Greetings from one of the locals🇩🇰. DUDE! 😲 We're a Lutheran country, NOT a Catholic one. So of course that Church is NOT Catholic (Homer DOH 🙄 ) , even though we have Churches from everywhere. Freetown Christiana was taken over by Hippies in 1971/72, after the military left the barracks. There was no war, just a takeover of empty buildings😊. Tourists love the idea that Christiana is autonomous and doesn't have to comply with Danish law. That's a Myth! The police just cleared "Pusher Street" - once again - a few days ago. They have the right to creative freedom, up to a certain point, but it goes no further than that. City Council work with Christiana and tolerate the Freetown 😀! Attracts tourist who buy (mostly legal) stuff, that generates taxes ! Christiana has certain freedoms in relations to how they build Houses, rent out, or open a legal business (Weed and drugs are not legal). But they still have to pay TAXES! In Denmark everyone pay's their fair share. Even Freetown Christiana 😎 ! It's a tourist trap 🤣 ! Copenhill is a far better place to visit! The Cleanest Wast disposal plant in the World, and it has a Ski slope 😲😲
