I one of the BIGGEST jazz lovers in the world! I love jazz and all of its forms but there's something about Latin Jazz that goose bumps me up all over! The chord progressions and it's bouncy melodic nature is so entirely satisfying! Especially on the guitar man!!!
I don't know what so special about this performance that makes me return to this UA-cam video time after time and admire the artist. Irio De Paula's guitar is a little glitchy and buzzes but it's so harmonically beautiful to my ears, much more compared to other sterile clear performances of the same standards. This is a true hidden gem
I agree with you.. but you know what, probably jazz is all about finding beauty inside the imperfections. Irio maybe wasnt precise and clean as a classical guitar virtuoso, but he really figured out how to express his feelings through the instrument , you know

It's a little bit glitchy but Irio is insane in this performance. He is playing the bass together with the comping in real-time so well.

この頃のmonetteの方が今のよりよかったんじゃないかっていう。
今のはクルークの形状が早めにストーンと落ちて完全な流線型になってしまってるけど、
実は、テイラーの逆バージョンやハレルソンの尖った形状のように、リードパイプから完全にストーンと落とさないで上側を長く保てるような尖った形状のクルークの方が吹き易
い。
トロンボーンショーティも結局はモネットからジェネシスにまた戻してるけど、よく見るとゲッツェンは流線型のモネットを真似してるようで、形状は上側を少し落として下を巻いてるようなクルークの形状になっている。
今のモネットは完成形のようで、やりすぎか。確かにパッと吹いた感じはイージーなんだろうけど、強く鳴らしたい時とか長く吹いてると違和感を感じてくるはず。
とまぁ、楽器マニアな事を書き留めておく。
