I have a schismatoglottis but some of the leaves are damaged and I'm wanting to prune them but I'm unsure about how to do that, I feel like I want to trim them as far back as the stem allows
Hi my beautiful Schismatoglottis Wallichii is going yellow I have it indoors in indirect sunlight and am disappointed that the leaves are turning yellow
Hi. In my experience, I only face yellowing of leave with wallichii when the leaves are old or if there is injury at the root like when I separate the baby plants from the mother. During this time I usually reduce watering frequency and let the root to heal. However there are many factors that can cause yellowing of leaves. This plant loves water but if your water is not draining well, the potting mix can get soggy and clogged with water which can damage the root and cause yellowing of leaves. Eventually plant will die if not rectified. Sometimes could be overheating from direct sun or lack of humidity in the air. The surrounding air have to be moist enough. These are some things you can look into. Sorry, it's hard to pinpoint reasons without looking at the actual plant and diagnosing it.
Adding good deal of something like Perlite might be able to improve moisture handling and ventilation of your substrate. Roots are main suspect, then in the long run their pruning or re-potting may be to do.

Yes, you can prune far back the stem without damaging the main stem.

Examine its roots. Don't they ask for some kind of attention?
Planting a new plant but the snail is attacking the leaves.. Plant seems to be very tired.. Is it recover? What will I do?
I think, cuts from the rose stems are helping me get snails and such away from certain spots in the garden. Thrown in between plants.
