It always amazes me that so many amateur European orchestras can turn out first class performances.
You can't really call a conservatory orchestra amateur.
@@jimp4170 Note that in Eastern-Europe "conservatory " entails a high school level institution with a special focus on musical training. But yes, even then they are far from amateurs.
It’s sad that so many fine musicians can’t find paying jobs.
