Amazing! Absolutely amazing. They way these young men served and to often died for their countries is something that for me is incredible. That you risk your life for others and you own believes, respect to them all. I’m European and from Sweden. So I have no relatives that were abroad fighting. My great grandfather was stationed in the north of Sweden, near the boarders of Finland and Norway. He didn’t see any action but helps a lot of refuses. My grandfathers mother brother was a officer in the Swedish military but newer went abroad. I fell bad because that our country never took action and joined the war. This still haunts me to this day... But I can’t thank all of these amazing old men for what they did and I can’t imagine what they been through. I myself will hopefully join the Swedish military in the summer of 2020 after I graduate from high school. It is because of them that we all can live in a free world and have the opportunities that we have today. All respect to them and let God watch over their souls. Thank you👏🏽
Dwight Rahl yes, I am. I love my country and I’m also very proud to call myself Swedish. Me and my friends often speak about this and we all say that we would die for our country and for its pride. For us it doesn’t matter about politics, it’s about defending the country we love and if that means that we die. Then at least we know that we died defending our land, our friends and our family.
@@hugoeriksson686 I would never die for my country and surely not for its "pride"...ridiculous to say things like that living in europe, where there will never be any situation like that. Only thing you will have to fight is some Taliban in Afghanistan or somewhere in Africa. And to believe that fighting and dying would be something good is also very disturbing. That is the attitude that led to so many deaths. War is something bad, and every soldier who dies is one to many. There is no "countries pride" worth dying for and one should never speak about that as it would be something worth to accomplish. But maybe you are just too young to understand that.
Tosse901 I didn’t say that dying for your country was good, I don’t know where you got that from.. I understand that you might think it pointless dying for your country, and maybe you are right. But I don’t agree. Obviously I want to live a long health life I don’t want to die in some war when I’m 25. I just said that if some other nation would have invaded “my” country I would defend it. And if I died doing so then at least I know that I defended my country with pride, you can’t do more then that. Perhaps I’m to young and a bit dumb. All I say is that I fell a responsible to protect my country if I have to.
I have a grandpa who served in the Vietnam war I know it’s not like the other ww2 vids but maybe if I can get him to talk about I can get u guys another story for history...I do remember one small story though from my stepfather about my grandpa. All I know is he was in a tank of some kind and was ambushed in the mist of the fight they had believed they won but simple judgements cause big outcomes which led to them being over run. The tank he had taken cover in was disabled, luckily he wasn’t hit but a friend he made just a couple of hours before was dying next to him. He told him to “run and leave me” because they were being surrounded. He didn’t have any cover and so he dropped through the bottom hatch and covered himself in mud. After the remaining troops retreated and the Vietcong gone he crawled out into blood got up and saw bodies after bodies he was the only one left still standing. That’s all I know about him in the war. I’m afraid to ask him anything because I don’t want to trigger his PTSD.
The moments of Holy Spirit intervention brought tears to my eyes. Bud is a humble man. His resolve to not fall prey to preconceived, judgmental thinking is what allowed him to hear so clearly to save Silk. Not to mention, disallowing him the ability to pull that grenade pin, and living to tell the story.
It makes me really sad that soon we aren't going to have any veterans left from the world wars, the last WW1 vet died in 2011-2012 and as the years tick by that will be the fate of the WW2 veterans. Both of my grandfathers who served died both in their 90's, one in 2008 and the other this year.. I'm glad that their are places like this that document their stories before it is too late.
although these men might be gone physically. they still live on we see their struggles and what they fought for through the thins we take for granted every single day they will forever live on not only in our hearts but through their bloodline and these videos will forever be on this site even when youtube dies off and no one uses. not only us but future generations will watch these videos and hopefully learn the only thing that comes from war and violence is not only destruction but heart akes and despair towards the loved ones we lost hopefully future generations learn that war is never the answer these brave man shall forever live on

