    I'm sure Bach would have loved this. It sounds very similar to the lute-harpsichord that he designed.

    Lovely sounding clavicytherium. Well played.

    Beautiful! It's refreshing to listen to a rendition of the prelude which does not ignore the pauses in the bass line.

    Phenomenal performance. You are truly masterful and I am so glad to have discovered your channel. I'm a recovering classical guitarist who took up piano to be able to play Bach's on the instrument he wrote on. I must admit that when I started this suite, I found the prelude fingerlings didn't feel that the piece was written for the keyboard either! In any event, bach captured the soul of the lute in this suite and the lautenwerke and this instrument with their gut strings capture the warmth wonderfully. I may have to get one! I suppose I'd be afraid of the tuning and repairs they must need all the time.
    Anyway, please keep posting and hope to hear some recordings of yours as well.

    Wow your videos are fantastic! Your playing is fantastic. And I've never seen/heard a clavicytherium before, just looked it up.

    Most of the performances of this pice either sound rushed or way too loose/rubato. This one is great. It's very musical and smooth. Great job on the phrasing!

    That 3rd inversion Vsus4 7/V-V7/V chord around 2:10 just kills me. Absolutely wonderful.

    I agree that it is somewhat too fast (the Fugue and Allegro, at any rate), and this is one, along with many others, that is likely to get redone.

    Wait this is a thing? I thought it was an upright! It’s an upright clavichord!

    • @teafruitbat
      @teafruitbat  Рік тому

      It is a "lautenwerk clavicytherium," an upright harpsichord with nylgut strings.

    Good performance, a bit too fast and a bit sloppy at places, but not bad at all. Very enjoyable to listen. The instrument is amazingly beautiful - absolutely perfect for this piece.
