First reactor actually TALKING about that move! Thank you. And by the way, she didn't do it on Music Bank, which shows that there's still barriers on provocation in Kpop.
I agree with Kaia. That move doesn't seem like just anyone would do it in K-Pop. Hwasa, BiBi, Soyeon, and Hyuna are the standouts, not so much as a sex appeal thing, but more of a statement (if that makes sense). I can also see more sexy dancers possibly doing it as a Studio Choom like deal, but not as a part of a comeback. Soojin, obviously comes to mind, but I also think Natty is sort of making waves on her sensuality. Out of the TWICE girls, like Kaia, I wouldn't have painted Nayeon as the one who would have done this... it seems more like a Momo move, or even Mina if her inner Sharon is coming out. I guess we've seen Nayeon go sexy at American concerts, so maybe this shouldn't have shocked us as much as it did, but ... we're talking about the same girl who did Pop for crying out loud! lol.
I completely agree with what you said about "that move". And I'd say that its also a pretty well rounded and bold statement to the korean public (specially the very conservative, mysogenistic public in korea - and the west for that matter, why not) that screams maturity, freedom and empowerment. I really do feel it hits like that.
This song is literally her being the main character and she accepts it, loves it, conquers it~ our badass bunny is here to burn the stage and make everyone fall in love with her. Btw, the movement in the dance break, the slap tight thingi, isn't going to be seen anywhere in Korea national tv I can guess, it's pretty provocative as you said tho it might be interpreted as a little moderation. The camera grid and frame rate are references to the film's and song's era Nay using in this music video. The same goes with the sets and outfits. The director also referencing a lot from Everything Everywhere All at Once since the beginning as a rope to connect all era of her (Nayeon). I'm loving the album's style in this comeback and she has 2 english song in it as well. Btw Kaia, their youngest have just debuted called Nexz, you should check it out.
Her album is SO GOOD! Every single song is Title Track material 100%. ABCD is giving me alot of "One Thing by Amerie" and I ABSOLUTELY love it. ( Literally the ooh oh oh in the dance break is the exact same ) instrumental def got some hints of Crazy in Love by Yoncé also. She just SLAYED so hard honestly
I've watched a ton of reactions to ABCD and this is definitely the best I've seen. You're totally right about the entire concept of this song being confidence. That iconic move at the end of the dance break wasn't sexual at all, it was just badass. And that's what makes me thing that the reaction to it will be pretty positive overall, because it wasn't lewd or sexual, it was a statement.
I agree with there being a difference between being provocative and the sexy concept. In my opinion the difference is that being provocative necessarily pushes boundaries insofar as people automatically will have a bigger reaction to it. The sexy concept in itself normally caters to what people are already expecting within the concept. Mix in the provocative and it becomes clear what restrictions still exist in what is deemed normal. It being provocative for female idols being confident about their bodies and their desires (especially in a way not seen before) just shows that this is not part of the sexy concept in Kpop usually.
As someone who's been into k-pop for a pretty long time (12 years at this point) I have to say this is very BoA coded. I'm not saying Nayeon "copied" BoA, it's just a highly energetic powerful confident song with a lot of dancing. Musically it also reminded me a lot of Beyoncé's Crazy in Love, and Ailee's U&I (both songs are fairly similar). Nayeon is one of my biases in Twice, so obviously I always think she looks good, but holy moly some of those outfits actually slapped me in the face. And I was not expecting her to do THAT MOVE. It's gonna be interesting to see what the actual dance looks like, and if they're changing it for stage performances; I doubt KBS would allow such a "Provocative" move. xD It's taken a few listens, but I'm liking the song more and more. At first I wasn't at all on board with the "ABC"- intro to the chorus, but it's growing on me. x)
That’s just not how you do the modesty thing though. I always hated that move for being far too gratuitous - but I must say that if you pay attention to what the song is saying it makes sense there. If you’re just vibing to the music it’s certainly quite shocking even to East Asians - just look at Twice gasping away at the sheer Gravity of it . . . Even in the toned down version she’s suggestive of it at the earlier Gravity line, no? Gee whiz . . .
Imagine giving birth to POP then killing it by this ABCD😭 We should have expected this to a member of the best girl group🔥
4:21 don't worry im pretty sure that all of us is just like this😂
I think this is the most beautiful and confident I’ve ever seen Nayeon! She was feeling herself in this MV, and exuding such radiance and power!
First reactor actually TALKING about that move! Thank you. And by the way, she didn't do it on Music Bank, which shows that there's still barriers on provocation in Kpop.
I was actually wondering if she'll do that on Music Shows, but yeah barriers indeed.
nobody was ready for that
Nayeon becomes unapologetically confident and bold, and I love it!!!
Grown woman doing grown woman thangs!! I’m so damn proud of our Hunny Bunny Nayeon Unnie!! This summer just got a whole lot hotter 🔥🔥

Literally I'm ADDICTED! Butterflies is soooooooo good!! Something, Magic, halligalli are so badass!
YES! Amerie definitely. I wonder if it’s a sample
Mouth Agape, Jaw-On-The-Floor is a completely acceptable reaction to THAT scene, don't even worry about it. :)
Every frame a painting! And once more proof that Red is her colour! ♥
Something about the silhouette library scene matched with the chaotic beat reminds me of Cascada I love it. The song is so good

The reaction I was waiting for 🩵
You’re gonna explode when she does Waterbomb Festival.
ERROR404: mouth closing ability not found.
When Nayeon did THAT move... you spent 18 seconds in another dimension. That's why we came here, thanks.
NAYEONCE Lets goo
Best album
Why is this so good ?
Your reaction to the PumPum grab was all of us. Trust me.
great song
Now I'm wondering what your reaction would be if Jihyo did that in her own comeback 😂❤

4:22 Me too LMOOAOAOAOAO
Please react to twice dive
react to KWON EUNBI new song please 🙏🏼💘
Remember she's Korean so that gesture is more of a modesty thing than one to tease. Having said that the effect is unreal...lol
It's not in the kbs comeback stage
@@asareireneI was so relieved they had some thoughts about it
It got better with her just crossing legs

This clearly rips off Chungha's Eenie Meenie not blaming Nayeon but the person who wrote this song.Just to be clear.
Eenie meenie? Lmao
How? The songs are not even similar lol
Sorry but i don't see the similarity AT ALL
