This might be one of the best DEMO's I've seen on youtube, no moron running his mouth, just playing and watching the knobs move. Awesome job guys, cheers!
I’ve been gigging this amp for roughly 10 years. I added a heat sink in it as it would automatically switch channels on me when channel 1 got too hot. Never had a problem since over a 200 plus gigs later in the Arizona heat. I did have to replace the power tubes a couple years ago. The pre-amp tube is still original as is the speaker. I’m a pro USA dude but this was a scratch and dent for $250 back then and I said what the hell at worst it can be a backup and it has been my number one since. Great demo my man. Bless.
Is it as loud as your average 22 watt Tube amp? and Im still unclear, is it all tube or hybrid?
@@fedayeentaqx9956 it's all tube
This is the standard by which all future amp reviews will be measured. I own the v22 and couldn't be happier with it. Great tone and reliable.
8 years later, are you still using the amp? How did it/does it hold up?
Yeah how bout now??? Curious
I own a DSL 100 tube half stack and I love it... As for a good combo amp
I can carry around I bought a Blackstar 150 watt combo and returned
because of the low quality speakers and inability for the amp to cut
through a mix. I Then turned to a Fender Deville but had problems
because of the soldering issues and melting of the pods. Also, my tubes
were burning out much too quickly. I traded a guitar for a 130 watt Vox
and although it was great on the clean channels it sounds a bit to
nasally congested on its overall tone. So, finally I bought this Bugera
and its great on the cleans and adds just enough gain for when I want to
play hard rock. Its crisp and clean and clear. When I add my pedals
delay, chorus its quality for studio recording projects. I think some
listeners do not understand or can tell the difference when an amp on
youtube is being reviewed through mixers. Most of these videos are
actually produced by the companies themselves but try and pass them off
as a regular guy in his bedroom trying out an amp. Dont make that
mistake and learn the difference. Go to your music store and plug in
before you buy.
Shout out to the fucking cleaning guy amirite
he's the real mvp
Don't let anyone stand in the way of your goals, especially when you're cleaning amps. The demo guys are just going to have to deal...
Always
An exemplary gear demo. You actually kept playing the same thing while making changes to the amp settings...amazing! :D
He also managed to change his shirt and take his watch off and put it back on. Phenomenal!!!
It's because he has three hands
I just purchased one. Should have it this weekend. So far watching this video makes me happy. I am an old school vox amplifier user. I play mainly old school Byrds, Beatles and Beach Boys type music. I think this amp in classic clean mode absolutely Rocks!!
Very good video. Really showcasing what the amplifier is capable of. I really appreciate the lack of talking and letting people actually hear the amplifier in many different positions.❤
Actual demo starts after 3:58 of bullshit.
fivepiece Muh lynrd skynrd thisuh-murrica
just like your mom
Ooooh... haven't had a burn like that since the third grade.
that was evidently last month.
fivepiece
minus four
is ONE PEICE OF sHIt
I have owned a LOT of Tube amps but the Bugera V22 is one of my favorites!
Steve G
Seriously? and its cheaper than big brands right?what about mods?i cant leave anything stock
The V55 is only 40 euros more expensive here in italy. Is it worth?
This is what a demo should be. Tone King take note...
Haha right? The Tone King is hot garbage.
Well, I had it and sent it back. UA-cam can be deceiving.
***** Yep, every review
***** What would you say it was lacking ? I have been considering one for myself would appreciate your feedback.
The clean was decent, but the dirty channel seemed kind of muffled. And it was the same way with a distortion pedal. I played a Peavey Classic 30 as well, and that beat the crap out of it clean or dirty.
I bought one of those and am not disappointed in the least.A friend recommended the Fender Blues Junior but those are not budget friendly amps though they are all around really great amps. With some add-ons like the Ibanez Tube Screamer the Bugera is real decent.
I've had a V5 for ten years or more. I play the V22 up at GC every chance I get. Incredible amp. Bargain!
Just got this amp a couple of weeks ago and its a GREAT amp, let alone the price is less than half of the well known tube amps. No problems whatsoever and sounds just as good as any tube amp twice the price that I've owned.
I like the thick tone. I am surprised by the creamy sound of it. Sounds like a good recording amp.
This is the best demo video I seen. one person playing, another changing the settings.. that way there s no pause. I probably learned more about this app watching this video than I would playing 3 hours myself.
This was the video/demo that finally convinced me to buy this amp and I have to say that I striked plently.
If you are looking for a good vintage sounding amp, and you can´t, or don´t want, to spend a lot of €/$ in a Vox, Fender, etc, this is the best option.
One of the best amp tests I've seen. Thanks.
Best video ive seen where someone was demo-ing something!!!!
Great combo for the price! Have one for 10 years! Has weak side though - it is the speaker. Changed one with Celestion V30 and that made a huge difference.
This is a stupidly good demo. Whoever is behind this channel, keep doing you.
