What hits me the most in this kind of match is that while we humans always think that Stockfish is playing so perfectly that is unbeatable... new version of Stockfish always proves that previous version of Stockfish was not THAT strong and accualy could be somehow completly destroyed... Now imagine being high level GM memorizing all of those Stockfish lines for years... and than new version comes and you find out that what you have learned for years will be completly destroyed by people that will learn with newer version... So you are forced to start learning everything over and over again whenever newer version of Stockfish comes online.
The power of the newest Stockfish stems rather from its depth of calculation in middlegame and endgame scenarios. Therefore even with a bit older version of the engine, the strategic insights it provided in the late opening phase remain extremely useful.
@@robitibor777 I highly doubt it. Look carefully at evaluation bar of a new stockfish - it already DISLIKE second move of black- saying basicaly to older stockfish you already made a little strategic mistake. And it keeps on going worse - on move 9 for black - new stockfish already heavly dislike black's position. If 9 moves sequence is not valid for new stockfish, you can put all what you learned with the old one into trash. Those GMs in some lines are memorized into 30 moves deep.

You need to play as BLACK against your older version... seems like playing as WHITE always has advantages...
They force the engines to play prearranged moves in the openings, that’s why what you say is a bit correct. If you let Stockfish which is the most powerful engine in the world play freely against itself with black or white pieces, it doesn't matter, he/it will draw. I've tried this scenario with Stockfish several times. In other words, since Stockfish is the strongest engine in the world, if let to play freely, he/it will win against any engine with white or black pieces equally.
@@kamarberrada4371 Stockfish 16.1 could still play against Stockfish 16 as black and have the same prearranged moves. I think they showed this game (stockfish 16.1 as white) so that its a win for the new engine. With switched colors and same pre-moves, I wonder if stockfish 16.1 would have been able to get a draw at least against stockfish 16 playing as white.
@@istvanmatolcsi1786Generally with prearranged moves, Stockfish playing with black pieces draws more than it loses. Sometimes it wins. With prearranged moves and black pieces, it draws more and wins more than other engines close to Stockfish do.
