Good points Jakey. Makes me think about the issue with wipe duration as well. Some folks don't have the time to play to even get to late game before wipe. Some folks get there in no time. More late content would justify extending wipe length for the casuals.
being a new player it really gets to be no fun when you have zero chance in a fire fight against all these kitted players with AP. My only hope is to get into empty lobbies....
If you're on Island be sure to avoid Research that's where most of the heavily kitted players are. Prison camp can be bad too. Lots of two and three man sometimes kitted teams there too. Hit up the lighthouse for guns and if you can get to it first radio tower and go straight to the roof into the room for guns and a possible GPU.
Wipes were for adding new content in a new cycle and updating the game. Also helps to test new features (in beta games) in a specific sample size such as wipes. This is why constant metas change and some features are added, removed, tweaked.
This is a GREAT take. We definitely need more end game content, though I still believe wipes should stay in the game. It’s basis for not only extraction shooters but other genres like Rust. It adds a refreshing restart and experience. But other than that, bravo on this video. I hope the dev team takes some notes. I personally think we need more maps like island, and most definitely an extension to the map with a higher player limit. With that, I would love to get more full servers and a leveled experience lobby so I’m not only killing nakeds
I think that it would be funny if instead of wiping all items at once items would just start to vanish little by little, so one day everyone would have to go into the raid without helmets or suppressors and the next nobody would have SMGs. Idk how people would feel about that but it’s kinda cool imo
Nah. From what I see, it's far from being a replacement. Besides that, Tabor isn't even polished enough to pass as *playable* without bugs, issues, or crashes that happen consistently. It's gotten better sure, yes it's in early access, but that's the point. Why is it that they're making 2 more games, when the first game they made that doesn't have a good foundation built for trust between the community and players? It's weird to me is all.

The best way to get rid of wipe is degradation. Where key cards armor guns and ammo degrade over time. Maybe 30 days for key cards and 6 months for armor, gun and bullets. The game can increase key cards , air drops or in game events, dlcs to keep it entertaining.

The one game that does wipes well is Marauders. They allow you to prestige to get more cosmetics and increase your storage. They wipe every couple months like usual, but they say it's for server stability or something so the new items and mechanics don't interfere with preexisting items. Marauders is also the only extraction shooter I know of that doesn't have ammo types, so a person with a mat49 can still do some damage against a person with an stg. This all ties back into some pretty terrible base game mechanics in both games, but tabor having luck based armor pen, three ammo types where two of them are basically useless, and filler weapons that are essentially only good in the hands of the cpu's make the game feel terrible to play through. I'm glad tabor has wipes cause about a week or two into wipe, the try hards all have ap and the best armor running around, while people with late starts or don't play that often are stuck with sks's and tier 2 armor that can't pen, have no range, and require so much more patience cause you can and will get one tapped by a bot and player. Tabor really just needs to figure out if they want to be hard-core mil sim like tarkov, or a more arcade-y shooter like COD and marauders. They're mixing the worst of both worlds, and ignoring what makes either of them great.
This game has a special place in my heart for trying to be the first VR extraction shooter, but a lot of people don't have enough time to invest into an extraction shooter like Tarkov or Tabor. It should be more arcadey IMO, but at the same time, making it too easy to play can make it very difficult. So finding the right balance would be good. (Similar to Marauders or Hunt Showdown)
