Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War (Emulated) - M13: Lying in Deceit

"Go forth and bomb stuff". I normally like missions like that, but the targets in this mission are too few and too spread out. It's more Tango Line than anything else. And yet, at its worst, ACZ is still fun as well. Take a hint, Kono.
And as good as the good old NASA stripes are, I'm a sucker for Ferris camo. One of the best plane camo schemes ever devised - only beat by Flanker splitter and Slovakian digital MiG-29s.

I normally try as much as possible to use unique aircraft and only have one variant of each, but the S/MTD is more than unique (and awesome) enough to justify it. And thank you.

Is it ever fucking explained why there's a different hangar in this mission? It still drives me crazy even when I go through the game for the 16th time

As you can see during the take-off, you're not in Valais Air Base. You take off from Heierlark, the base in Osea you can resupply from, and notably a location from Ace Combat 5. The hangar itself is the exact same hangar as in AC5 - it's a purposeful throwback.

Why does it look like they painted a canopy on the bottom?

Because they did - it's called a false canopy. The concept was invented by Keith Ferris, the author of this splitter camo that I love. It's a a type of disruptive camo: it doesn't camouflage the aircraft, but can confuse viewers to what direction it's going. It's based on similar camouflage in nature, as some birds have similar patterns in their heads and tails.
