I'm so over the Darth Vader black on everything. I'm ready to go back to white or light gray. I've seen some of the smaller sizes in light gray, but almost all of the taller ones are black.
I have a slightly older (2019) version of that 27U rack, but mine is the upgraded model with 4 cooling fans and temp. sensor, and the LCD screen. Additionally, the back door goes on/comes off just like the front one (same latch/lock, too). Like you, I had to deal with a few minor mfg. defects. I also had to contact Sysracks several times - once due to the wrong cage nuts, then 2 dented fan frames/shrouds and finally a bad LCD screen. All were replaced at no cost and without any hassle. 8 months later, I notified them about two broken plastic door latches, which they promptly replaced (for free). Their customer service was top-notch (my first interaction with them was at 11:30 PM on a Saturday!). I have since replaced all 4 cooling fans with similar, slightly upgraded models. Multiply that fan noise you heard X4. Unfortunately, it didn't really improve with the new fans. However, it's not really an issue since my rack is in an unfinished basement. I added LED light strips like you and many others did, as well as various shelves and a 1U sliding keyboard tray. All in all, it's a great rack.
yeah, got mine in the last few days, (18u, enclosed with pdu and digital display monitor at top), and BOY let me tell you, THEY PACKED THAT MUTHA with TON of tape!!! loved the added foam bumpers at the corners. took me about 45 mins to get 'unwrapped' from all the tape, lmao.
So funny, that's exactly why I got my 9U sysrack by watching TechnoTim. I got the same color white to match better with my Ubiquiti gear and added some of the good casters to roll it in my home office. Yours is looking really nice now.
If you do 3D printing, there are plans out there for printing stationary vane static boost plates that mount inline between the fan and enclosure. Helpful for when you run an array of fans at lower RPM for less noise, helps keep positive pressure in your enclosure!!!😁👍🏻
Nice review. This is the exact rack I am looking at for my AV gear. A question... maybe two, Does the entire rack when fully loaded feel stable when rolling around? I have about a 120 LBS of gear to rack. Do you think Bluetooth, WiFi, and system remote controllers will work through the cabinet?... Once again, good review, very thorough, thanx.
It defitinely will still roll around if load it up and don't lock the wheels. I'm not sure about wireless stuff, though. I haven't tried it to be honest.
The one DB Tech has in this video is rated for 133 pounds according to the site and 180 in others, but typically you want to be more conservative than what catalogue numbers show either way. 120lbs is probably doable without things sagging.
@@JasonsLabVideos MUCH quieter. Still need to add a fan to the bottom, but the fans I got have a built-in controller so I can change the fan speed with the flick of a switch :)
@@DBTechYT In my Wall mounted Rack for the house, i have 2 x 120mm USB fans, the one with the 0-4 switch, i leave it on 1 and it pulls all the warm air right out of the cabinet. Working 3 years now ! Quiet too !!
Ah! Eyeballing your rack configuration it really looked like you were over the 133 lbs weight limit so I thought you might be using some newer variant of that Sysracks model with a higher load capacity. We have very similar gear that we sought to install in this rack model but ran up against the weight limit with just a router, keystone patch panel, fiber switch, 3 fully loaded NASs (75lbs), UPS (35lbs), and a couple of common racks accessories (shelving, power distribution). Your rack really looks good on the set. Thanks for reaching back on this old thread.
I don't now if you remember. Last video I ask how can I use cloud flare tunnels on proxmox. I did not ask it correctly. Do I have to install on proxmox? Or every VM or lxc individual that I am using? I build a PC just for proxmox thanks to your videos. So thanks. P.S this is an addiction. Thanks again
Looking great! I dig the black version!
Thanks!!

Just bought one and used your video for setup instructions, and it was much easier because of this video. Thank you for the upload!
Great to hear! I'm really glad the video helped!

I have had the identacle rack for over a year I love it, went from 42u EMC rack to the 18U 35"full rack.

Vanes are at a reverse/ opposite angle of the fan vanes to help create a higher static positive pressure.
Good proof of concept on this channel!!!:

About to take this on in a few hours and I'm not sure if I'm excited or scared 🤣. Great video as usual - been a fan for years!
Those are both equally fair feelings to have about the setup process
Great video. What did you use for the LEDs inside the sysrack?
Thanks!! I've got these lights in there: amzn.to/4gjSV7Y (affiliate link)
Nice video!! Can you do another video specifically on your journey for the leds installation on the rack?
I needed a place to put everything. This is my 4th rack. The first 3 were open-air racks. they were fine, but I wanted something closed
they should have given you the option for the door throw ... left or right
yeah. there might be a way to make that happen, but I didn't dig into it too much
Great setup thanks for sharing
That top fan is insufficient for a fully loaded 27RU rack., I would suggest cutting out 4x 200mm fan holes and install some 200mm fans.
Nice setup! My question on the back panel is there a hole for the cord to fit through if a computer is sitting on the top of the rack?
There are holes top and bottom that you can use to pass cables 😀
Ahhhhhh your gonna make me buy one now

Awesome Video, IMO put in a 5V 120mm fan :) thats what i do !
That's exactly what I did :)

I know it has been awhile, but wondering how much weight you have in your rack. Looks like more than the 133 lbs rating that was given to us.
I'm pretty sure I have nowhere near 133 pounds of hardware in the rack. I've got 3 NASes, a couple of mini PCs, a couple of switches, and a UPS

Wow VERY BASED
Cool new toy. I have a 5 DLLs Walmart plastic rack. Hope one day I can get one like yours. But I am still on diapers compared to you.

You can install it in the root of your Proxmox installation, but I don't think it would be best practice from a security standpoint.
The RGB takes away from the seriousness of it all....
Never said it was meant to be "serious". And I can turn it on and off whenever I want :)
@@DBTechYT I think it looks awesome. Nice clean setup.
