Nikasil can be hone, what about diasil from Yamaha?

You can hone them but you need a special diamond hone for the job.

Nope. Aluminum Oxide. Yamaha cylinders do I believe.

A ball hone deglazes the cylinder, reusing the original cross hatch, u need a diamond hone to put a completely new crosshatch in

@caleb-hm4lp Do you have documentation on that? You can take an aluminum oxide ball hone and out whatever degree cross hatch you want into a Nikasil (nickel silicon carbide) coated cylinder.

You should not hone nikasil with a ball hone

I'm not sure where you heard that from but that's actually false. All the service manuals say to use an aluminum oxide ball home at roughly 320 grits to deglaze and add cross hatch.
