Great job on the video and commentary! My wife and I were on the Venezia for the maiden voyage from Barcelona to NYC. Your critiques and praise of the various dining options were spot on. During that cruise, the Main Dining Room had really long waits as well as some undercooked food and app crashes. I am glad that it seems like they have that issue solved. Thanks again!

Hi Jennifer, I'm boarding on Saturday heading to Canada.
Long time Carnival cruiser hint: if you eat at one of the specialty restaurants on first day of sailing or on formal night, you can either get a FREE bottle of house wine. Or 1/2 off any bottle on the wine menu.
With your food, if you ever don’t like your entree your server will replace it with something else immediately.
Sea-day brunch on carnival are some of the best. I’m also looking forward to English tea on our Bermuda cruise next September.

When we get an excellent server in YTD we snap a photo of the card with the teams name on it and request them every night. Also good to reference when completing the review at end of cruise.

You can have the same servers for anytime dining if you talk to the staff. May not be the same table but you can get the same staff. We've done that a lot of times if we have a staff that we really liked.

I've never been on a Carnival cruise where soft drinks are included. You can get the soft drinks package which is extra.

Subscribed and smashed the like button #20. Vegetable Lasagna looks good. Chocolate Melting Cake. The brunch is very good. At the brunch they have eggs benedict with salmon instead of ham. Must specify. Carnival is the only one that has that. Even the Buffett looks good. Early dining is better. I make friends in the casino. Guys Burgers are very good. Carnival Pizza is very good. The Margarita Pizza is my favorite. We ate breakfast in the MDR. Omlette station is good. I stay away from the Mexican place. I tried a breakfast burrito one time, it was good. Carnival makes excellent desserts. The Chefs at Carnival are very good. 31 completed cruises. One solo, after my wife passed away. The Steakhouse is very good. My wife really liked it. That was a good shot of Kelly. I like the Strip Steak. Not an eater of ham, or pork. I am usually up late playing in the casino. I always bring cash for the casino. Vegetable Omlette is very good. What about St. John?
By the way, food is not free. Some is included when you pay your fare. Some is not.

Enjoyed the video-One question on what I observed: Was all the buffet food left uncovered and open? One concern from friends that cruise every year is they have all come home with Covid. Yes, after every cruise! I didn’t see any food covers in the video and was trying to find out being high risk. Thanks!
Hi yes I don’t recall seeing any covers. The food is constantly being taken by guests and replenished by the staff. That stinks about your friends coming home sick. I had no problems with it that on my last cruises.

Cruise veteran on carnival
First time cruiser here, I will eventually call Carnival and find out, but can you kill a curiosity? We will be on this boat next year. I paused video at 10:43 so maybe you answer it. Room service is there a delivery charge for that? How does that work? Would love your insight....
Yes, there's a charge for all room service options. You can order from your phone and have it delivered to your room or anywhere you are on the ship 24 hours a day.

The ship looks amazing! Lol I think I would eat bad food just to enjoy that ship. Is this ship only in NY to Canada? I don't think it comes to Fl. Was this your free cruise you got from Atlantic City? Mike loves eating pizza on cruises. The breakfast buffet made me hungry now. Okay you sold me on this ship! Lol I have been on 5 cruises and Mike has been on 7. I love them! It is more of a budget cruise but we had a lot of fun on the Elation. That trip only cost us 1600 for 5 days for 4 people. That included insurance and tips. Really not a bad deal!
No not a bad deal at all for 4 people! Thanks for hanging with us it was really fun and relaxing we just tried to avoid the crowded times. Went against the crowds lol yes this was a comp cruise I received from Ballys. They gave me 2 of them! Just had to pay port charges and tax and tips. Just booked the other one in March from New Orleans. Carnival glory. Hope your doing ok in the storms ❤️

