I am really loving this song! I'm not huge on the repetition in the chorus, but it isn't that big of a drawback for me. Lauren sounds great, and the synths are nice
I'm very excited! love their music and this song sounds good :) a bit repetitive but I like it! Can't wait to see how the album sounds

I loved Get Out! I'm just in love Lauren's voice. It's not my favorite from them, but I definitely like it a lot (maybe it's because I'm starving for new chvrches music?)

I was on a high of Chvrches music yesterday and now they release a new song and I'm just beaming! Honestly loved the song, listened to it now before work and just had to check your video. It definitely didn't hit that sweet spot but it could grow to be one of my favorites anyway. Thank you, Jon, for getting me into this band!

I got pretty much what I expected from this song. Just a really solid track that gets me excited for the album.
I am super excited for the new album, i agree with your rating of this song but on the other hand it may grow on me alot in the upcoming weeks. This often happens. I find it super funny how like a few videos ago you were like "when are chvrches coming out with a new album i think its soon..." then like in no time at all this drops. Are you a Chvrches soothsayer haha?

I loved it, it reminds me a lot of the stuff from The Bones of What You Believe, but it’s also really slick like their last record, and it’s structure is very poppy, so so excited for their upcoming record. I wish the lyrics on the chorus were a little better, but it’s good enough. Love the synth that opens and carries through the song. Lauren’s vocal performance was great. The lyrics are the only short coming but it’s not that big of a deal to me when the production is this good.
The song is amazing, though the chorus is a bit repetitive, but the new material has got me hyped af!
Ever heard of Aereogramme? It's where I knew Iain Cook from (and one of my all-time favourite bands). Maybe I'll give Chvrches a try after all...
I'm torn. I love the band and I LOVE their previous stuff. So I'm trying really hard to like this new single. I agree with you...there are a lot of good aspects to it. It just feels like somethings off? I guess. Like...the music doesn't really feel like it's connecting with her voice. Like, they're two seperate things instead of flowing together. That's the best way I can describe it, lol. Heres hoping the rest of the album will not disappoint!

While this song may not be their best lead single, it’s punchy and irresistibly hooky, and it gives us a basic idea of what the album would sound like. Just think of what some of the more crafty, deep cuts might sound like based off of this. Especially with Lauren playing drums on the new album, and Kurtin’s work and the whole idea that the album is going to be “aggressive and weird”

I mildly like the song mostly because of the synths. Lauren doesn’t sound vulnerable but instead, powerful :)

It sounds like a Carly Rae Jepsen track, and I know that sounds like a knock, but I mean it as a compliment.
def a compliment and a sensible one! greg kurstin produced carly's album emotion. he also produced tegan and sara's heartthrob and love you to death albums; that band's sara quin advised carly w some songwriting on emotion as well

Hm, I was so disappointed by this song, it sounded repetitive, rehashed, and not exciting and flat.

I am not a fan of this song. The loud opening and then repetitive chorus, that's definitely not my cup of tea. It's probably one of the only songs from them that I just stopped listening to half-way through. And having a famous name as a producer... these days it's not such a good sign. I think most of these people are trying to force artists to simplify their music and adopt the 'safe' generic style that bores me to death. Hope they will not go down that route.
CHVRCHES is just a more basic version of the iconic Kero kero bonito
