I've been using these on my last 3 SG's and they DO work against buffeting. Surprisingly, they're more efficient than hard lowers! Ugly but so worth it!! If you also add a good "re-curve windshield and triple tree wind deflector, you'll be riding in comfort for hours without the wind beating you to death.
I put them on my '05 Electra Glide Standard along with the inside triple tree wind deflector. They do work and I personally liked the look. I don't have those problems with my '17 Limited now.
I've had them on 4 police bikes and currently on my 2017 FLHTP. They work great PERIOD. Good choice. These are redesigned over previous generations. The older style had angles and weren't curved like these but either style cuts buffeting a bunch.
Bikes with wide fairings create this buffeting more than a windshield. The best way I can describe it is a fairing creates a pocket of air around the tank area and when the wind passes by that pocket of air it rushes up towards your helmet creating buffeting. The deflector will push the wind wider so it doesn't rush into that void air pocket. You probably won't notice the difference until you reach highway speed plus you already have the deflectors on your crash bars which kinda do the same thing but these will still improve it. Jon as you experienced on the KTM 1290, adventure bikes deal with this issue more effectively because the design of most of the fairings don't allow air to come up around the tank (leg protection) I've had great success with these on several bikes. You'll be able to have a lower windshield because of their effectiveness. Sorry for the long comments... Like your channels boys!👍
I just finished watching John's video of him coming to your place while you were doing this and it's like you listened to me, John totally walked through video, awesome video, I might have to get those reflectors for my 18 Street Glide Special, hopefully they have them in smoke or black, cheers, 😎😎😎
You should also get triple tree wind deflector, the round concave piece thats assembled underneath the neck area, for the same purpose. You will then be bulletproof.
I’m curious to know if it pushes the wind off the side more. Maybe keeping more off your knees/legs. Lmk when you guys wanna venture out to Long Island!
You should use the blue loctite on the bolts anytime you take something apart on the bike. Essentially if your using the tight enough torque method. I have them on one of my bikes a 2001 Electra Glide they work on the highway no difference around town.
In your opinion, what helped buffeting the most? + order of importance? Freedom Shields windshield, fork wind deflectors or faring air deflectors? How tall are you? I’m 6’0” and considering the 8” windshield. Thanks‼️
Thanks for responding. I sent the fork, faring and lower triple tree deflectors info all to my wife as Xmas gift options. Going “Amazon Special” for all 3. Riding bike to Freedom Shields shop next week to demo windshields in person. Make sure I get the right height on the 1st try!!!
Great video you and John make a great team I’m looking forward to your thoughts when you’re able to ride and give us the thoughts on the wind Deflectors
Have you tried looking into DK Customs they have a tank lift it raises the front of your gas tank and rear if you want depending how much you choose can be anywhere from 1 to 3 inches and a lot of the wind goes under the tank keeps the engine cooler and less wind goes up towards you I put the inch and a half on my softail and it honestly made a big difference and the engine temp dropped by 20 degrees it’s really inexpensive and awesome quality from them they have awesome customer service! give um a look they got a lot of parts
@The Missouri Piper it will only have a big change if you use the biggest lift but with mine it changed it a little bit and in all honesty I think it looks better. It’s inexpensive but it can have an impact on looks and cooling and you can clean the tops of your rocker boxes so for me personally it was great all around. It’s also really quick and easy to install or remove and they have different pictures of the heights on their website to give you an idea. I hope this helps have a good one!
Interesting. On the road king and heritage those fork wind deflectors have been used for years with good results. I’ve never seen them on the fairing touring bikes though. Are these made for the Electra/SG/RG bikes?
the pros and cons of the wind deflectors. PROS they work great for helping with the updraft wind and road dust/bugs ect. into the eyes, The CONS the engine does not get all the air for cooling but the deflectors are worth it for eye protection, your set up is similar to mine. I keep the wind deflectors on year round and remove the lower cloth fairing in the summer. Deflectors are well worth it
You did the Vance and Hines FP3 install a while back. Just wondering how you like the results and if it made a noticeable difference in power, or throttle response.
Jerry, I have the V and H3 on both my bikes. You can adjust throttle response, and fine tune your bike. However theres things on it that you dont want to touch unless your a technician, and know exactly what to do. You can also get rid of the liminater that governs the bike to 110 mph. Great product, and worth the money. Saves you from having to spend the Harley bucks at your dealership to have it flashed every time you up grade.
klock weks flare windshield reduces buffeting and salso puts 15 lbs downfofce , acts like a spoiler on a race car great for highway riding , best upgrade i ever bought.. World land speed record holder used a klock werks flare windshield.
I had these, probably a different manufacturer on my bike. I could not keep them from rusting so I tossed them. Lesson, spend the money for the best chrome. I don't really need them now that I have moved to south Texas. Close to the Gulf, things rust.
Black plastic would b lighter and prob look a lot better, if they work you'll prob love em, u def notice the small things on a long road trip out on the freeway cars all going 80mph at the least. Its like a nascar race out there.
I put these on my bike, give it quite the look. I dont believe they really do sh-t though. I do like em a lot. 4 nuts to remove for install- a blind guy could do it ffs.
Had a set of those on my Road king and they definitely work, cut the buffeting down to almost zero. Just wasn’t crazy about the way they look. Ride safe gents! 😎🍺
No dude don’t be that guy. those are the ugliest things you can put on your bike and remember you’re on a motorcycle you are going to get some wind stop trying to get rid of every speck of wind otherwise you may as well just drive in a cage
Hello, I am the manufacturer of LED headlights and like your video. I really want to have an cooperation with you. I have sent you the message via email. Looking forward to your reply.
This is the video that saved my Street Glide, fork deflectors and a Long Ride Shield and my bike is a dream to ride now..
Happy to help !

