    Please help me out by liking the video! If you want early access to new content, consider becoming a member.
    Note for this episode: Splitting this up to keep the builds / episode managable. Don't forget to check out the links to the planner in the description and tell me if those are useful! Also, this build is partially prepping for phase 4 as well (similar to the phase 1 build prepping for phase 2)!

      Great work again man. This is where I'm at cause I want to make a turbo fuel plant before I move on. Making a huge base at the crater in the bottom right.

    Just wanted to say im a returning player for 1.0 with a decent amount of play time in the early acces (~115hrs). Im finding these masterclasses really nice to watch, ive picked up some tips i didnt know, and its inspiring me to actually make a factory that looks nice for once!

    I say this as someone who has watched a lot of Satisfactory content and someone who has quit before P3 several times.
    This series deserves a lot more views.....
    It is a great example of how to balance both the 'let's play' and the tutorial style content. Add in an excellent, relaxed presentation style and it's perfect content for me.
    I've never got beyond Phase 2 before however this time I'm close to P3 and really enjoying the game, entirely thanks to this series, thank you.

      Exactly the idea I was going for behind this series, so very encouraging to hear! Thank you, and let's go get that phase 3 completed ;)

    For the parts that produce slowly, have you considered putting a storage container before the dimensional depot so that the depot refill rate is not limited by the production rate? I find that materials for belts in particular are consumed in bursts, so being able to refill the depot quickly from a storage container is helpful rather than waiting for the production.
    Sharing the links to the planner is extremely useful - it means that following the build is much easier. Thank you for uploading these masterclasses!

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 місяці тому +1

      That's definitely a valid way to do it! There isn't much overproduction in the slow production items though, so that depot won't be filling in fast + the Dimensional Depot also ' prestacks ' a stack itself so for most items it's not really needed.
      Still, I can see this being useful especially for items that shift to higher demand later (e.g. the industrial beams).

      @N_a_y_e_n 2 місяці тому

      Yeah I was about to write the same - some buffer against uploader is very usefull for high use materials (conret, steel, plates) and slow production items (computers etc.)

    • @sethyboy0
      @sethyboy0 2 місяці тому

      The buffer is massive. All the hours a new player like me spends exploring and building causes even the worst items (fucking frames) to fill up off of just a single assembler. It looks like it isn’t doing much at first but after you go exploring for mercer spheres and hard drives you’ll come back to some impressive buffers.
      Like the other guy said it’s extra big for concrete and belt mats.

    Do you have the blueprints you made available anywhere? Specifically for the steel mill portions?

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 місяці тому +1

      Nope, but I'm happy to share if there's an easy website to do so! It's just a simple set of constructors etc, nothing that you can't replicate in a few minutes. The best blueprints (imo) are simple builds that you can easily just copy/paste and that you'll use over and over again.

    I'm confused on how should I do belt work for pipes. We are producing 120 steel per minute, constructor takes 30 of those to make 20 pipes so where and how do I split it off?

  • @MrMaddog1233
    @MrMaddog1233 2 місяці тому +3

    Will the same pipe factory layout work if I use the alt recipe for 20 ingots instead?

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 місяці тому

      You can use something similar, but you'll need to adjust the inputs accordingly. It's not a massive change though, just make sure you keep your max belt throughput in mind as well ;)

  • @shawnp6653
    @shawnp6653 2 місяці тому

    Hi TDA! Out of curiosity, how are you suspending that Smart Splitter for the concrete? You probably told us in an earlier episode but I missed that tip (I like the mergers hanging on the lifts :) ). I used a 4m and a 1m foundation. Clearing the main base production and logistic floors kept the sinks humming for a while!

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 місяці тому +1

      Actually if you have ceiling belts, you can attach splitters and mergers right to them on the ceiling. You do need to have ceiling mounts for belts unlocked for that to work of course.
      And yea clearing that main base took me a suprising long time to sink as well, despite clearing the belts from production first as much as possible (by disconnecting the miners). Was fun to come back like an hour later and it was still moving :D

      You mean the mergers on top of the machines? Build (temporary) foundations until you get to the correct height, place the mergers, and delete the foundations again. To save some time, do that once on each side, and blueprint that --> copy/paste into a new blueprint for the other machines.

    You're running the solid steel recipe and say it's more efficient, but it isn't. There's always a tradeoff with alternates. In this case, you need much more coal.
    All recipes are situational.

    • @TheDutchActuary
      @TheDutchActuary  2 місяці тому

      I don't disagree on the tradeoffs in general (which is what makes the alternates fun and balanced!), but how does solid steel use more coal? The normal recipe coal is 1:1, the solid steel version does 2:3.

    • @mephInc
      @mephInc 2 місяці тому

      @TheDutchActuary
      You use coal to make the ingots and coal again to make the pipes whereas just coal for ingots and none for the pipes with the original recipe.
      Small tradeoff
