  • Hey everyone! It's been awhile... I hope everyone had a good holiday! This is an 8-bit version of probably my favorite battle song in the game so far. This is also my first Genshin Impact cover using VRC6, which allows me to use more instruments!
It was a very challenging song, and a lot longer than I'm used to, but I feel like I learned a lot, so it was worth it! I've been hoping to get back to doing more music for a while, but I've had a lot going on. In between all that, I was able to play through the Akitsu Kimodameshi event, and luckily I had been recording my gameplay before I started it because it's no longer available! It's a shame, too, because I thought it was one of the most beautiful events thus far. I hope maybe one day it will return...
As always, thank you so much for listening and all of the kind words of encouragement.

What great work. I think the most amazing part is the melody heard at 01:48. Its like the beat dropping. How long did this entire project take?

Hahaha. ha... Hahaha .... HaahahHaha. Let me tell you. It took. But I'm a newbie so I'm still learning but I learned a lot of new things about video editing in Blender. The song took longer than usual because not only is it the longest song I've covered, but it has more instruments than my previous ones. I think I'm going to stop with the video editing portion and just make an audio visualizer to save time, so I can make more music instead.

if you're able to do this, it must be easy for you to write something like piano sheet music too

I actually started teaching myself piano because I wanted to learn how to play 'To Zanarkand' from Final Fantasy X when it first came out many years ago. I don't think there wasn't any official sheet music for it at the time or maybe I couldn't find it. Your comment makes me think it would be a good idea to write a program that could transcribe the data from the tracker into sheet music form, or perhaps MIDI data that you could import into a DAW to change instruments freely since it's fundamentally the same. I'm at the point where I'm more comfortable writing music in tracker than sheet music, so it would be a good tool for me to use when writing music in other forms.

@@moodscroller Yeah if you could, definitely go for it. I'm not too well versed with the programming/music conversion and creation side of things, but seeing how many views genshin piano music gets, I think being able to share that and other songs via different mediums is only gonna get more eyes on your channel for sure, especially since that game is only gonna get bigger and the music quality is getting better somehow.
