- We show you how to reset the service or inspection due light on your VW or Audi with the OBDeleven. Resetting the service light on your vehicle is a requirement to keep track of the maintenance on your vehicle. If you do your own work or get your vehicle serviced at a shop that does not have access to a scan tool the OBDeleven is the most cost-effective way to perform this task. You will no longer have to pay the dealer hour labor just to reset your light.

I've had the OBDEleven ever since it first hit the market. It is a MUST have for any Audi enthusiast. I've saved a ton of $$$ on maintenance resets, brake service (rear brake) and having peace of mind just incase that check engine light comes on. Before ANY mods, definitely get this little device.

Something i did in 2-3 minutes on my Multifunction Steering Wheel with the buttons. To my belief the easiest way to do it! Also scanned & cleared with OBD Eleven, but it didnt do anything.
So I went out and bought the obd11 tool and followed your prompts, but it would not reset the inspection service light. Also, do you have to purchase credits in order to do that? It prompted me to that and I purchased 20 credits then try to reset it and it still wouldn't do it. Any advice?

As all sellers never gave the complete information... For those 2 simple tasks you had to pay for it. 10 credits in each operation, and do not always work as that simple. My last reset, oil and inspection I wasted 60 credits due an app malfunction. It is cheaper as a dealer? Yes, it is, but isn't free.

For the 2018 Volkswagen Passat GT you can reset both the oil life and the service reminder inspection now messages in less than one minute using the multifunction screen and steering wheel controls. With the car off hold the master trip reset button turn the color to the on position and in the multifunction display it will give you the option to clear the oil reset message. Click OK and now your service interval is reset for the oil change. For the service now message make sure the car is turned off turn the hazard lights or flashers on then hold the master tripped reset button and while holding the button turn the car to the on position and the option to reset the service now message is displayed on the multifunction display click OK and now you’re all set ready to go no need to pay anything at all for these simple reset procedures

I bought the original a week or so ago and paid for the pro version but I'm not able to do anything in this or the other videos. If I try to do what you explained I have to pay for credits which are $2 a piece just to perform the action. It's reduculous,I tried adjusting the lights as well since I have aftermarket LEDs but it'll asked me to pay additional $2 is this normal?

2014Audi A5 Convertible - Is the Inspection Service due the same as Service Due? I can reset my Oil Service Interval through the MMI but not my "Service Due" light. Will this allow me to reset my Service Due light?

In Truth - yes the device is needed to reset the service interval light. It does work, plus you can “turn on” other features that you may want like windows open / close from the key fob.

Is there a way to reset the inspection reminder to come on for the month your inspection is actually due? Mine's been off since I got the car. It comes on now (March) and my inspection isn't due until July. If I just reset it without changing it, it'll come on again next March when it's (again) not really due. It's annoying.

Hi. thanks for the Tut! I have a 2013 Touareg V8 4.2. it actually has a service reset on the multimedia screen. I have OBDeleven as well. The service reset is for 10000Km, but I'm doing long life for 15k. can you share the long coding codes in order to be able to set the service reminder for 15k? Thanks!!!

I just changed my oil this afternoon on my '16 GTI, and luckily I do have the OBDeleven. (But I haven't attempted to reset the light, so this will save some time!)
On my '12 TDI, the reset was in the dash menue...why would they intentionally make life difficult for their customers? If a dealer tried to charge me $130 to reset, I would leave and never come back!

I noticed that the European B9 models have the option to reset the service interval in the MMI. OBD11 is a good tool, but it is ridiculous that it is necessary in order to do basic maintenance. This must have been at the request of American dealers.

Hey quick question. I've had my obd11 for 2 years clearing service interval was great first time. But it doesn't clear it anymore. It says successful but instrument cluster doesn't reflect this. Obd11 takes my credits but car still shows service due.

This isnt the oil change interval which I can reset myself. Will this tool reset the "Service Due"

You can reset using the adaptation function on obdeleven. 17 Dashboard Adaptation Oil service reset: Channel 02 - enter new value 0 Inspection service reset: Channel 53 - enter new value 0 Channel 55 - enter new value 0
I just bought a 2014 Audi Q5...service due comes on. Now should I really get that checked out in case something is really due? Or just reset it myself and ignore? The dealer that sold it to me (not Audi) swears nothing needs to be done...just reset but says they can't do it..but Audi dealer or service can.. 🤔 I just got 92k miles. Anyone??

