  • Using only recycled knits, make this fully lined oversized cardigan in one weekend. It was a full weekend... but compared to knitting this project... pretty short time between starting and wearing. I cannot emphasise enough how incredibly comfortable and warm this is. The lining and knits make this cosier and warmer than just the total effect of the the ingredients separately. The squares form little pockets of warm air. I have been able to adapt the method I use to make sweater quilts and apply that to creating this cardigan. Huge thanks to J W Anderson for sharing your design with the world.
This cardigan is very warm and feels quite luxurious because of the quality of the knits and the silky lining.
This cardigan is very bright and loud but of course you could make it in any colours you want.
I would also encourage you to think about the sizing and adjust the squares to suit your style and size.
Design 2 addresses how to line the cardigan using more traditional techniques. The cardigan is big and boxy so I just sewed a very simple big boxy silky lining and then hand stitching it to the outside edges of the knit cardigan.
You will create a super luxuriously warm cardigan that is a genuine show stopper. Go on! make one for yourself.
