My colleague (a catering manager) and I (the chef) were overwhelmed at this service. It was just us two, as no caterer from work could help us. A couple were out of town, a few were preoccupied with personal stuff, and the rest had other shifts to work. There was one particular guy we thought we could count on, but no. It was a TIRING night for me and my colleague, and you know what? We deserved it. We were too hard on the said caterer for some mistakes he made, and we should've handled it better.
After 7 years of a very nonstop, stressful, toxic job I had a break. Ended up on SSRIs, it forced me to look for a different employer. It worked out great. Ended up in a similar position with less on my plate. Got off SSRIs. First few years have been good, but feeling the stress and overwhelm creeping in lately. In my busy season, have three young kids, feels like everything is dirty, needs repair, messy, etc., basically let my fitness go, not getting enough sleep. It all just feels like too much.
