The fact she is virtually an unknown actress and was not given roles in mainstream movies is totally incomprehensible. She has a special, captivating magentism, by far superior to that of most well-known female stars.
Alex Reid is that unknown but mesmerizing actress who, once you've seen her acting in a movie or TV series, remains recorded in your memory and you can't forget her.
It's a shame that Alex Reid is so unrecognized. Her talent is beyond comparison. Her acting captivates you even without the dialogue in this tribute alone. That's how good she is. It's also a little sad that she is not on any kind of social media, but part of me is glad seeing how social media nowadays has it's harms when it comes to popularity and fame. All in all, I wish to see more from here and I am praying very much that she will soon have her breakout role in any movie.

I agree, I never quite got over her abrupt death and it stopped me from enjoying the rest of the series, so much so I can only really say I like the first 5 episodes of Misfits, where to me it begins to go downhill afterwards; it would've been great to see more Sally with Simon, I was enjoying their story a lot.
I was the same, I knew she'd appear one last time so I stuck with it until then; however, I didn't like how she was portrayed as being duplicitous and double-crossing, similarly to how I thought they mishandled her character in the last few minutes before her death; I thought her slamming Simon's head into the mirror was uncomfortably out of character. To me, she was just someone who couldn't cope with the loss of her partner and made a few wrong choices in uncovering what happened, even though her affections for Simon were abundantly clear; she shouldn't of been made to be manipulative or scheming, it didn't work.
Totally agree! I thought her feelings for Simon were genuine. She seemed uncomfortable with how she was apparently using Simon to get the information she needed. She really had no other choice. She was caught in a massive dilemma. She genuinely saw Simon's vulnerability and felt his pain and loneliness. She wasn't a manipulating bitch in the way some people have seen her character.
The Descent is great but it's a hard watch because of what happens to her character in it. I definitely see the resemblance to Gainsbourg: she too is a very striking woman. Thanks for your comment. :) I'm an English teacher not Tomb Raider!

What you're saying about her being ordinarily attractive in a good way fits in well with what Stu was saying below us about having a 'very familiar yet unfamiliar face'; one of her greatest appeals to me is that she strikes me as very real, I can imagine just bumping into her; she's a breath of fresh air and extremely charismatic on screen, particularly in The Honeymooners, which any fan of hers should watch if they haven't already; you'll know what I mean by being able to imagine just bumping into her after having watched that film.
