'Hannah's Meadow' looks stunningly beautiful and peaceful, and what a legacy for future generations to enjoy. I'd like to think that on peaceful nights (when "the moon shines on the water") and the soft winds whisper through the Dales, they bring with them the spirit of the once young and beautiful Hannah so she may once again walk through her precious meadow. Her beloved home 🌸🌻🌹🌼 She may indeed have lived a solitary life, at times lonely for her, but Hannah and her story has touched the hearts of more than even she could have dreamed of. I feel privileged to now know of her story, which has touched my heart deeply. RIP darling Hannah 🙏
I love the haunting, endearing tale of Hannah Hauxwell. I actually feel love and affection for her as a person and would love to have met her. I have great respect for her attitude in living and towards other people.
Omg they are beautiful ❤️. Make more more more for every season. I didn't know Hannah planted the meadow herself. I would love to go for a walk there if I ever visit England. Is there walk trails there or walk boards or something so we don't get lost. What a very beautiful place. I will definitely visit those meadows that Hannah built. In her honour. God bless her.
I never knew about Hannah till yesterday, I can't stop watching her life, thank you so much for putting this beautiful ladies way of life in my direction,
Hannah came into my life when my father died in November '20. Her books put so much in perspective for me. Such an amazing lady. Looking forward to finishing the book I'm reading about her at the moment. I'd love to visit here 💚
Hannah is there in spirit in her meadow.... In her beloved home... There should be a statue dedicated to her....for farming that was the traditional way...for generations that went before her... A true lady of the upland farms of the dales.... Bless you Hannah... Sleep peaceful in you're beautiful natural meadow....💖💕💟💞💓💝💜💛💗💗🐄🌺🍂🌿🌾🌈🌸🌻
I agree. There should be a statue to honour her. What a beautiful soul she had. What a kind lady. And she had dignity in spite of her harsh life in the Yorkshire Dales. I remember watching the video "too long a winter". We could see Hannah was exhausted. She deserved her more comfortable life at the end of her life. Mariethe from France
Hannah hauxwell was a beautiful lady and a kind soul who really didn't bother about material possessions but in her later life did live very comfortable off but really didn't care r i p Hannah hauxwell there is not many women today like you my grandmother Auntie and mum are all like you it do and mend like in World War II
I think the info is misleading. Hannah sold her property for a pittance and the new astute owners wasted no time in contacting the Wildlife Trust regarding the meadow, with an option to buy for a substantial amount. The Trust raised a substantial amount of money and purchased the meadow. She sold her farm with house, outbuildings, acres and acres of land including the valuable meadows, but barely had enough money to buy a tiny house in a village and have a little bit left over. She auctioned her belongings outside her home and people were bidding next to nothing. The programme makers filmed her for 40 years, making lots of money from the filming, but Hannah was still poor. Everyone took advantage.
When Hannah sold up her three outbuildings she got a lot of money from them also she had a lot of money to live the rest of her life travelled the world and her home needed a lot of Renovations done Hannah was a beautiful person who also wasn't stupid with money you would never get a woman like her rest in peace Hannah as you say you would love your ghost to be going around the land Rest in peace from Dublin Ireland
Just think: Hannah and her family previously, had cared for the land in such a way - unbeknownst to them - that was normal for our previous generations. If only modern day famers and government would push towards restoring the biodiversity of England!
