What a tempting intro quality instrument, the price, appointments and a Flight, with SUS overseeing quality. Not surprised it’s a hit. Sounds lovely and I wish Flight and SUS all the best. Thanks for the great review and have a great weekend.
Great review Baz. So very pleased that I managed to get one of the first batch, been considering an "acoustic" baritone for some time. Looked at the Iris but just couldn't get over that blue pick guard (even though love blue guitars - a lot!). Was about to hit the button on an Aurora when Alex's post announced the Carabao Lite. Having an original Carabao Tenor that I'm incredibly pleased with, thought why not. And so pleased with it. Your review does great justice to this wonderful instrument.
Sounds beautiful Baz. You know I am after baritone. I am going to find aurora on your channel, maybe solid mango fireball, as I found it on different channel. Great uke input from you.
I love a Baritone maybe a little touch of colour maybe a darker binding but that’s just my personal taste but what a lovely instrument for under £200. Another great review Baz 👍
WOW! A Baz-smile-inducing, SUS-exclusive 199-pound baritone 🤩. If I weren’t already awash in instruments and in the US instead of the UK, I would be at the store camping out Iike people do for iPhone releases 😂 So you new baritone players and lucky UKers won’t have me to compete with. OTOH after hearing it, who knows-may place an international order one day!
Another really good bang for buck instrument, you're on a roll. IMO it would have looked nicer with darker binding but oh well. You know what might be cool looking, stain the pick guard but still let the grain show through. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
I have the solid wood version of the Carabao baritone and love it. Was twice the price of this lite version but worth it for me. This looks great value for the price though and no wonder it sold out quickly. I have a Flight Phantom tenor and both are excellent in material and workmanship. Another good review 👍
Yes Baz they look and sound great 👍 I watched Alex's video when they got them in. Didn't have a lot of time to think about getting one. They'd sold them all... 😂
What's not to like and at that price, with quality assured coming from SUS, it's a bit of a steal! Sounds great too. 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for another eye opening review/preview Baz. Stay well mate! 👍🏻
I don’t play a baritone but I like the sound of good baritones. I like the looks of this ukulele as I see you do. I do not like pickups but that is just me. I like the slit head on this size. I would like it in the Tenor. The price here in the US is good. I really like the sound of this one…. Thanks for an another excellent review…..DOC
Not in the market for another baritone, but if I were, I would prefer a pin bridge. Just prefer a design in which the method of string attachment is helping to hold the bridge in place, as opposed to seemingly trying to tear it off. I also prefer to control the pickup with a foot pedal or at the amp, rather than gizmoing up the instrument. Very nice price point, though.
So you didn't like it. 🤣🤣🤣 Looks really sweet, sounds really sweet, and your rave review puts it over the top. I will get on the waitlist immediately. Hope shipping to USA is reasonable!
Love the chocolatey wood, but this one's not for me... unless you swap out the tuners (save cost by skipping the phantom soundhole etching), slim down the head joint, bevel the body edges.... That oughta do it.
Only ever do when it's a solid electric OR if the plugged in performance is poor - reason being - the sound you would hear on video would be entirely dependent on the amp I use and the microphone. The plugged in performance on this is good - sounds just like the acoustic tone, but louder - as it should
@@GotAUkulele Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. Allow me to rephrase: considering that these are two instruments with very similar dimensions and price, the choice may lean heavily on aesthetics. But from a technical and sound perspective, have you noticed any substantial differences? Are there any important features to consider if one is undecided between the two?

They might have disappeared from the shelves due to the possibility of being tuned to the first four strings of a guitar - which might suit guitarists wanting a change ?
Really nice price for this ukulele. I love that SUS put it out there for a quality affordable ukulele ! Nice review !
Amazing price - can think of only a small handful cheaper that I would even consider and most of those are all laminate.
199!? That is an incredible price for such a fine ukulele! Kudos to Flight! Beautiful instrument and, as usual, a great review. Thanks, Baz!
Yep - superb value!

thanks Mike!
I bought one of these. Loving it so far! It's my first baritone. :-)
Enjoy!
Tried to get this when it was available for a day. 🧐. Will have to wait now.
Yep - more to come - took everyone by surprise on popularity - think half the baritones went before Alex even got a video up!
That put a smile on your face Baz! Great review, ukulele, sound and ptice!
Did indeed!

I enjoy your videos so much. I bought one at a pawn shop, learning from you to buy a nice one. Well done.
Thanks!
Ooooohhh!!! 😍
Good thing I'm on the SUS mailinglist

I was thinking the animal but, yes, I remembered the carabao mango. 😂Like that variety 😋

Not bad shouts those!
@@GotAUkulele If those pick guards are going to come detached SUS could have some fun with those.
I got one before they sold out. It's my first Bari too and I love, love, love it!
Good choice!
Bought one of these on a whim. Don't regret it one bit. Cracking uke for the price. Great review. 🙏
I’m always a fan of baritone’s and Flight has made some nice ones. I can see how this one is flying off the shelves. Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!

I will be in the October rush for one of these!
Suspect many people will be! I'd ask SUS if they have a reserve list!
Thanks, I have asked the question.
Yes Baz they look and sound great 👍 I watched Alex's video when they got them in. Didn't have a lot of time to think about getting one. They'd sold them all... 😂

Nice uke, nice review. I always enjoy ‘ukulele review day’ - always the same, always different! Thanks.

I misread the title at first and for a moment I hoped to see a shiny green, wedge shaped instrument like the 1960 car 😁
I agree Barry Flight really need to create a spec with no pick up in. I know it's entirely subjective but I think it spoils it. Great price though. 👍
Absolutely
Wasn't the pickup part of the original SUS design brief as Alex explained here ua-cam.com/video/cLWFGWAL8Qw/v-deo.htmlsi=KBf1dUxxKJU9KXuU
@@AndyFryUK Yes - I say that in the video. Still not my choice.
Apologies missed that.

I believe SUS are pretty good with international shipping
Hey buddy .....Ukulele sounds solid
Indeed - blindfold test, i'd doubt anyone would know the back and sides were laminate

Sorry - there is no etching on this?
@@GotAUkulele In the video review, it looked almost not there! ;-)
@@johnchastain7890 I think you are commenting on the wrong video - this is the Carabao lite!
@@GotAUkulele You've finally done it: overloaded the uke lobe of my brain! 😂
Wonder if it has a truss rod
It does
Very good, but thought you might have run it thru an amp ...

Which one is better? Flight Iris BK Baritone or Flight Carabao Lite Baritone?
I never do 'best' or 'better' - they are very different looking instruments.

All baritones are tuned like that? No, I think it's down to it being a) Flight and b) a SUS exclusive
In the States we pronounce it ka-ra-bay-oh LOL...
