For those who have a Sub or other sports Rolex and want the Laureato as a change of pace, just know that the bracelet will not feel as substantial.
@@marcnaidu5804 Thats a great question, I will ask them for sure, got a good conatact at them. I also was invited to their HQ in Switzerland. I guess because the brand is independent now (or it will be soon), the production of this year is maybe will drop a bit...
Looks brilliant, like it better than AP or PP... buy it while it is still available. AP and PP is really for investment... most people buy AP and PP to make money. This one is for wearing and appreciation.
Agree absolute ! I love it too. For me - who has wider wrist - 40 mm aqua or nautilus is small. 42 mm is okay but too much money for sure. AP is great in size for me and of course that is an amazing watch but this GP is amazing as well, love it in every ways. So yeah, I support it and the brand and you are right, I am wearing it! :)
Thank you for a great review - I am heavily considering getting this watch but the one I found (pretty good price) is a black dial. I am sold on a watch but wanted to ask you and the community about black vs blue dial on this watch??? Can anybody share their thoughts please?
My plesaure! Thanks for your kind words! :) For me the blue is nicer, but this is just an option. Black is cool too. In the other hand, I am sure, the price and value of the blue will be always stronger, because blue dialed timepieces are always much more popular, no matter which brand we are talking about. I guess the blue is something happier, sportier, the black is much more "under the radar", and more classic, more elegant. But at the end the main point to chose I guess is the answer of that question: "what coloured dial you love the most?" if you love the black, buy that, if you love the blue, go for that, at least I suggest to act like this :)
UPDATE: Just got a black dial GP Laureato 42mm and this thing is PERFECT. So so so good. Once you see this watch in person and try it on you will understand why it is NOT a copy cat of Royal Oak. This thing is truly on its own and very original. The finish however and movement isn't on par with AP but where it's got beaten the Royal Oak is wearability - omg this thing sits on the wrist like a glove !!!
Try to wear Your Watch ABOVE , wrist joint , which is a proper way , You will be suprice how comfortable it is , it’s not a hand -cuff and shouldn’t be dangling about , when on the wrist. FYI- it’s good idea to wash Your wrist with soap and water for better “ stick” if the bracelet .
This specific model and color is a grail watch for me. I wont pursue it for maybe 5-10 years as I have another step to take in my collection before this.
Nice watch, and definitely has it’s own charm. But let’s be honest: It is not and will never be a competitor/substitute for AP or PP; those are in a different level & category.
:) depends on the point of view. if we take the AP and PP as an overpriced luxury timepiece what tells you are rich and you are proud to present it to the world, than of course the GP - I guess so - never be this type of symbol. But about quality, I guess the GP Laureato knows and has got everything what AP has, even more. Just think about that AP hasnt got in-house movement until the last few years... So we can never know. For example I got the black ceramic GP Laureato, that is ultry high quality and luxury finish by my oppinion. We can say it is a bit homage to the AP RO or the PP Nautilus, but all these two were designed by not AP or PP but Genta, so this is also not too important. I guess every pieces Genta designed are a homage to his first successors, he repetad himself a lot. Maybe the octo was the only real "new" design after RO. So my point is we can just never know what will happen in the future. If GP could manage itself better, maybe they can reach AP and Patek. I guess AP is now not that strong like Patek, dont has that high respect. Thanks to some strange modells like the blackpanter and the whole ROOS concept line... and also the code 1159 was a big unsuccess I guess even that is a real high end luxury watch but absolute not looking good and those dials were jokes with what they started.. so who knows :)
Damn, very difficult question. They are different. Chopard AE is smaller. Feels smaller, looks smaller, even the so called size is the same. But the dial is smaller, so it looks smaller. If you got bigger, wider wrist and hand, you will find the Copard small I guess. So this is an option too. In the other hands, I love the Chopard bracelet, looks cool. So maybe that is more unique and got different style, GP bracelet is closer to a Patek bracelet for me. Also very comfortable but Chopard got something unique or more "original" we can say that. Dials are very different. Chopard dial is amazing and also got some stronger unique style and look and feel. I like the big numerals and indexes, so everything is cool. GP is a sporty watch for me, Chopard is more elegant. So if you are looking for an everyday watch or a sporty piece GP is the answer (by my oppinion). If you wanna wear the watch with suit for example than Chopard is the better option. But what is the most important is the size I guess, beacuse if you got big wrist the L Chopard can look small and not good on it. So thats the first thing to decide I guess. By the way and by my expereice the GP movement is better. More accurate. And the thing with the Chopard steel what should be sratch ressistent or more sratch ressitant than any others for example the GP steel is a hoax... or we can say there is only very few differences. I dont find the Chopard lucent steel stronger in real life, also got some sratches on it... its okay for me, but if someone would go for it because of the material, I guess that would be a dissapionting experience at the end. And to put everything in a nutshell, if I had to keep only one of these two pieces I would keep the GP. :)
