The intonation is so important to a new player, too! That is a deal breaker for me! I have been looking at Vangoa for awhile now. Thank you for a great review!

Lisa, well, that was entertaining. Gosh you opened the box quickly ;-). It is pretty nice looking, I have to agree , the Paisen with the little stinker has a much better sound. Goes to show- it's not the wand, but the magic it produces. Maybe it could be saved with new strings. Love your honesty. Do you think Vangoa will send you anymore freebies? Will you donate that one?
At this point, I don't even feel that I can donate this one. I hope new strings make it useable.

What kind of strings were they? Strings are so important but so is set up. At one time I had three ukes and I changed them all to Aquila black lava strings (and put on a low G on every uke). I really appreciate your honesty here. It looked like a pretty instrument with inlaid mother of pearl but if the company fixes the problems, it might become a possibility. I’d rather spend more $ and get decent strings etc

I like the dramatic angle for the unboxing. Make every minute interesting! I have a guitar strap on my baritone, which I like. Nice to know I can use one on the smaller instruments. Is it just me, or does that A string sound pretty twangy? Thanks for the informative and entertaining review.
It sounds pretty twangy. I am getting in front of the camera tomorrow to see if new strings will solve the problem. Watch for the report.
And will you please stop referring to yourself as an "adequate" singer! You're wonderful and besides, if you are only "adequate", where does that leave the rest of us? Love thy Singing. Love thyself!

Hi. The new ukulele didn’t sound good to me either…the Paisen ukulele I own and it does have a good sound to it. It is my quietest ukulele I own. I have a soprano flight ukulele that is my loudest. It has a great sound to it.
