On 1st February 2024, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her 6th consecutive budget. 2024's Union Budget is very special. This is not a full Budget. It is an interim budget which is a Budget presented when there are General Elections.

It's best if you could compare the past budget promises and the reality of it so that we could get a clear picture. All you're showcasing is the proposals that the govt has planned for upcoming year. Proposals are fine. But we should check the conversion rate of the promises to reality too.

Priority Focus of Government should be on these area :-
1. Proper implementation of Right to Education in rural area .
2. Improvement in Public Health Sector .
3. Fully restrictions of explict content on internet in India.
4. Focus on Renewable Energy.

It's very disappointing that Education is not in the top 5 expenses.... Education is one of the most important tool if we want to become manufacturing hub and want to have skilled labour force. Conditions of government schools are very much deteriorated in rural areas. I wish if gov could priorities education.

I think Education should also be focused on. We are not seeing any tangible development after National Education Policy 2020.I believe that Education, Skill development and Healthcare is of utmost importance to build a resilient future.
yeah, centre is a bit lax on these issues, plus R&D is a problem, but I am happy to see they have allocated some funds for research at least in this budget, seems like a step in the right direction.

General government debt refers to overall debt, including that of states and municipalities. Current Genreral government Debt to GDP ratio is 89%. While the same ratio for only central government is 55%. India only exports 3% of total world exports, so the loan percentage & its utilisation will become burden in future. Need to reduce pension funds, freebies. Increase in export of material and technology will only solve the problem.
@AbhiandNiyu it would be good if you also mention the budgets allocated as a percentage of gdp allowing us to compare our budget with the other developing countries.
