Several thoughts about this pandering to the Saudis for startup investment money 1. Adam Neumann did not even say what his new start does. 2. Has Saudi Arabia even had even one successful startup company in the past? 3. Neumann is a truly charismatic founder and has had great success in raising funding from the Sauids through SoftBank. 4. Horowitz and Neumann not only want cash investments for Neumann company but for all of their other startups.
Adam Numan is one of the most successful conman of our lifetime. I still don't get it how he is roaming around with all the cash he earned from the failure of wework!
Crazy how talented Adam is at including the buzz words he has heard "in the last 24h" into his speech. Also he uses his failing at WeWork as a background story. It almost gives his on stage persona some vulnerability that makes him more trustable. There cannot be many investors out there who fall for his storys but he is great at convincing the few that enjoy his storys.

Adam talks about "community" yet what happened to the "community he created" at WEWORK? This was done in the 1970's where they had "only singles" apartment buildings. A fad that disappeared by early 1980's. NYC has like 9 million people living close to each other and no one really knows or wants to know each other.
@@gilrose12345 Great point. The entire goal of this presentation was to suck more money out of the Saudis who are very rich but terrible investors. Doesn't Marc Andreessen know that the Saudis do not like people like Horowitz and definitely Neumann? However this guy Neumann is very charismatic and he knows his reputation has been damaged in the America.
@@davidr4523 Reminds me of 1934 and the night of the long Knives when Hitler killed some 700 SA officers and everyone kind of looked the other way. These Kushner like sell outs will do anything for the mighty $$$! It will end badly.
AI as a tool: Mark Andreessen does it again, I stated too much fear around AI too early. It is just getting started and it is a tool that will help improve our lives and very material ways. It is a lever.
Funny how they had to justify the investment on Adam. He should add a third point, in history nobody has destroyed more shareholder value than Adam, from $47 billion to 517M right now :)
Its amazing to watch people talk so much but say so little. Or maybe I'm just confused. I don't really get how a company that stands for "bringing people together" will solve the global housing crisis that is actually just a spiritual problem? It seems like these people are courting the Saudis because as money gets more expensive here in the United States, this type of nonsense marketing becomes much less palatable. Like for anyone to invest in whatever Flow is, money needs to be basically free. lol
Saudi is making the right moves. They have so much money clearly they are very influential as an A16Z LP. I hope the government can deal with criticism and a more open culture.
Sounds like they’re kind of giving up on the US. VC is upstream of new innovations so this a worrying trend. But it’s understandable when they can make progress so much faster.
The more I've learned about Marc Andreeasen, the more I've lost respect for him. His fomoing into crypto nonsense and now burning his money funding a charlatan, sure hits the final nail in the coffin.
most of these silicon venture capital bros got so lucky in the 0 interest rate environment throwing money at tons of startups striking on a few big ones, their idiocy has been completely exposed these past few years and will continue to be as long as he stays in his bubble and refuses to adapt.
It must have been hot in that auditorium from all the hot air coming from that stage. Waffle, platitudes and nothing about the business. PR and warming up potential investors in the region and a friendlier audience than closer to home.
every single customer in your port co was a customer of his because they were giving your money to your port cos in the form of free beers in the common spaces.
Right. WeWork was burning money to create revenue by renting finished spaces for a fraction of their freemarket prices. OF COURSE your startups you were funding were housed there. DUH.
interesting that SV, after forcing talent to relocate there as a condition of their providing funding...now proclaim they are the visionaries to export their ideas to a "location near you"....when brilliant people have always been local. SV always forced the move... and founders who would not, could not, move... were just forgotten and flown over by these coastal elite. And as far as flow/ rework founder, clearly everyone seems to be hoping for a redo after the hit to their credibility, after that flop.As far as redo deals... they rarely -if ever, live up to their (re)hype
Made no sense to me.. what is this whole talk about? Obviously they want money for Flo, but what is it? They're definitely role models for me. If they can sell air for billions this way, then I can sell too!
Haha, comments have been so negative which is a great sign this business have a chance to succeed. The same happened with Uber and AirBnb with many smart people saying "this business is stupid and will not work".
That’s because it doesn’t work lol. Both companies are nearly 10 years old yet neither companies have made a profit. The only winners were the early investors.

these guys have no shame. they will sell off america without a second thought when they get money. what a disgrace this bald fucker is.

Halfway in and I’m thinking this is just a big pr exercise to sell their idea to the world

Still have no idea what Flow is besides it will only happen in Saudi. But I got all warm and fuzzy about whatever it is and that’s all that matters.
So wait… what does Flow do??
Was about to ask the same thing 😅 how to produce some wind effectively ! Just let Adam speaks about his projects…bullshit at its best
Doesn't matter, just give your money to a charlatan
How is Adam still invited to these talks? He caused some massive PTSD in his former employees.

This is great news. Flow would have made the rental market even more expensive and would have priced out people who are already struggle to pay rent.

So... Softbank was the last mark. Who is Adam's mark this time?
Adam is like Kato Kaelin, or Ralph from the Howard Stern show of Silicon Valley.
