I just wanted to say, in case someone had the same problem, that if you have temporary admin privileges you choose as folder to install nvm, one that you can access usually.

For those who have problems downloading Node versions in the terminal, just download the version in .Zip format, unpack it in the NVM folder and just rename the folder with the version name, like this 'v22.3.0'. And after that, the NVM will recognize the Node version with no problem

i had a problem , i installed nodejs ver 17.0 before install nvm and then im using nvm install other version is 12.20.1 and type "nvm use 12.20.1" but that not working for me , node -v still using 17.0 ? where i did wrong ?

thanks! i thought it you downloaded the version via executable , the nvm detected it, but no.
You actually need to install (via nvm install latest), so you can install the earlier versions (for example nvm install 16.20)
