A few years ago, I attended a concert with Baltsa in Vienna where she got (rightly so, in my opinion), very agitated when somebody was trying to take a picture during one of her Greek songs. You are very lucky not to have been 'caught' filming this, especially at the Vienna Staatsoper... ;-)

Baltsa hates pictures. The lights makes her mad. She is more and more closed into her world of peace. Rare interviews. The last was very Baltsa: no news are good news? who knows.
2018 Elektra in Athens. 50 years singing. She is still amazing after all...🍀😀

Thanks for this wonderful souvenir! I was at the performance on 25 Juin and after the performance, I went backstage to have Agnes sign my second copy of Christiana Baumann's book. Agnes signed my first copy after Italiana in London in January 1988 and that copy has now mottled with age in the humidity of the Far East. Of course Agnes then and now are very different but the one thing that has never changed is the magnetism of her stage presence. She is still formidable!

No doubt, that I could get mad when I think about missing this years series ... It is almost astonishing, how she ist still able to "force" her voice. Her part is not easy to sing.

Baltsa is a phenomenon. She will si g this part again next march in a new production in Karlsruhe. Great Great singer!

I was there for her. I am a big fan of this Lady. This singer is 30 min. on the stage in the biggest monoligue ever. Incredible woman.

Tour de force to Baltsa in thos monologue of 23 minutes. And her partner in scene, is the amazing Polaski, incredible as Elektra. The stage version is very strong and causes a deep immertion in the Opera. Great. 2019 in Karlsruhe. There we go.

She opened a new Opera House in Athens this year with Elektra. It is on youtube. Only live recording. Not in motion. But you can rnjoy her power at 73 years olf. That's why I live her so much.
