- On a farm in Connersville, Indiana, a horse once considered the "runt" of the breeding stock was raised -- with the help of a little girl -- to become a champion.Steve Hartman has more.
Why does this make me want to cry a bucket of happy tears for this girl!?
Toni Blough, if you cry I’ll cry with you too! I’ve watched this upload three times in the past and kept myself together.... There is nothing better in this world than seeing the underdog win no matter what. Love from the uk.xx
Disney fairy tale material right here. 💝💝💝

@Tessa Kanotz You know that, how? No way would that young lady allow her horse to be abused. Some horses love to run and compete with other horses. Secretariat ring a bell? Seabiscuit?
Probably because this girl is so damn cool shes like one if those trainers in the boxing movies that believe in the underdog and make things happen. But man her parents freaking rock! What a cool thing to do for your kids
That horse won because he knows the connection the girl and him have... Horses and dogs are incredibly amazing!
Wow, what a story !....She gave $50K to charity?....What a great story. This world needs more stories like this.
She’s my cousin, and she earned a lot and I mean a lot of money... so I’m pretty sure that she saved quite a bit of money
@CLUB BRENDAN she probably got a bunch of money from breeding offers too
@@Sara-ci6ef Where did she donate the money to?

This is a story of tremendous love between a dad and his daughter. Beautiful ,What great people. Yes it made me cry!
awesome good job little girl you can do whatever your heart will allow you!
...and pocket!...
@@rosemarydudley9954 Did you watch the video? The family was not wealthy. That 11 year old girl had great faith in that small horse and they won a championship. She donated away half of the winnings and bought a small farm with the rest.
I'm glad she got what she wants but I've been riding for 10years and I still don't have a horse.
I wish I got whatever I wanted 😭
You really have to work for it...and it's hard, believe me.
Daddy needs to run a "small" logistics company.
@@dchawk81 Why don't you invest in yourself and start up a company like he did ? It takes work, a lot of it. Hope you get back to us with your success. GOD Bless !
I hate the racing industry for treating most of their horses like garbage, but harnessed racing seems a little better since you don't have to worry about the horses ever getting shocked with a taser to get 'em to go faster. Also even if the horse really wasn't a racer, you could've always used him in dressage, or casual trail riding, showmanship, and in-hand-trail. Or even possibly western eventing.
Or anything Western since it's horse riding to not just english
Emmy Harrop no it doesn’t! They are straping that horse’s face down and making him only trot. And how old is he?! Little yearlings and fouls are NOT meant to be doing that! That little girl is basically killing her horse.
@@tailsnatched4642 I didn't know about getting their faces strapped down, even tho it didn't look like that in the video. But to fair, pulling something is a lot easier to do than to have a rider on you, but I didn't know they were also being raced young, I don't really know that much about harnessed racing. I just know that the horses being raced, many if not all, are being treated like garbage and have most likely all been ridden very young.
Emmy Harrop hey, I don’t much either, but I think she said the horse was....two? Idk, but he is still young regardless. And that could REALLY damage his back and legs. I’m not saying the little girl is a horrible person who abuses horses, I just think she has no idea what she actually doing and should educate herself before putting her beloved horse through such pain. Thanks for agreeing ❤️🙈
@@tailsnatched4642 I completely agree. She might love her horse, but she might not know any better. If anything she's just learning from her dad, her dad might not be the best. Who knows, he didn't want the horse and wanted to sell him because he didn't sport a pedigree.
What a great story about faith and believing in your dreams!! And what a generous spirit too. Great parenting! ❤❤❤😊😊
This is called: "Pulling Your Vision into existence"!
that horse ran for the love and faith of a little girl
How cool! Steve always finds these super inspiring stories. Not sure how but man are they good
I LOVE This Story! ❤
Good for her. He won for her, she kept her faith in him.
It’s important to be careful with the horse racing thing, take the luck you’re given and don’t rush headfirst into anything because you succeeded before. Hopefully our four legged Steve Hartman will win a race sometime!
The way her story came together though, her little horse and her dream, it seems like it was kind of... pre ordained, almost? She has a very set goal and it fell into place so easily with her horse, and the goal afterwards is certainly achievable. I’m gonna see if I can take a look at Got Faith’s pedigree, commenters are making me curious!
Best on the road yet for me ❤️😊❤️
Wow, shows you size doesn't matter but what's in the heart
Indiana where you at

