I was very skeptical about this working. I thought for sure that I would have to buy a new board. I’m here to say this actually works. Thank you for sharing this .
Thank you for this video. It worked exactly as you suggested. It even didn't work the first attempt. Gave it a bit more effort when "tapping"/"wacking" those little relays. Not sure if that was the ticket but I was back up and running after attempt number 2. Very happy and thankful for the help. First time ive ever left a comment on a video but felt compelled. thank you again. Less than an hour fix and zero dollars spent. I owe you a drink
My 15+ year old LG had the same issue and I thought it was toast. Board and relays were in a different location, but it was an unbelievably simple fix! Thanks!
I don't think dirty contacts is the issue, if anything it would prevent the unit from doing anything. Stuck relay(s) much more likely, takeaway is to tap them fairly hard. They're stuck after all.
I tried this with my LG. Could not fully disconnect clips from relays, but pulled up enough for me to spray CRC electronic cleaner in there, tapped each with a section of small diameter pvc pipe. Voilá. It works again Thanks for the tip!
Was close to buying a new control panel. But I came across this video. It worked for me. Went to buy wd40. Took everything apart. And it didn't work the first time. So i took everything apart again and added harder taps and wd40 in some other places and boom. Appreciate the video.
Mine just started doing that.... I was getting ready to leave this morning and I heard something that sounded like someone shut my dryer door so i opened the dryer door, turned the power off and shut it back and its still running.... But what could that "THUD" be?... do you have any ideas? I dont Thud now, it only did it once.
WOW... thanks! I am totally blown away, but your video and instructions are spot on! My dryer is a 10 year old dryer and it is actually branded as a Kenmore, but from what I understand it is made by Samsung. The board was in the exact same place as yours. I tapped on the larger capacitors, and added a dab of WD-40 and it is working as it is supposed to. Can I ask if you have ever needed to repeat this process and if so how long between fixing did it last before the process needed to be repeated? Thanks, again!
I'm trying, like crazy, to get the relays unplugged. I don't have the strength to pull them. Also, couldn't unplug the dryer so i just shut the breaker off. Why aren't you here to help? But, thanks for posting.
BTW... the first connectors I disconnected (big white one in the corner) was a pain to get off. Wiggled and pulled and finally got it off. Kinda felt like there was maybe some corrosion built up on those connectors. WD40 and off and on a bunch didn't do it on first try. But gave it more liberal wacks and felt like that was the trick. Thanks again
OMG please help! Same exact model! I changed the heating element and we ran into a different problem. It now when it’s drying on a cycle after a few minutes it drops to 1 min. Any ideas?
Agreed with moh man. It's the moisture sensor (the long metal strips in the lint trap plastic enclosure) that are either dirty, shorted or didn't get plugged back in.
You use wd40 on a squeaky bicycle. It leaves a residue. Using it on electronics will fry them. Using it on a dryer can cause a fire. Only use non residue contact cleaner on electronics. The contacts inside relay are burnt and arcing. They have a higher resistance and will draw more current until the solder joint melts. Very difficult to replace this relay as samsung has a conformal coating sealing them in.
Relays contacts weld themselves together. You have to replace the relay. Only 1 is responsible for the motor running. Obviously you don't know what you are talking about
@@joshcobb4100 I hear you... Yep... I have a board enroute to our place as I type this. If I knew if my Air Force supervisor was reachable, I'd ask what he used to remove the conformal coating from his Dodge van EMC (engine management computer) so's I could replace the relay. He was rather crafty like that, could fix anything.

You’re welcome! Glad it worked!!
Thank you so much! In under 10 minutes my dryer is working now!!
Fantastic!
Watched your video ... and 10 min later my dryer was fixed !!! Thank you a bunch.

Worked. Can’t believe it was that simple. Mine was a different model. I was ready to buy a new one. Great video.
14 month old LG here. This saved me $$ for sure! Only had to work on 2 clips. Thank you!

Awesome!!

I tried this with my LG.

Voilá. It works again

Wow this truck worked on my LG dryer, which was doing exactly.
Thanks dear friend 👍🏻

Omg. So simple to fix. Thank you. So many other bad or partial videos.

Thanks bro you made my day ,it worked hit with a small metal on all relay and cleaned with wd40 all contact, and it works

I've been using mine this way going on 2 years without having to repeat the process! Glad it helped!
Good question
Thank you so much for this great video... Saved us buying a new motherboard

thanks! appreciate the video. now fixed. used QD Electronic Cleaner vs WD40.
Easy and fast fix. Thanks!!!
Thanks! You just turned me into an appliance repair woman! #ILoveUA-cam 😊
Yay!!! 💯
Definitely trying this tomorrow
Worked like a charm 👍
You're a genius!! Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
They don't end up in the landfill, but recycled. Thanks for the video
Where I live they crunch them up and throw them in the dirt.

Thanks great help from you there
Thank you very much I did everything you did and it work
Thank you
Great!!!
OK, sure. But you didn't tell us what led you to the relays as the source of the problem?
This tutorial worked, although i didnt have to use wd-40, which is lucky
OMG please help! Same exact model! I changed the heating element and we ran into a different problem. It now when it’s drying on a cycle after a few minutes it drops to 1 min. Any ideas?
Did you reconnect thr moisture sensor? Try timed dry, if it works, it's just your moisture sensor thats either dirty or disconnected.
Agreed with moh man. It's the moisture sensor (the long metal strips in the lint trap plastic enclosure) that are either dirty, shorted or didn't get plugged back in.
If you run it empty on a sensor cycles it will quickly jump to cool down and shut off. Try it on a timed cycle .
Thanks man
I have the same issue in my dryer
Dude the problem is the relay , wd40 will do nothing , just change the relay , tapping it will, solve the problem TEMPORARILY.

Exelente video gracias me ahorre dinero
I had issues today run no stop
After I fixed my dyer then my hot water not working but I fixed both them
THAN YOU!!!!
YOU'RE WELCOME!
So mind powers on bam i press the button right but it wont turn off i have to unplug it from the cord wtf
Yep, watch the video for tips.
Relays contacts weld themselves together. You have to replace the relay. Only 1 is responsible for the motor running. Obviously you don't know what you are talking about
Fixed nothing. You'll be back in there tapping on them again, every few loads.
And for some people...They will tap for years lol. Sometimes you gotta make a dollar stretch....and that's the point of the ol "smack it" solution 😉

Doesn’t ducking work
Did you whack it really hard? You gotta whack it a few times….
