thank you for the explanation
Thanks for the video. Explained in very simple way.
I have one question.
Suppose value of both confirmed DTC bit & pending DTC bit were 1 in previous power cycle and there is no fault in current operation cycle, what should be the values of Confirmed and Pending DTC bit? Please answer.
Hello,
How can you identify if the DTC Status is Active or passive?
For eg: how can you determine 2b is Active and 2A is passive? Can you plot it on the 8 bit and explain how to determine if the DTC is active or passive
Thanks for the video, I have a question about DTC format. I would like to use J1939-73 DTC format to transfer DTC information by (0x19) ReadDTCInforamtion service. J1939 DTC format has 4 bytes, but the UDS DTC format is 3 bytes. How can I match the format. Thank you again
Good explanation but I need again brief about pending dtc , test not completed since last clear and test not completed this operation cycle?
Thanks in advance.
Hi, am trying to read dtc information with status mask 09, what would be the output of status mask with 09. Can you please tell me? (19 02 09)
Hey,
Could you help me. I should define a Diag Message: Read out all DTCs which are stored in the BCM and are
in UDS Status „test failed“ or „test failed this operatino cycle“
Good explanation..
Can you please make a video on COM module....
Sure
Hi @LearnAutomotive, thanks for the explanations.
I have a question about DTC availability mask byte of 0x1902. If I would like to filter only failed DTCs, I need to use 190201. I tried and got responses with only active failed DTCs. What if I would like to filter only stored (not active DTCs) anymore?
When requesting the stored DTC(s), we're meaning the old DTC(s), tested ones, so we will not take into consideration bit6 and bit4. So what should the final mask be when asking for DTC ? Is it possible to use 1902AF? I am a little bit confused. I would appreciate if you could reply me.
The status mask is a bit codded byte where each bit represents the following:
bit0 - Test Failed
bit1 - Test Failed This Operation Cycle
bit2 - Pending DTC
bit3 - Confirmed DTC
bit4 - Test Not Completed Since Last Clear
bit5 - Test Failed Since Last Clear
bit6 - Test Not Completed This Operation Cycle
bit7 - Warning Indicator Requested
Sure I ll reply with my explanation
@@learnautomotive7875 Great! Thank you again. Will you reply here or will you make another explanation video related it? This channel is really great for automotive engineers.
When we use sub function 02. In this case you got a DTC (1A2B3C) and its status. What if there are more than 1 DTC in the system??...
If we have multiple DTCs we do get all the DTCs with their own status bits
Nice session. Can you please make video on freeze frame?
Sure
How do you undo the test failed bit?
Hi, Thanks for the video.
After conformed DTC is set, if the fault is cleared(passed) what will happen? Will the conformed DTC be cleared?
Yes there won't be any bits set obviously no DTC presents
@@learnautomotive7875 thank you
what happens if the DTC not triggred . what is the our next approach of this issue?
Sorry for the delay, if dtc not triggered then it may not mapped with the fault. You need to check with DEM Event document if it Autosar project. If non autosar then you need to check the failure documentation whether the dtc is mapped or not
Hi, I have a doubt. Without any DTC what will be the status mask value. Could you please clarify the same?
Without any DTC Status mask request will recieve null DTC status..
If may be 0x00 or 0xFF ( Implementation specific)
@@learnautomotive7875 thank you😊
@@bhagavathaganapathi930 if you need more inputs u r always welcome to post
WERE IS THE PART-4 I CAN SEE PART-5
Please post the Video on 0x1904 and 0x1905
Done
Additional dtc information mention a code with info mentioned
Last Test:Not Run This Ignition: Not Run Since
Clear:Passed
What this means ?
Status of DTC is 8F...how 8F relates with status bit of DTC ??
Will give you reply shortly
@@learnautomotive7875 please reply ASAP even I have doubt on dtc status mask and availability dtc status mask
@@learnautomotive7875 waiting for your reply
In this video they didn't explained but i will do for u 8F is hex value converting to binary means its will come like 1000 1111 bit0->1 Test Failed
bit1->0 bit2->0 bit3->0 bit4->1 Test Not Completed Since Last Clear bit5->1 Test Failed Since Last Clear bit6->1 Test Not Completed This Operation Cycle bit7->1 Warning Indicator Requested/MIL on So this is the information of 8F