How absolutely wonderful

Just by the name
this little girl gave her longshot colt, I think God just made her dream come true.❤
I cant stop crying
What a lovely story
This should be a MOVIE😭
wonderful kid
Have faith that's what I got out of this story. Even if you do feel like a runt. If you feel like the world is the against you, Have faith!
Great story
When I first got my kitten frankie, I was told he wouldn't live through the next two weeks as he was a runt to the extreme, 9 years and 25 pounds later, that little brute is a wrecking machine, goes after raccoons, coyotes, if it gets near him, it's his
Heard this many times about runts. Sometimes they're just cramped in the womb but when they get out, stand back.
Well I can't believe she gave half of her winnings away to charity. As much as her heart may have been in the right place I think she made a wrong decision. Give 10% away to charity. But real estate is very expensive college is very expensive she should have put that money aside for college in real estate especially if she wants a horse farm. Not to mention horse feed is going to be very expensive for the rest of the life of that horse. Doesn't her dad getting any proceeds considering he had to pay for all the training and equipment Etc on that horse? At a given have to my dad and then maybe 10% away to charity.
Wrong decision to you perhaps. I see where you're coming from, but not everyone thinks that way.
I enjoyed this. Lol. Poor Steve Hartman. Both of them
Gotta have faith 🙏🏼
A little horse with the heart of a lion
What a cute story
Ya gotta have faith.

Love it !!!such a great story ❤
My horse is a champion barrel racer
ahh... would love to know what happened to the mare????
Lotta gaps in the story
U Go Brianna👍👊
This reminds me of Seabiscuit´s story
HORSE RACING IS ABUSIVE.
not all horses are abused. a lot of them are treated like royalty. just because some parts of the industry is bad doesnt mean it all is
@@alaniwong1888 No animals are meant to be raced. It's wrong.
Toasty Toast yeah and humans aren’t meant to drive cars. theres proper way of horse racing without it being detrimental to the horse. i agree some people in the horse racing industry shouldn’t be near horses but that doesn’t mean the whole industry is bad
@@alaniwong1888 the thing is, humans driving cars is their decision, horses racing or competing in any way, isnt theirs
if only this little girl knew about the feet/leg damage that racing causes to these young horses, and the extreme pain they are left to deal with for the rest of their early retirement.
awh!
i d love to turn those girls into champion winning fillies
Why do horses need 2 be 'champions'? For whom?
Rocky be like
Reminds me seabiscuit
Horse the girls are the toughest woman on the planet The ride The 600 kg Beasts they get thrown they kicked they bitten and they just go again because a Little pathological tip. I am one of those Woman. I broke both of my ankles because of a horse that got stung by bees. It’s not the horses fault.
Guys ima be honest in the harness horse Industry this happens all the time I’ve had plenty of horses race in both the New York and New Jersey sire stakes it’s not her horse is any kind of world class animal.. but cool story I guess
Kids can gamble legally. Nice
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😇😇👍
This baby had some great bloodlines - i actually handled one of his grandsires - she was a very lucky girl
But many don't look far back into a horses bloodlines when they judge them for potential, just their sire and dam, heck even Seabiscuit was judged poorly despite his pedigree among others.
This girl is one of my friends and she is still a wonderful person
LOL, he actually named the horse Steve Hartman?
His dad horse not the daughters horse
Well, Steve can put down a check on his list: getting a horse named after himself. 🤣
hey.... Seabiscuit was small too. So why not MJB?
Shout out to Seabiscuit!
ElectricAngel19 great movie

