I would think manufactures are sending you tools for review because you do a very good job displaying and explaining their product. If I were in the market for this tool I'd buy based on your review. :)

Thank you very much. So far that just isn't the case. I see other "reviewers" or are basically doing ads in the guise of a review that seem to earn some favor but yjay could just be me reading too much into things. Luckily my Snap-on distributor is a good guy and likes what I do so he loaned me this for this express purpose. He knew I didn't care for the last one and wanted to hear my thoughts on the new model.

@@HotRodHippie I think they will come. I've had a few sponsors and I'm a much smaller channel. Good luck.

Great video! Thanks! Any news about videos downloads or it will be on the SD card or in the camera? Could you suggest good qualities, competitors, for automotive services, like one or two models?

Hey great video, I've seen some of these on ebay going for around $700. Do you think at this price point is it worth it or is there something else for that price you would recommend?

    Thx for the walkthrough..
agree overpriced for what your getting.
a 320x240 sensor and some carry compartment holster.. it would be way more attractive as the big wide-screen, and overall design looks nice, but a 60x80 res for a close to 2k device.. is a mockery. .. come again Strap On.

Yeah, I like the improvements from their first model but they really need a better thermal resolution at this price point. Hopefully the next model gets it nailed at a fair price. (one can dream)

It sells for about 1k to 1100 now, so while still expensive it's not quite the champagne pricing that it entered the market with.

Is that the price your dealer offered you? I'm asking because the price I looked up was... pretty steep. Thank you in advance

I have the flir...didn't have the budget for the snap on one and the flir does enough for what I do

    • @HotRodHippie
      @HotRodHippie  5 років тому

Which Flir unit do you have? I'm debating which unit will be in my arsenal.

@@HotRodHippie FLIR TG165...got it for less then 300 cad
I do construction and part time mechanic work so I use it to windows and doors
making sure your house well sealed is quite important here since it is -30 c most days

Oh yes. I used the previous Snap-on one to check my house last winter. Found my nice windows were badly installed, lots of air leaks around the casements. So despite having good windows, I have to plastic them in the winter.

I can see the value in some things but yes a fair amount of stuff is awfully hard to justify.
      Thank you very much 👍

I've paid less for Snap-on toolboxes. But that's what you get with high end diagnostic tools.
