- This week's Inspiration Friday project was inspired by one for my subscribers. She asked me the other day if I could make a tutorial on a reversible neck gaiter mask for her. So, I went to work and determined how to alter the original tutorial to make a reversible gaiter. This tutorial will give you detailed step by step directions to make your own reversible gaiter.

Thank you for sharing your tutorial, your instructions make it seem easy to sew a gaiter. Also thank you for not having any music.
That was a very good suggestion that the person made. Thanks for sharing again. Love it.
Thank you so much for this tutorial video. You are so relatable and your instructions are very easy to follow without all the unnecessary dialogue (which tends to confuse and lose me). I can honestly say I've never subscribed to anyone's page after viewing and instructional video just to get the basics what I need, however I did hit the "subscribe" option after only a couple of minutes into your video! I look Forward to more of what have to share!
Also, can you show us how include a nose wire and filter pocket on a reversible gaiter?
I love this gaiter! I'm wearing mine to work today. Here is an idea can touching a nose wire & filter pocket to these. That would be great :)
Thank you for sharing such an easy to follow video! I was making a pattern from another blog and made it too small because the instructions weren’t clear. There were too many options in one set of instructions. Again, thank you!
You are so welcome!
Can you please make a video on how to sew a filter pocket into the gaiter? Love your tutorials.
Crystal Evans thanks for the request! I sure can. We are on vacation this week so can I ask for patience in getting it done but I will do it for you!
I would love to see a looser fitting gaiter mask covering :) I know you still need to have it fitted around the face. But, I would love when it's not up around my face to be looser. It would be more comfortable to have around my neck at work. Thanks
Katherine Lewis I have another video for a Gaiter with ear loops that might work for you. Here is the link. ua-cam.com/video/Bo-fOna1hQI/v-deo.html and this week I will have a tutorial on a neck scarf that you might like.
Hello, I did try the gaiter with the ear loops. It fit pretty good. I would still love if you ever have the time for a looser fit around the neck. Look forward to seeing more mask & gaiter videos. I do appreciate your videos.
I am trying to make neck gaiters for my grandsons, ages 8 and 10. I was wondering if you might do a video on how to make a neck gaiter with ear loops. Thinking for children they might stay up even better. I have seen neck gaiters with ear loops to purchase but I would rather try to make them myself. I love your channel, thank you.
Debi Beadle I will test one out with the loops! Thanks for the idea!
that would very nice ,I would like to know how to make one ear loops too
Debi, I just posted a tutorial on a gaiter with ear loops. I hope you like it and thanks for asking me to do it! Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/Bo-fOna1hQI/v-deo.html
Can you please show us the tshirt style? It looks so easy
Lisa Rickards do you mean making a Gaiter from a t-shirt?
so you are using a 4 way stretch? I have a 2 way so I think I need to reverse cut so the stretch is going around the head?
Yes you want the stretch to go around the end!
I think you are wonderful is what I think. Good job also!
I love this. Will it accommodate long dreadlocks?
Boitumelo Oliphant you might want to add to the width to accommodate dreadlocks!
Could you tell mr what stretch setting to use on my babylock serger
I just used the default settings on my serger.
love it .thanh for sharing .nice to meet you like
I have no idea how I messed up making the original gaiter. I had the stretch going the right way, but when I finished it somehow the stretch is going the wrong way. Help
Before you start sewing your first seam make sure your stretch is going the length of the fabric and not the width. So if you have two piece of fabric that are say 10 x 18 the stretch needs to go with the 18. I hope this makes sense.
@@FunstuffcraftsLisaWelander this will be easier, I was making it 18 x 18.
what are the LXW measurements
DOG POV their is a size chart in the description box below the video.
@@FunstuffcraftsLisaWelander Thanks, I purchased one off Amazon and its so long that its annoying to wear bunched up on my neck. Yours looks like it would be shorter, more comfortable to wear down so I can keep it on when im out and just pull it up when i get in a store that requires a mask
Hi there, What would the measurements be if I wanted the neck gaiter to be longer? Thank you!
Sheryl Rubin if you are making a medium size I would start with 18x 24 that way when you make the first fold your length would be 12 inches. Make sure the the stretch is the 18 inch direction.
@@FunstuffcraftsLisaWelander Thank you! I tried similar dimensions a few times, but it didn't come out right. After sewing the first long edge with stretch going horizontally, I tried it on without sewing the second edge and it fit fine. After sewing the final edge and pulling through the two inch space, the stretch was in the wrong direction, going top to bottom, rather than side to side. I cannot figure out what i'm doing wrong. :(
I should say this actually happened with the one continuous piece of fabric (your original video), rather than this reversible two fabric gaiter. I'm going to try the reversible one tomorrow morning. What dimensions would you recommend for the one continuous piece of fabric (medium size)? Thank you again!
Sheryl Rubin sorry I should of clarified. My original measurement that I said was from one piece of fabric. 24x18. Make sure the 24 is the direction that stretches.
@@FunstuffcraftsLisaWelander Ahhh...ok! Thanks so much!
Do you have measurements for 3 and up and primary age to secondary age kids
I would suggest you start with the youth size and measure the length or long side (18”) around the kids head to determine the correct size. You can adjust the length from there. The width or smaller side would start the same. I hope this helps.
can you use fleece fabric to make a gaiter?
Juanita Miller you sure can. I see
Lots of them worn during winter time!
I Wear Neck Gaiters because it even Covers Large Beards,
