Learn to knit socks using the Magic Loop method of knitting in the round.
In this tutorial we will walk through each step of knitting socks on Magic Loop including: casting on and setting up, knitting a heel flap and gusset, knitting the toe, and how to close up your toe using the Kitchener Stitch.
This tutorial accompanies a written pattern that can be purchased on Ravelry & Etsy. (Links below) In the tutorial I will be knitting a size medium from this pattern. If the amounts needed for Small or Large are different from the medium I will put the info at the bottom of the screen.
Pattern is written for Small(Medium, Large) - Circumference 8-9”(9-10”, 10-11”)
A Note on Sizes: The sizes listed are based on the foot circumference and not the foot length. I recommend choosing a size that will allow for 1-2 inches of negative ease to get the best fit. You will knit the sock to the length that you need in order to fit.
If you would like to purchase the written pattern to follow along it is available for only $2.00, you can do so here:

I’m on my second sock now. This was a terrific tutorial-nothing left unsaid. Take it from an educator-the perfectly executed lesson plan!

I'm a crocheter and wanted to start knitting for so long but past attempts failed. I recently mended my grandma's socks and felt I wanna try again. So here I am at 2am, on my second round of my first ever knit project and sock. I feel so close to my grandma. 🧡

That awkward moment when you try on your sock and realize your calf is a little too big for the cuff and now you have to frog the whole thing 🥲

My crochet brain absolutely cannot figure this out!

This is the best video. I have to say you can’t stress this tip enough about making sure the working yarn in thrown up and over your work when beginning each row. I don’t knit like you. I hold the yarn in my right hand and if that yarn ever gets inside that infinity loop it gets so messed up! Very important tip which I don’t think is stressed enough🤪😂Another important thing with magic loop is the set up or the framework..to realize the needles ALWAYS point to right and the working yarn always in the back, also you always pull the back yarn to knit the front needle. I know you know this but I hope this comment helps someone else like me. 😘

I’ve had so much fun knitting my first sock I stayed up until 2 am knitting- after I started the heel flap I couldn’t stop until I’d finished the gusset decreases

I've only been knitting 2 1/2 months and I have been able to knit my very first socks with your video and the written pattern. Thank you, you're an amazing instructor!!

I just knit my first sock, thanks to your excellent tutorial video. I was a teacher for 40 years so recognize a natural instructor when I see one. I hadn’t picked up knitting needles for a few years. The person who invented this magic loop method is a genius! Thanks so much for giving me the confidence to tackle this new territory in my knitting world. 💞

I've been knitting sweaters for years but have been terrified of socks because of the heel turn. This is the BEST video I've ever seen, and now I'm confident I'm ready to tackle a pair of socks!

Well suga, dispite my arthritis and shaky hands, you have gotten me to complete a cuff. Now on to the leg! You are the best teacher❤❤❤

I've tried magic loop videos before but never mastered the technique. Something with your video clicked with me. I sit and tell myself "turn, pull, push". And it works. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the instructions! You're a great teacher. I've only knit socks on dpns and that was 10 years ago. I watched all 3 tutorials and I'm starting with the magic loop. This has given me confidence to knit socks again! I started it yesterday evening and I'm finished with the ribbing and I'm on row 22 of the leg! 🤗