That would only apply to MK7 specifically that procedure would not work on all models.

Hey man, can you tell me if it's possible to remove an 'app' that I installed on the MMI? I enabled 'Race' mode using the OBDEvelen application and now I want to remove it so I can take my car to the Audi dealership. Please tell me this is possible...I'm not seeing the option to remove.

That is the method for the MK7. This wouldnt be as applicable there but would be for most other models.
Theres oil change light and a service light. You can do oil change easily with pushing n pulling dash sticks but service light needs a tool hooked to computer theres no way around it, easy $$ for audi vw

Hello (...2015 Audi S6), I do a lot of the service task myself; like filter changes, break fluid, etc. That said, will the new 'onboard digital service history' automatically assume that the relevant service task were complete for the given service interval? Or, does this app ONLY reset the oil-change interval? This is critical, as I live in Germany, and for future resale of a car the service history has to be A-Z complete. Thank you in advance!

This kind of intervation shouldn't required 10 obd 11 credits. The dealer does it when the car needs to do schedule service. It is a waste of money.
Bought OBD11 mainly for this but despites the fact that there is an app for my 1.6 Audi A3 8L (2001, EU) it doesn't work. I found the solution for that with the clock and track reset knobs.
I must say that I'm not really happy with OBD11 at all. It is really slow and opening any modules causes it to basically lock up. :(

Any suggestions on how to install a catch-can in the said car? As you might know, that engine is prone to oil sludge buildup due to condensation. Earlier versions of that same engine even froze because of that.
+blocki many older models have much slower control modules. This can make accessing them more painful. I can't speak to that model as we don't have in in the us so don't have more details than that.

Do not waste your money on this. The app asking you to use credits to be able to reset fault code or do anything else and you have to pay almost $3 us dollar every time. Witch is nonsense
Okay, enjoy paying $80 for the dealer just to turn off the light/reset reminder since $1.30 is SO OUTRAGEOUS. Shit only Bill Gates can afford $1.30, what a terrible device because of this. It's also a shame that in the live coding section you can change anything that costs credits for free by entering it manually. Lazy cheap ass.

No option for me, you have to buy the scan tool for USD 80 with no guarantee that this works on my Audi
I successfully reset the service reminder on my 2014 audi a6 with $10 elm327 obdII that I bought from amazon and I use carista app with that!

Damn it i dont have Android, I just got iPhone so when OBDeleven for iphone ??? I don’t trust Dealer mechanic anymore...My first audi got so many BS before, now i have a new Audi along with the first in my garage! It seems that now i got “ inspection due” that i dont want to bring to dealer for reseting!

This video is little misleading as it implies the only way to reset these lights is with a OBDeleven or VAGCom which is not true. Why not inform people that anyone can reset the service and inspection lights yourself for free using procedures already built into the software in the car? These procedures are available on youtube with a simple search.

I'm sure that works fine for that particular VW model. But with an audi a3 with mms - the button doesn't exist - so manual reset can't be done without vag or odbii. Oil change notice can be cancelled - the service due is tantalisingly displayed - but no reset is available in the mms menu grrr.

it comes with some credits i believe, and i am sure the OBD11 with credit purchases will still be cheaper than a stealership. especially an Audi dealership

Erick R , you can get about 5 credits each day, one for logging on and 4 more for watching ads that you can pretty much close right after they load. Most of the apps are 10 credits, so in two days of logging in, you made up the credits.
I think you might misunderstand what OBDeleven credits are used for. Most of the Apps which require credits are not a feature that exists with vagcom. Most apps are a 1 touch coding feature intended if you dont know how or dont want to make the effort to perform a specific coding. The cost for 100 credits is currently $13.00 this means the cost per service light reset is $1.30. Most people drive enough miles for 100 credits to last the entire life of their vehicle for service resets. With all that said there are plenty ways to get free credits and most importantly if you know how to perform coding and adaptations in vagcom......
You wont need any credits at all.
