  • If you're working in multiple tables in Excel and you're moving across to Dataverse, here's how you can do a one-off import of your data straight into your model-driven Power App, using the import wizard. I show how to upload csv files, mapping to text and choice columns, and how to import a table with relationships to connect to the data already uploaded in other tables, including making a relationship connection using a column that isn't the primary name.

    Hi Lisa,
I’m from India and was an MBA student before I got placed in a company through my college. I’m currently working as an associate consultant in D365 CRM. As someone who is completely new to this field, I found CRM really challenging during my first month on the job. I even started to doubt if I was the right person for this role.
Then I came across your videos, and everything changed. You’ve helped me in ways I can’t even begin to describe, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. Thank you so much for saving me and my career. Sending lots of love and prayers your way!

Hello, you are really talented to explain things simply. I notice it because this time I know this topic but I wouldn’t e able to present it so clearly. It’s an art I envy you.

Brilliant and simple to follow, I’ve been using SharePoint lists, exporting to Excel CSV, I found out after several attempts that Date fields need to be formatted as dates and currency formatted as number.

Like all Lisa's videos , this is brilliant. She is so articulate and clear and I have learnt so much from her and been so inspired by her content. I cannot recommend her channel more highly . One question Lisa - can you import lookup fields (or choice) when importing into a Dataverse for Teams table? My lookup fields are not showing up on the mapping but I wondered if there was a clever way of doing it? Thank you so much for your help.

This seems to be a much easier option over Dataflows for ad-hoc data loading. Thank you for sharing :)

Thanks, that definitely helped with the other data! However, I'm still encountering an error whenever I try to import a VLOOKUP formula. I have a column containing internal users that needs to be linked to their Microsoft Entra IDs.
The only workaround I've found is either through the app's form or by selecting the table outside the app and using "Edit Data in Excel." In this latter case, I can then use the unique Entra ID for the lookup.
Here's the strange part: even when the line already has the Microsoft Entra ID linked, trying to import data to other columns in the same row throws an error specifically related to the Entra IDs.

I love your content. I've learned a lot watching your videos. In your complete model driven app build you touch on security, but could you do a video expanding on that topic? Setting what users can see and do in canvas apps is really easy using a roles table and some global variables, but there isn't a lot of info how that works in model driven apps. For example, admin views or restricted editing based on permissions in model driven apps isn't intuitive. Thanks!

Hello! I like your video but it was a little hard for me to follow because I do not know how you got to the starting screen that you are on?

Hey Lisa - thank you for your videos! What languages or logic do you recommend learning to be proficient in power automate and power apps?

Lisa - following on from this video. I have been attempting to import CSV data to lookup columns that use Microsoft Entra ID as the lookup table. Have tried mapping email to Mail, email to Unique Principle name, I have even tried using the unique ID with no success. Existing Excel has a list of email addresses of internal users that are responsible for various tasks. Not found any solution or attempt at a solution - can it be done?

How did you fix your "The lookup reference could not be resolved" errors? I'm getting those and not sure what to do.

That problem is when there is no unique match on that column with the table you are mapping to. Check the data you uploaded and what’s in the column where you are getting the error. Correct your spreadsheet and try uploading again