Have had them on a Road King Classic for years. They work great.
Thanks for the great video, I just put a pair on my 06 EG and at first thought they wouldn't fit, turned them around and heck yeah 👍
They look really cool . The black & chrome come together 👌🏼 .
Love the video and so cool that you’re a commercial pilot!!!😎
Thanks! 😃
I put them on my '05 Electra Glide Standard along with the inside triple tree wind deflector. They do work and I personally liked the look. I don't have those problems with my '17 Limited now.
Do they effect the air flow over the motor very much.thanks
I took mine off because of noticeable engine heat, 2021 FLHR going to a tank lift with wings
Good idea if they work for sure! Cool special effects with the snow sandy ! And it’s time for another. Head shave ! Growing fast man!!!!! 😎💪🏽
Hair grows fast- but in very limited areas 👍🏻 😆 LOL 👍🏻
I've had them on 4 police bikes and currently on my 2017 FLHTP. They work great PERIOD. Good choice. These are redesigned over previous generations. The older style had angles and weren't curved like these but either style cuts buffeting a bunch.
I am thinking of putting a pair on my 14' police edition, your review is tipping the scales, do you have anything else to add.
i have them on my road king, what a change they make in wind.you'll love them
I'm sure - I'll try them out soon - after the snow storm....👍🏻 😆 LOL 👍🏻
this video helps me with deciding to buy these deflectors but your coffee of choice hurts my heart. ride safe.
Haha 😂
Looking forward to the results of the test ride. Keen to reduce buffeting that I get, so eager to see your on-road results.
Next ride... results
Thought about adding for fall rides here up north Michigan.
Nice Video Sandy, and agree with Anonymous Biker USA on both fronts! Great effects on the snow and time for another shave, gotta keep it tight!
Lol

I have a Road King. Always wondered about those things. Thank you.

Yeah like driving in a car 👍🏻 😆 LOL 👍🏻
Looks great , i love chrome on harley , just add a touch of chrome trim on the front fender and you will see how beautiful it will look
Chrome and black - that's the way to go!
I’m curious to know if it pushes the wind off the side more. Maybe keeping more off your knees/legs. Lmk when you guys wanna venture out to Long Island!
Hey it’s starting to look like your turning your bike into a Two wheel Car.😆 thou it looks Awesome!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Weather they work or not, they look really good. I like them.
I like them too !

Thanks- I can’t wait to try it out next few days...I’ll update
Does anyone know if they will hit the lower fairings on a street glide. Have some advanblack ones
My don’t hit
Iam guessing they push the wind down to the ground
Did you have any problems to connect a USB charger to the ligther port in your motorcycle in mine alway get fried in 2 seconds
I had a USB charger integrated in my radio install - no problem
I thought you edited the part when John walked in front of your video, glad you kept it. Let us know how well the reflector works.
Will post a ride video with the fork deflectors conclusions and thoughts.
Polish called Autosol , you can polish your aluminum fork legs and make them look like chrome forks.
Looks good Sandy
As you go in your front door looked like a great place to park your scooter and should be a lot warmer
Do you think better the fork deflectors or the extra batwing ones? Considering to have the Klock Werks windshield on.
Fork deflectors
Sandy, you said to tighten the bolts 14.6.... but 14.6 what? NM or FTLBS? Bought some fangs and cant find this info anywhere.
I was joking with the 14.6 …. I don’t know what the torque specs are…😀👍🏻
@@HOLYSHIFT 😡😡😡😬
Yo,yo I’m looking to get those keep us all posted thanks for your input🙏🥊

Put those on my road king a year ago. Stopped the head buffeting! I can read signs at highway speeds now.
Thanks - I’ll take the bike out tomorrow for a test ride
I have them on my Electra Glide Classic. I like them.

I have those on my 2002 electra glide
I think Barbercvo19 has them on his street glide...looking good
Yeah he does. I like the look 👀
You should like the results, no more buffeting coming up from under your tank.
Looks sweet!
I agree ☝🏻🙏🏻

Buddy, where you been? I can't remember, did the fork wind deflector work? Hope you are well, sir!
Hey man - doing well. Been away for a while at work. Didn’t get to ride lately- never got to review the fork wind deflectors - soon to come. 💪🏻🙏🏻
@@HOLYSHIFTlooking forward to it, sir!
And, just so you know, your videos are great and don't necessarily need to involve a motorcycle👍✌👍

Definitely makes the front end look more beefy

I am surprised you didn't bring back European Nescafe.