Great demo, very informative, tells me a lot about the amp without the rhetoric. Love the touch of humor by the cleaning crew also. Wish more demo folks would just let the gear speak for itself.
After watching this demo I immediately subscribed to your channel. One of the most useful videos I've seen, and I've watched a lot the past few months in trying to decide what amp to buy. Thanks so much!!!!
Quite simply the best amp demonstration on the web! I am now going to purchase. Thanks!
Did not expect to see a 7 string included in the demo. Did not expect to hear one of Ola's songs. Awesome!
Perfect! Lots of people here on YT really can't understand the right way to do guitar amp videos. Keep on the good work!
Love that boost on clean really gives it that 50's 60's tone on the gain side it gives it that classic rock!
never knew tube amps gave such a wide range of sounds, but unlike solid states with lots of effects and settings, the tubes different sounds are all useable, thats hella cool.
Finally! Someone figured out how a UTube gear demo ought to be done. Great work. Thanks.
The song in intro is so cool! And Bugera souds in intro really well. Thanks
Having owned tube amps since 1974 (1st one a Fender Super Six, on to Marshall's, old and new Supro's and so on...), my opinion on the V22 is that it's not just "best for the price" although it's that too. It's among the best amps I've owned, used or have heard. I think where it really excels is at a low up to a medium high volume, enough reverb to suggest in sustain without saturation, gain set to just where backing off on pick/finger attack cleans up, and digging in brings the gain into play. It becomes something you play TO, like you would with a great guitar that has wonderful sonic treasures to find, unique to itself. I've read "Peavey clone" now and again, yet I find the V22 to be smoother in balance overall (maybe the stock speaker voicing?). All said, you can just hear it in the video, regardless of YT filtering it just plain sounds good. 7 years after this video's upload....and still a great choice in amps.
A damn fine sounding grab, go and rock amp. I'll pick one up someday soon.
Fantastic video guys. Helped to make up my mind what amp to get for home. Thanks!
This sounds epic! I think I might have to look into one of these.
Pretty cool how you go it to do metal. Not that I'm a metal person, but it was neat to see how versatile this amp truly is.
this demo sold me....fantastic amp
my lovely amp.
Fantastic, great amp.
put on 2x speed and listen to the intro. Makes it sound like a thrash song.
Best review ever! And not a single word!
It looks interesting but the best part is the cleaning hand
Best gear review I've seen
I'm a fan of these amps and currently have a V55 and a V22 Infinium and play out with them both regularly. THE GOOD: The first thing I suggest you do is change the tubes immediately- the stock tubes have a very harsh break up-I put JJs in both amps and it really smoothed out the tone. I'm a blues player and like vintage gear, so to get the nice natural smooth break up- creamy sound, I use the clean channel, volume on 10 and the master at around 5 depending on the room- my bass is usually on about 4, mids at 5 or 6, treble about the same, presence around 2 or 3, mid boost switch ON. Before every show, I let it warm up for about an hour and then that baby sings in a rich, creamy tone. I play both Fender and Gibson and don't need to do any fiddling when I change guitars. These amps take pedals really, really well too. The triode/pentode switch makes it a very versatile amp. THE BAD: The tone disappears on the gain channel, therefore it's hard to find any usable sounds there for the music I play. All in all, if you are looking for vintage tones at a low cost then these are your amps. Btw, I use my V22 a lot more than the V55 which is very heavy to lug around. The V22 has plenty of volume for just about any gig.
Love how they used Sasquatch for the music. That's awesome!
How I wish others would do reviews like this!
Отличный звук! Отличный обзор!
Thinking about buying this amp for awhile, it would be my first tube amp. I think this amp is great for a cheap price too!
Stacked, these amps look REALLY tasty!
Great review! By demoing each control while playing the same riffs for the different genre`s, its a whole lot easier to follow vs noodleing all over the place different things.. I am looking at this one and the V55 which is only about $50. more. Thanks again for the review.
Great demo, thanks.
If before I was fascinated by it, after this video I'm sure: this will be my first little tube amplifier!!! :-)
I liked the sound when you cut the mids at 7:02. Nice demo!
this sounds ridiculously good.
finally a demo that makes sense thanks!
Well, that sounds great!
I've owned two of these and both were nothing but trouble. Doesn't matter how good they sound if you can't use them.
fantastic demo
lol, I have this amp and never thought you could djent with it, i'm going to try that !
Great demo!!
That’s how every guitar amp video should have ever been made.
Great demo.... It sold me on one.
Did they have the speaker switch set to 16ohm at the end? I wonder if they were actually miking a larger external cab...
great demo
Watched the video just to see what the cleaning hand comments were about. It was worth the laugh. Also will be buying a Bugera V22 on my Sweetwater account as soon as the next big sale hits. I was considering a Peavey Classic 30, which I used to have a few years back and regret selling, but I just can't see paying out the price difference when the Bugera V22 can do all this, which is all I need and more.
