Awesome stuff, Jake! I'm glad 2024 has been such a monumental year for you, both in your personal reads and the channel! I will definitely be hopping on the Suneater train in 2025 😁
Your channel is so enjoyable, and I’m glad you decided to take the chance and become a Booktuber. Congrats on all you’ve accomplished so far. As far as books go, I read the Empire of the Wolf trilogy by Richard Swan this year and loved it. It has some of my favorite characters, and Swan is an excellent storyteller. 2025 is the year I read Sun Eater, and I’m looking forward to it!
Dudeee the 1k stream was a great time. And yes-Hadrian Marlowe is really one of a kind. It also is sort of cheating that there are 6 books from his eyes that we live in😂😂 but also a favorite of mine
I mean, how can you not steal this idea when it's such a fun way to reflect back on the year?! So grateful to be part of your community, can't wait to see what the future holds. And excited to join you on the Sun Eater hype train next year, woohooo 🤩
It’s wonderful to have you around here, Jake! I’m so glad that Nerd Level Rising has made its mark in our community, and I look forward to what’s to come!
My favorite series has to be Mistborn. I read the Era 1 trilogy this year and I'm so pumped for Stormlight Archive. Discovering Brandon Sanderson has been the highlight of my reading year for sure😅. Hoping on the Sun Eater bandwagon next year. I'm so glad I discovered your channel !!
@@sithabilegwala8139 mistborn is so great!! Glad you loved it and I hope you enjoy Stormlight and Sun Eater 😁 thanks so much for checking out my channel!!
Great video as always! The Edan trilogy is far and away the biggest pleasant surprise this year for me. So frigging good! SO happy you're enjoying Suneater, I can't understand how Ruocchio keeps topping himself with every entry! Can't wait to hear what you think of Disquiet Gods :) Have you read The Faithful & The Fallen? I loved the Bloodsworn, but if you like the Edan trilogy, you might enjoy Gwynne's take on the prophecy idea in that one
Awesome video, brother 💪 What a great year! You are rocking it and you are such a great addition to booktube. Thankful I get to watch your channel and content, but even more thankful to call you a friend!
I would say one of the books I was most surprised to enjoy this year was The Man Who Was Thursday by GK Chesterton. It’s a nightmarish metaphysical almost absurdist thriller about a cop infiltrating a dangerous group of anarchists in the early 1900s and realizing that the rabbit hole goes far deeper than he could have imagined. Not really in my normal wheelhouse but it was such a fascinating experience and as it turns out it was a favorite book of Gene Wolfe which I found out afterwards.
The fact that you copy good things is not a problem at all. I like the enthusiasm with which you talk about the books you love. As for subscribers, that number will only grow, you don't have to worry about that. People who read books, like me, like to hear what other fans think about the books they read. Besides, I've found many books I would like to read because few SF and fantasy books are published in Croatia. 👍🖖😄
So nice to see your take on these. I loved your 1k stream as well. It felt very special. And I HEARD THE NEWS YOURE OFFICIALLY JOINING THE ALL STAR CAST FOR JANNYUARY!!! LETS GOOOOO
New series: Dungeon Crawler Carl Disappointment: This Is How You Lose the Time War Surprise: Legends and Lattes Character: I’m cheating and saying all 3 main POVs from Bloodsworn. I can’t choose just one! Touching Moment: there’s a part after a big conflict in Legends and Lattes where everyone rallies around the MC and it was really heart-warming
I will answer your questions in order: Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff; 2. The Red Rising series; 3. The Testament by John Grisham; 4. Bruno Bergeron
I can understand how you'd (or anyone else) have a hard time getting into The Road, Cormac McCarthy's writing style takes a little to get used to. Oddly enough, this book actually helped me get out of a reading slump. Hopefully you give it a second chance at some point. There's also a film adaptation that's pretty faithful (though the book has more tougher scenes), it stars Viggo Mortensen. My fav books I read this year are 1. 11/22/63 2. Fahrenheit 451 and 3. I am Legend.
So glad you’re a part of the community Jake! I’m glad you did this video. 😊
