This Heart Sutra also help ones to increases in wisdoms, compassion and it's for everyone, no matter what system of beliefs you come from. I've just been checking out the various versions of the heart sutra on UA-cam. This is the first one that sounds real. Sorry to say, but all the other versions I heard were shlocked up and sounded commercial to my ears. These monks sound authentic. I follow a Theravada tradition. It seems simpler and more down to earth to me than the Mahayana schools. That's just me; metta to all fellow followers of the Buddha way, whatever your path is.
@Prajnaparamita I'm kind of the opposite myself; oriented to the Theravada path, but I love the Prajnaparamita and other authentic Mahayana scriptures.
@Prajnaparamita Hello. I'm not really qualified to answer. However, one of the five lay precepts is to refrain from killing. That is usually interpreted as not eating animals (which obviously, have been killed), but don't take my opinion as the final word. Theravada practice is just as religious as you want to make it. Isn't that the same in Mahayana? Both Vehicles have different branches and ways of practice. I think it depends on the country. Theravada in Thailand is going to be different from Theravada in Sri Lanka; Mahayana in Tibet is different from Mahayana in Japan. I hope that sheds some light, but please don't take my word for any of this. Ask someone more knowledgeable. Metta to you.
