Jess you are a genius! I need to set boundaries between chronic illnesses, energy levels and activities, and your video is so godsend.
I need this as a printable, this would be so necessary for me.
I remember you and rachelle in theory did your time tracking vids around the same time which I really should try for myself. She came across the same issue when planning out her time that it doesn’t work for weekly and there’s stuff we wanna do on a biweekly basis that can’t be included when planning weekly
Yeah previously I've mainly thought about less frequent tasks being weekly, monthly, or multi-monthly, but because I don't really like monthly planning all that much, it's proving to be less useful 😂 fortnightly seems like a good workaround 💪
This is inspiring. I ever thought to make a fortnightly structure before but it makes so much sense. I appreciate how you have time for work by shaping it around your values of building community, relationship tending, & self care. Let me get to scribbling in my notebook to figure out my life now. lol
So relatable with forgetting to eat or drink cause you get so caught up or into a hyperfocussed state and just forget about it. I've been using a Time Blocking table like this, but I keep it digital in Google Sheets.
Also, NOW I understand what fortnightly means.. I was listening to your last stream half tired just confused hearing 'fortnite' XD
Haha glad we got you caught up on the fortnight idea 😝 Totally understand why it confuses people given the game 😂
I loved hearing the metacognitive process you went through. I hope to be just as mindful while planning my work schedule!! (My problem since working from home isn't overworking, if ya know what I mean 😬)
Personnaly, because I change when I work everyday, I do a monthly planning (and I think it's nice and useful for me)
I like this process and have challenged myself to examine my daily life to see how I can incorporate it. My hobbies of journaling, art and work occupy the same space for hours on end and I want to break it up into a process that doesn't feel so connected to that desk area.
That's fair 👏 That's one of my boundary issues; because my desk is both my work and creative area, I easily fall into doing work outside of work hours 😝
Great advice discussing energy cycles and tasks! I like that you can use an hourly schedule and time blocking. I find that hour schedules might not work for me. However, Gretchen Rubin mentioned the four quarters method of dividing your day into four time blocks like morning, day, afternoon, and night. Anyusha here on UA-cam has a video called four quarters method. There is a blog post by notes by Thalia sunday reset routine 3 sections where you talks about a sunday reset for 3 parts of the day like morning, afternoon and evening. I think these methods might work better for me. Also, in Laura Vanderkam book Tranquility by Tuesday, she mentions 9 rules and rule four is a 3 times a week habit and there is also a rule about exercising before 3 pm. I think I like those ideas, too.
Don't forget to give yourself a day off!
That's going to be my Saturdays! But just a lil admin in the morning because I like to respond to comments as promptly as possible 😄
The black plaid A&O notebook is elegant and wow if it had page gilding, sadly it doesn't.
Why have I never thought about a fortnightly timetable?! Thanks for sharing and I hope this schedule works for you. The number of work hours is still more on the higher side but it's definitely an improvement. I hope you let us know how it goes when you've tested it out for a couple of weeks 😊
I'll try to make sure to! I'm hoping to do a "how my planning is changing" video for Vlogmas which will definitely be aligned with this one 💪
Thank you so much. like this episode very much... inspiring..work-life balance and energy cycle are always neglected by many people.
The fact that you don't have a single day without work is crazy to me. Everyone is different and I do respect the hussle but take a day for yourself! 😅❤
It's one of those tricky things that because I love what I do, I find it easy to do some everyday (even if on some days, it's legit just the fun stuff 😝)
That's not to say that I don't have days off, but it's rare that I do ~zero~ for work on any given day 😊💜
@@JashiiCorrin People who love what they do have a higher risk of burning out just because they love to do the work. I did. Thats why I see this and become a bit concerned. But on the other hand you are very organized and good at working on yourself so it might be very unfounded worries. Also internet stranger that don't have all the context ofcourse. A long winded way of saying I enjoy your content, you do you and make sure you take care of yourself ❤️
This seems extremely helpful. I also have poor work boundaries, although recently I got strict about my Sundays and it is the BEST decision I have ever made. Sundays are for relaxation...even when I don't want to XD
I'm hoping that will be the Saturdays for me 😄 She says...as she writes this comment....on a Saturday 😂 it's in my work block though! 😝
@@JashiiCorrin it did not happen overnight for me. I have an interesting work life, divided between freelance work and working on my novel, and it was hard to learn what's work and what really isn't. I do sometimes write on Sundays, but for pleasure rather than whatever my deadline-project is. I imagine there will be things for you that fall into the same category. I'm sure you'll find your healthy balance. 🤍
I work every other Saturday, so maybe I should set up a fortnightly schedule.
I think it's a useful idea for those of us who have those week-on-week-off type schedules 💪
I've been trying to work on this myself. I labeled it You need a routine (ynar) in my journal.
This is awesome.
Just make sure you don't delete the data ;)
Haha 😂 I''ve saved the file somewhere MUCH more reasonable this time, lol 💜
bi-weekly is twice a weak and i don’t like to say fortnight which is technically 15 days so i say “pair-weekly” for every or three week
I've never heard fortnight to mean 15 days, only ever 2 weeks 🤔 I looked it up because I was curious, but haven't been able to see it used that way before 😅 Bi-weekly means twice a week for me too 💪
'Fortnight' comes from the Old English for 'fourteen nights' so has never meant 15. However in French they refer to 'quinze jours' (15 days) as a fortnight so maybe that's where the OP is getting it from?
And why are album 💿 are viewed as one big story?

It is a cohesive collection of songs used to tell a bigger theme or project an overall vibe. Think of an album as a book. And your songs as chapters. Every book has chapters. Every album has songs. Each chapter is different. Each song is different. But the collection of chapters (the collection of songs) is what tells the full story of the book (of the album). Usually the songs on an album are the result of an artist's creations during a season of life. This means the songs can all speak to a similar set of themes, ideas and topics. So the aim of an album name is to try and sum up the big story/concept that all the songs pull from when they were written. It's not always like these, especially today. But traditionally, an album is like a "book" with the songs inside being like "chapters."
Is this a comment copied from somewhere else? 🤔 just asking because of the “8 months ago” part 😅
But I hope it make sense that studio album 💿 are book 📕 📚 📖 @@JashiiCorrin
@@JashiiCorrin I’m trying to tell you the right info about studio album and book. And it would be amazing if you do a library and talk to a librarian about difference between studio album vs book and are they the same for me to be clarify both studio album 💿💿 💿 and book 📕 📖 📚 both have number and song title and it’s true.
You should schedule full days off. You're still planning 7 days with work still too much. Try to max at 40h per week. If you're on Sunday maybe take Tuesday off or something like that.
While I appreciate the thought, at the moment I'm happy with the time I've got dedicated off 😊 Eventually I'll probably work up to a full day or whatnot off, but at the moment it causes more stress than peace 😝
Jess- consider getting someone to do the “yucky” house cleaning drudgery. Your time is worth money. I wish I could say I did this in my younger days. I either left things undone, enlisted my hubby, or hated every minute of getting stuff clean. Now I’m older and my kids are gone. I’m partially retired. I do most of it myself. BUT I’m going to hire out for the grunge. I’m worth it. . . So are you!!!
Haha thanks! I'm going to show this comment to Vogel because every time I talk about hiring someone he says "but we could do it" 😝 and like yeah...we COULD....but someone else could too 😂
@@JashiiCorrin time is money Vogel. Lol.
I can't wait to outsource housework as soon as I have the funds to do so. I just hate it and it's absolutely worth it to me!
