Glass and liquid are 2 that should be upright with or without arrows

Man I hate those tall narrow cupcake boxes in the freezer, they would be so nice laying flat but I know all that frosting is gunna be squished so I keep them up. 75% of freezer cases with an arrow are pointless but its important to know the ones that it actually matters. I worry there is a bit of a boy who cried wolf problem with arrows cause so many of them can be ignored people think that you can just put anything any direction.

Yeah the whole cake and cookie section really suck and the arrows do need to be up there. And they are all different sized boxes. That's why I suggested there be standardize sizes for boxes that need to be a certain way.

fuck those cupcake boxes. I sometimes put them on their side, but vertically, so not laying flat. But honestly, they haven't cared about arrows in years here at walmart. They just want the stuff out the door.

@chandler4301 💯 If they cared, they'd lower standards.

I always like arrows up personally, but doing food service, you have to read boxes anyways and when you do chemical orders or a mix of everything, it can be crucial, but it really depends on the department at the end and even with having to think about all the nonsense about mixing chemicals and food products they still don't give you time but as long as you got cardboard you're fine and as long as nothing leaks

I literally have seen you put a open box of grapes on its side while they stick 2 feet over the edge of your pallet lol. But yeah like I said, sometimes it's necessary to watch the arrows on certain products that could actually be damaged. But then again, why is your warehouse having you mix chemicals and food on the same pallet?

@xqeze6849 yeah wasn't the smartest back then but I personally know sysco will have dry orders and dry has all sorts including food the system should always know where it should go at the end of the day but I always think about cross contamination like I've had orders where I had chicken, beef eggs, milk all on one pallet so I learned to follow arrows in that aspect well and also I never actually cared when I first selected I was chasing money at the beginning

Also some places don't slot the best

@calebvibez266 Sorry bro, the pallets you post in the discord look a lot better than when you worked here. But, as an order selector, you shouldn't be worried about cross contamination. If you have product that could contaminate another, then they should be on completely separate orders or at least separate pallets. That was my other point, that people in charge of warehouse operations are putting off their responsibilities onto order selectors.

For sure. The people slotting never even see the product or the location it's going. Everything is done on a computer screen and that makes for some horrible slotting decisions. @@calebvibez266

What happens to your % and job security if pallets are falling over during probation?

Absolutely nothing. You have 90 days to reach standards. They only care how fast you are and that you're picking all the cases. The only way not to make it is if you ghost pick, you stop coming to work, or if you're not improving in speed.

To be fair you're just showing damaged boxes. BUT I will say I came around with freezer products

All I was saying with the damaged boxes, is that arrows being up or down is least of the stores problems, when it comes to damaged product.
