drawn (right behind Berserk obviously)
@@talesofapre-sequel5647lol a lot of people prefer vagabond berserk isn't exactly number 1 there's Better stuff there but berserk fans can't accept that for some reason

Him slamming that paper...I never felt so seen.

My respect to him when he slammed paper on the floor and then immediately picked up 💹
It’s cool man 😭 take your time
In search of perfection anyone gets frustrated; this man makes the most beautiful works, but his search for perfection stopped him for 8 years.
O cara é muito bom apenas
Inoue após 8 horas sem ideias: Nós é merecedor de umas férias.
inoue depois de desenhar vagabond por 16 anos: nois é merecedor de um hiato
👍 pretty studio 🖤
Thumb looks like that one Radiohead album
And there, Vagabond never got finished.
you know i feel for him altho i havent read Slam Dunk or Vagabond its clear this man has alot of passion for his craft and wants to deliver best for his readers but as a long series ...like this one thats very succesful living up to you're fans expectations to deliver whats best. But this is what happens when you're so dedicated you feel the burnout and so on i mean you always need to find something new and keep it fresh but sadly in a manga about samurai ... the well will eventually go dry so ... imo he should have put it to rest a long time ago... (it's just my oppinion)
The life of a Mangaka 🤷🏿♂️