Awesome intro song. Sasquatch just rocks
show d bola da pra faser muitos rocks legais
Great job on demo.
Alright I'm sold I'm going to pick on up this following week!!
Awesome review
awesome!!
top class review
I like the way you made this video using 1 player and one person to make changes on the amp! Really nice!
The amps with the Amber lights are from a later production run. Earlier production runs of the V22 suffered from many issues which were later resolved by Bugera.
Super Video - Danke!
This amp gives you bang for your buck. I demoed it at GC and was amazed
Too funny.......well done mate
perfect job.
Very thorough demonstration👍👌 As the Scots would say: auwts gdreeeeet laddy... But I don’t know how hip I am to this amp. Not enough definitive tonal eq range when dialing from 1-11...as it were. Okay, so that’s not perfect and I also realize they’re a low cost option due to some sub-par materials, but if you need a cheap (not great) yet good sounding backup amp...400 smackers ain’t bad. Especially when considering not having to bias tubes. It’s self biasing which (in this case) Bugera claims will extend the tube life. However, knowing that there is some cheaper manufacturing materials: will the other parts have the longevity of the extended tubes on a comparative level? IE will the amp conk long before say, a Fender Super Champ which costs a little less money. The Bugera has more features/options than a FSC. But, the Fender is a tried n true produce of many years, so would that be the way to go? I’m just posing questions to the reader and am in no way an advocate for either manufacturer. Not having actually played with the V22 using my personal guitars; thru different speakers; cabs; rooms, etc...it’s a tough question. But, I’ve always liked to try new stuff and take a gamble with things that may not be on the top of the bucket list. So yeah, I’m actually considering one. If it didn’t pan out, I could say I tried and sell it at a loss, or justify it by calling it an extended rental. OTOH, it might just turn out to be one of my favorite mistakes.
This thing has an ungodly amount of headroom on the clean channel... I would love to hear some kind of overdrive in front to see where the tubes start breaking up.
Sounds pretty good. I use one on the edge of breakup with a Little Green Wonder in the front, and it's solid.
Great tone
This video/review made me subscribe to your channel. Well done.
Excelent !!! !!!!!!
Great video. The Bugera V22 is a good amp for the price. My only disappointment is that it's a bit lacking of a thick crunchy tone of a Bassbreaker or even a Blues Jr with pedals. I decided to try some pedals on the clean channel today though, and was pleasantly surprised. I was able to add a bit of bottom end to the sound using a Fuzz pedal. I just ordered an OCD overdrive and am hoping that will help with the dirty blues and rock tones. Maybe a tube change will improve things as well.
graphicartdude I use a ts9 on mine and love the tone.
Turn up the gain channel and add a Tubescreamer. You'll love it.
the sound of the amp is so diffirent when cranked up !! it really growls !!
I must try it on a concert ,because I've never cranked him up .. :\
I also have a question : i own the amp for 3 years, and i've changed the tubes only when i had just bought him.
How am i gonna find out its time for changes ?
Yes, I know. I was just surprised that something advertised as 'vintage' sounding that is designed around an el84 output section would sound that mean and somewhat modern when saturated.
Complimenti finalmente una prova ampli bravo ok
Nooo una locura, no tenía idea que eran tan versátiles
Skip to 1:31. You're welcome.
Bob Saget thanks bob saget
What I wanna know was what was the rig for the song in the beginning? That was one of the best tones I've ever heard in my life.
very nice !
Now that's what I call an amp review
Very nice
Nice demo. I am caught between a Fender super champ X2, mustang and this Bugera V22. I think the V22 might win.
Hahahhha - the polishing hand!
My favorite part 8:15 when the clean djent came in
yes i too have noticed the tone kabobs are decorative only unless you are in super sensitive nobody else in the band playing mode ... or as we say in free scotland ... weak !
but its still my favourite amp for 2 years
edit ...
for4 the price ... `kin awesome
How's the headroom for this amp? Can it play over a jazz ens without breaking up on the clean channel? whenever I tried it at Guitar Center it had a wonderful tone. now I just concerned about whether or not it has enough volume.
I guess I'll keep my Bugera then!!
Does it have enough juice to be used as a amp in the practice studio? Does it have enough volume?
Thank you, thank you and thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Carling made amp reviews......great review of a great amp! So good, in fact, that I am selling my Fender Blues Junior. Great though the Fender is, it just isn't as versatile as the Bug. Two channels and pentode/triode makes a huge difference! Looks really cool, too.....(did someone say Matchless?)
Hi there! Awesome review! only one question: ¿it is loud? i am a funk like guitar player, and i need lots of clean headroom. Is the bugera up to the task?
hey mate !
It's a fine, and a loud amp ! you can play over a "beast" drummer !!
Yeap the clean channel has so much of headroom you will like it for sure !!
johnny kos Thanks bro, really helpful review!
What a great video. Subscribing.