Sadly, even America had a few bad apples (for example see the Biscari Massacre of Axis prisoners by several bitter GIs). War does terrible things to men and women involved in it. It's why keeping your moral conscience strong is critical.
Amazing video, as always. Keep up the good work 😁
I hope one day a visit to Australia would be on the cards, our vets are one of a kind
Most chills ive ever gotten from one of these videos.
My uncle fought in the bulge as a bridge engineer, so they went in first. The things he saw, had no words to describe them
i am super proud and sad to see an American Jewish soldier Robert "Bud" that he has avenge all of the Jewish people with the Germans stained with their blood.
Ill never forget that quote he said "I knew about Anti-semitism but i thought, i'll judge them on my own." what an amazing quote.
8:56 “ on both sides I’ve seen stuff like that” & “ some of our guys weren’t so good.”
Super important line. In every mass group of people there will be good & bad. It’s up to the good to hold their own group accountable.
He doesn’t care which side was worse, he understands that the Wehrmacht was made up of individual people, just as our side was. It’s very important to treat each individual soldier with nuance, instead of lumping them all into the same group. An extremely important and powerful message, especially coming from him.
Imagine going thru what he and his buddies went thru at 18-19 years old. War is such a crazy thing. RIP to all soldiers and vets of WW2
*Gone but never forgotten*
Another great video Josh! Keep it up!
This is a very powerful memoir. Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
In such great shape, society is lucky to still have people like him around to tell the stories of the greatest generation.
How in the world does this channel not have at least a million subscribers? I mean really the videos are very well put together interesting stories..
Bulletsponge thank you!
And he says, " Oh my God I'm Dying." 😢😟😞
I absolutely LOVE what you do. Thank you so much for doing it and sharing it. God Bless You and your crew.
Amazing!
My grandpa was a lil kid when war raged in Germany and he told me some stories how he saw the war, damn this war wasn't fun for anyone F for every one, soldier and civilian who lived in this time
Honestly cannot get enough of this channel. EVERY. SINGLE. STORY is entertaining! 👏👏
I have been binge watching these videos all week. I have depression anxiety and ptsd. I battled with suicide since I was 13. These stories are helping me greatly and giving me a different perspective on life. I had 7 great grandfather's all brothers whom were in WW2. I really wish I could hear their stories from a indigenous perspective. None the less. Thank you all. May the world not only hear your stories but learn from your stories. ❤
My heart is happy whenever I get the notification that you posted a new video. I absolutely love this series, and hope that once it is over, you will move into Vietnam veterans
Thank you for this Project man😢
We are so blessed to have so much because of his bravery and humility and from the millions like him. These stories are so important in our history. Thank you for sharing
Going through all these videos i just want to hug these guys and let them know how grateful i am.. multiple generations seperate us but the sacrafice he (and all soldiers) give for our country deserves the respect of EVERYONE. Thank you sir.
Thank you for interviewing Bud. And thanks to Bud for his incredible strength of character.

I love these videos a raw history lesson just like both of my grandfather's I loved hearing their stories about it even the horrible ones they told .
The part of the grenade and the basement killed my heart it's so awesome how sometimes bad thoughts lead to good things
Thank you👏🏽
Make sure you approve of what your government is doing before you make yourself their slave.
Well said, Hugo. You sound like a patriot to me.
Hats off to you sir, from a Jewish veteran to another. Thank you, my service is nothing compared to the sacrifice you made. B"H
Wow. Absolutely incredible. There's a reason why we label these men the greatest generation. They truly are.
I could listen to Bud all day/ awesome video ty
God bless you Bud , you sound like a courageous soldier and a great human being even when there was such chaos and barbaric times.
Thank you for your service. My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you all.
This is one of the most important channels on youtube
I'm binge watching these videos with tear drops on my shirt.
James stern and so many more never got to grow old.
The preservation of our veterans and their stories of living through history are everything.
True American patriot, thank you for your help in WWII American brothers🇬🇧🤝 🇺🇸
This was really touching

I was I'm that same plane just a couple of weeks ago. I was gonna go up in it for my birthday. What an awful tragedy
@@adammacmillan1681 Holy omg you are lucky dude. God bless you
I love this Chanel thank you ..❤️
The moments of Holy Spirit intervention brought tears to my eyes. Bud is a humble man. His resolve to not fall prey to preconceived, judgmental thinking is what allowed him to hear so clearly to save Silk. Not to mention, disallowing him the ability to pull that grenade pin, and living to tell the story.
These People veterans has a great story and experienced. When I hear stories like that make me cry for worth.
I just watched this one 3x straight.... what an amazing story
James’ Dream got me crying...
Thank you Sir. You are a Hero indeed
Bud Sabetay-------amazing & remarkable war story!
although these men might be gone physically. they still live on we see their struggles and what they fought for through the thins we take for granted every single day they will forever live on not only in our hearts but through their bloodline and these videos will forever be on this site even when youtube dies off and no one uses. not only us but future generations will watch these videos and hopefully learn the only thing that comes from war and violence is not only destruction but heart akes and despair towards the loved ones we lost hopefully future generations learn that war is never the answer these brave man shall forever live on
I really like to this episode, I worship battle hardened men like this, they're a wealth of information, especially the NCO's like this SGT.
Thanks for everything you did
