  • Boise Deputy Chief William Bones and Rodney Reider, President of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center today unveiled the newest addition to the BPD patrol fleet, the Pink Ribbon Patrol Car.
Police patrol vehicles are well marked for citizen and officer safety. With the help of the dedicated staff at St. Alphonsus, this patrol car takes on an added mission.
"We've taken the visibility of a police patrol vehicle and given this car an added message of safety. This time it's not awareness of crime prevention. We want to raise awareness of another thief that can steal lives, breast cancer." said Deputy Chief Bones.
"At Saint Alphonsus we consider our community partners critically important," said Rodney Reider, President, Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. "Each day these community partnerships help us do what we do best -- save lives and improve the health of our communities. Our relationship with the Komen Race for the Cure is very important to us as is our partnership with all of our dedicated Emergency Responders and the City of Boise."
About the Pink Ribbon Patrol Car:
    A 2013 Dodge Charger
St. Alphonsus contributed $1,500 to cover the cost of creating the graphics and promotion expenses.
The design was created by John Yarnell at Trademark Sign Company in Boise, the same company that created the re-design of the Boise Police fleet in 2011.
The vehicle will be used for police service calls for patrol, school resource officers and other regular department uses.
The vehicle will be pulled from service when needed and used at community events to promote breast cancer awareness.