"Steve Hartman, the person" makes me laugh out loud
He is very witty and has great timing in humor lol
but,,,,,he's gonna win - YEAH
THE STORY THAT MAKE MOVIES GREAT
I LOVE IT - DAD GOT A HORSE AND NAMED HIM STEVE HARTMAN
That’s really sweet. A really nice story. Although, the horse does have “a pedigree”. In fact, he has a pretty good pedigree. It’s just that somebody overlooked it when they sold the mare. They were very blessed to get that mare. The sire and dam of this horse were both pretty successful and won a fair chunk of change too. There’s a long list of really good horses and champions in the pedigree too. But just like many of the great horses, he had a family that people didn’t really notice was good. So glad this young lady was able to get this little colt and make him happy so he would perform really well. It goes to show what happiness can do for a person and an animal.
I feel like liking this post wasn't enough. I love this post.😂
Here's hoping he's not a gelding yet
I took care of a tiny filly in Florida that won lots of Stake and open races, set a couple track records. My friend bought a runt filly in Michigan that earned $800,000 lifetime. Another friend bought a runt colt in Ontario that broke the track record at Windsor in his first race. Remember, It's not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog.
Good time and Albatross both had great careers, and neither was very big
There were people who didn't believe Secretariat wouldn't run like he did...Miss Penny believed in him...
Secretariat, The greatest Ever ! My Fav. 😁
Carolyn Medlock, Secretariat loved to run/race and he hated losing. He was also a goofball when not racing. Eddie Sweat was his lifelong keeper. Eddie had many stories of Secretariat goofing around and doing pranks quite often.
That is the movie version. Actually Miss Penny didn't think he would be a Triple Crown horse because he was a Bold Ruler. She thought he would "trip on his pedigree" as a 3 year old. His jockey, Ronnie Turcott, was the one that believed and told her that Secretariat would go a mile and a quarter.
what a beautiful girl and go mjb got faith he's a beautiful horse they both teach us to learn from o ye. of little faith
Love this story.
Horses feel love.
What an amazing little girl and her horse! If you only believe. I love your Faith. Out of the mouth's of babes. May God bless you and keep you.
What a great video.........
You got to go back to Seabiscuit and Secretariat to understand. The "runt" had a heart of a champion but no one to race against. He did not run just to run he ran to beat other horses.
Bill Smith, Secretariat was not a runt, though. He was huge and his handlers/jockey always called him "big red."
HAPPY DAYS! I love a Happy ending. Hold on to your dreams and never let them go.
Believe and it will happen. Think positive!
You can not make up a better story, congrats to the girl much earned, and well deserved.
All of these On The Road stories are so heartwarming!😍
I have horses well my mare is now going to have a baby
Movie Deal ? I want to watch it .. anyone knows ?
This is the BEST feel -good story EVER !! Such a nice change from the doom and gloom the media thinks we want to hear. Personally I’d much rather watch positive shows like this . I know the bad stuff is out there , I don’t need a constant reminder of that , I need to hear that there is good in the world

I’m happy for her and her lovely horse but horse racing is abusive
Expand? Explain? I don know much about horses but that doesn't seem right
No it’s not lmao.
Claudia S Sophie I sortave correct. Some forms of horse racing is abusive. A lot of horses get killed racing since when a horse breaks a leg it just gets euthanized most of the time. Green screens cover these scenes up at racing. So yes horse racing can be considered abusive but this depends on what type it is.
Oh my gosh, I’m so proud of that girl and her horse! Perfect story. Truly. ❤️
Beautiful people, beautiful horse.
This makes my heart so happy! Sounds like my horse. He knows how much love and faith I have for him. I didn't give up on him and now he won't give up on me!
This is absolutely one of my favorite stories it reminds me of one of the horses at the rescue that I volunteer at you just Gotta have faith in them
I want to see this movie!!!
CBS please keep these coming
this is honestly such a heartwarming story
Why do so many people not see how cruel horse racing really is? Thousands of horses are injuried and/or killed every year. Just because thy have no choise because they cant say no or stop it.
I think it is a very sad video because I know how most of this horses end up after they are not winning any more.
Just to make it clear, I am not blaming or hating on the girl or her parents, they probably dont know any better.
I love Steve Hartman’s stories
No wtf why are you racing a horse the other owners out there are horrible. She’s so sweet but the other owners are horrible. Hopefully we can stop horse racing and have good owners like her but not the others race horse owners.
TOTALLY out of the subject why is that guy with a red shirt and a hat look a little salty
Barf horse racing this vid is just showing horse racing is ok 🤮🤮
i would love to have seen the face of steve hartman when he found out a horse was named after him

The faith of a child. Wow! Glory to God.
Amazing !! Its her love for the horses her faith and trust and ofcourse her fathers support did wonders and i luved what she says even if her horse came last she would still find him the best and luv him!! A sweet simple life of passion i just luved listening to it ❤️
There should really be a movie made for this story.
