Ahh it’s been a while now and I can’t really remember how I worked out the length but I do remember it being a bit taller as that’s what I wanted to get a little extra ride height
How is it since then? Did it already break down? 😅 I'm considering either this or a yss shock, would love some feedback. Did it also lift the bike, or just the smoother dampening feel btw? Thanks mate!
Well right now it is still working great, and you can set the height of the shock so you have have it higher or lower than standard however the rear linkage design of the bike limits the amount of height increase you can have.
Hola ,,,megusta lo q mire porq no entiendo el inglés,,,pero tengo una moto igual,,me gustaría saber donde consigo repuestos soy de Nicaragua,,,,gracias y Bendiciones
Good luck with that cheapo shock. Have your original shock rebuilt by a competent shop - the spring is fine and can be reused, they don't wear out in these applications. Don't scrap the original shock, have it refreshed. I'm in the USA and do ATV/bike/MX shocks, they are very simple and economical to rebuild.
Yeah still have the original and was thinking of getting it rebuilt but I can buy 3 cheapo shocks for the same price of a shock rebuild at a local shop. I might try rebuilding it myself but for now I’ll just see how long the cheapo shock lasts.
@@BrooksiesBackyard Some things are actually worth what they cost. This is one of them. Having a shop do it will avoid possible accidents/damage as well.
@@BillyWillicker I know what your saying but spending 600 dollars on a shock rebuilt is a bit hard to stomach when the bike was only 900 bucks to buy originally but we will cross that bridge when we get to it, for now we will see how long the cheapo shock lasts. The cheapo show also just looks like the same as a 500 dollar YSS shock for the nx250 just rebranded so hopefully that’s the case.
@@BrooksiesBackyard Realistically, the stock shock should cost around $200USD with parts and labor so long as the chrome on the shaft is ok. Maybe getting a quote from a shop would give a better idea of the actual cost to rebuild it. The best thing to do is run the cheap shock, save to rebuild the original, and enjoy the bike for a while until the cheap one wears out. Since it's a rare-ish bike it's worth more with the original parts on it.
Thanks for the video. Good tips. Will order one in a few days.
Awesome mate, let me know how you get on with the new shock!
Why did you buy the 325mm instead of the 305mm? The original is 305mm I think?

I’m not sure where you would get parts in your country but these bikes share a lot of parts with the nx250 and a ax1 so hopefully that helps you.

If it's anything like the nx250 rear shock then it's not worth the rebuild. Those things came really soft. Maybe if you only stick to the pavement.