Carnival can provide our guests with meals suited to the following special dietary needs: vegetarian, low-cholesterol, low-fat, low-carbohydrate, low-sugar, and gluten-free. Our chefs will make every effort to fulfill your requests, and will gladly prepare freshly-made options that meet your dietary needs. Once on board, we ask you speak with the headwaiter or dining room host in advance, so they can assist in planning your daily meals in the dining room. This will allow us the necessary time to prepare foods, as requested, in a timely manner.
Gluten-free pizza dough, pasta, bread for deli sandwiches, and hamburgers buns, as well as cake are available upon request. Plus, our frozen desserts and yogurt are gluten-free. All items are freshly prepared and may take a little longer than regular menu items. Gluten-free alcoholic beverages are available for your enjoyment on our U.S.-based ships.
We also provide prepackaged kosher meals as long as two weeks’ notice is provided in advance of your cruise.
Guests who require a different dining time than they chose when booking can change once on board the ship. Guests will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stay away from this ship unless you long for the smell of ashtrays and cigarettes.
It has been many years since cigarette smoking has been an issue on any mainstream cruise line sailing ports out of or around the United States, but this Carnival ship has reversed that trend in spectacular fashion. Surprise turned to anger as we realized that even our own balcony was not a safe haven. For the most part, in recent decades , the smell of smoke was present in Casinos and small, selected outside areas with smoking on balconies strictly prohibited. On the Venezia, this is not the case. There is a large portion of the interior from Deck 3 to Deck 5 that is pretty much polluted to a point that anybody that does not care for the smell of ashtrays, cigarettes and stale smoke will find it objectionable at the very least and intolerable at worst. The source is the Casino that dominates the center of deck 4 from side to side with the usual heavy smoke conditions. OK, that is how it has been for years and anyone cruising on a regular basis is aware of this condition and deals with it. What is not acceptable is how much of the surrounding areas reek of tobacco, even when the casino is closed. From the deck below, in parts of the Marco Polo Restaurant , to deck 5 above, where the steakhouse, sushi and tapanayi restaurants are found, along with some of the shops and sadly, The Amari Bar, which had great cocktails but we soon wrote off, the smell is very much reminiscent of a 1980's New York City bar around 1 AM. I declined the pleasure of paying for a specialty restaurant filled with second hand smoke. At first I could not figure out how the smell could be so strong and thought that it was the deck 5 glass atrium structure directly over the casino that was the avenue for the smoke to travel, but eventually it became clear that along with the atrium the elevator banks were drawing the smoke from deck 4 and distributing it above and below. Even the staff agreed that the smell was strong and traveling via the elevators. Needless to say the forward elevator banks were really bad at times and we pretty much used the stairs.
Perhaps because this ship was originally built for the Asian market, where smoking is much less restricted than on U.S. Itineraries, the actual structure of the ship has not been optimized to contain the smell. I have to guess something is quite different about the 'build' of this ship compared to Princess ships and their the Churchell's Smoking Lounges, where the smell fades within a few feet of the doors.
I have been cruising for decades and nothing even close to this situation has been encountered in many years.
But, how about stepping out for some fresh air you say ? Outside is pretty bad as well. On the outside 'promenade' that circles deck 5 a very large portion of the port side has been given over to smoking. This area is configured and outfitted like a spa area with chairs, tables, loungers and covered to create a tobacco oasis. I had forgotten that people will actually smoke cigarette after cigarette all day and night. The smoke from this area often made it all the way up to my 8th floor balcony. I would imagine the 6th and 7th decks were even worse. And cigars, enough said. On the other hand you could walk the 'jogging track' on deck 12 to get away from the smoke. That is, until you get to the aft area on the port side, which passes over another dedicated outside smoking lounge on deck 11. Same all day chain smokers. And cigars.
Usually when you write a negative review or comment it is with the intention to tell others to avoid a product or service or perhaps to turn away enough customers to make a company address an issue. In this case I am sure my words will attract many customers as obviously lots of people love to sit around and inhale tobacco smoke for long periods of time as a way to relax. In addition, since I came home and contacted Carnival it is clear that they are aware of and just fine with the situation. I received the equivalent of the corporate bird from the non-existent Carnival customer service.
My goal here is simply to warn off anybody that does not wish to spend their money on a ship that is obviously courting the tobacco crowd to the detriment of those that do not smoke.
Jennifer, you're killing me with some of your commentary. Complimentary is not complimentarary, and I had to think about what you were saying at the taco bar. Habanero sauce is not pronounced that way. Most of your Italian words were also interesting to say the least. It is a very informative tour and I enjoyed how you moved through the venues. No specialty restaurants leaves out a large portion of the experience. Hard to do on a shorter cruise. For someone with a travel channel, they would be tax deductible if you're earning money from your views. Keep at it. You're doing great.

Just got back....STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHIP!!!!..Food was bad and got worse....the ship was so badly designed...swimming pool the size of a bathtub, over crowded public spaces in general...more than on bitch girls slap down, 13 people arrested this cruise, 10th and last cruise on Carnival.
