You should've been there Thursday night... It was fan-tastic! Amazing venue, high energy and great music! Loved it all (except for the jam up thru the tunnel to the venetian).
so much bitterness in the comments on this page. if anything it's a nice tribute to the good old days. band sounds fine, no complaints. Bobby's keeping up... audience is having a good time. what's not to love? oh yeah, and the visuals are groovin'.
Wow. Holy cow. I've seen so many shows in my life but never any Dead shows. I have tix for 2 shows in July. And I just may be out there Memorial Day week
I think I can speak for some of us old deadheads, if we had this back 40 years ago, there would have definitely been more drug OD casualties. but wow...........
mind blowing graphics, indeed, but i find it odd they just didn't use the original movie graphic instead. but thanks for the taste of what it was like in that venue!
I was there Friday night. This screen is 516' wide by 366' tall. You can't imagine what this really looks like until you see it. The sound was unbelievable. The band was tight. Now John Mayer might not be as good as Jerry Garcia on their best nights, but John is better than Jerry was on most nights.
Jerry Smith? Jerry Jones? Jerry Rig? Look, I was a John Mayer fan long before he joined Dead and Co, and still am, but he is sure as hell not better than Jerry Garcia full stop, ever.
Correct me if I'm stereotyping, but do you think there were (are) people tripping at these shows? And further, do you think the graphics were made with that in mind?
Ugh the band sound horrible, not that it matters to the deadheads…. Sad. No energy, forgot half the words, but hey, guess they are pushin 80… we miss you Jerry!! 😉✌🏼❤️🔥🍄🔥🙄😋🌹🫠😉have fun kids!🤠✌🏼🌹 6:01
Musically, this is like the worst version of US Blues I've ever heard. This makes me so sad. ughhhh. There is no way the band is not aware of. As a professional musician myself, I know they know this. I have to assume however they are enjoying the experience of playing in this new venue and counting their cash!!
You have to take into consideration they haven't played together much recently. The band will get tighter. But yes, that is a generic version of U.S. Blues. I'm guessing they didn't want to take away from the video presentation. From the other music I've heard from D&C in the Sphere, the background is more abstract.
It was a blast and the acoustics in The Sphere are amazing. Everyone was singing along because everyone always does, you just can't help yourself to connect with the band by singing and dancing. The Sphere was an incredible venue
As a 50 year fan. It is truly sad how lame this all is. Absolutely no energy from the band and a bunch of overhyped cgi graphics straight from the Grateful Dead screen saver collection available for purchase on their website today! This is just a shameless money grab
I agree with the no energy aspect of this performance for sure (as far as the other stuff that's subjective, but I do think it's a not even half-assed effort to sing this song even 25% of the way like Bobby didn't even bother to show up, lol)
I think it sounds really good…very energetic performance and mixed very well. I’m going in June and seeing these videos has me feeling very excited! I think it will continue to improve as the residency continues.
This is crap. A bajillion dollar venue where the band looks like they're playing in an American Legion hall. No light show, just some overamped screen savers. People dumping boxcars of cash on a cover band doing poor approximations of the music that was the soundtrack of my life. Sorry to be that picky Deadhead, but I am just gutted at how horrible this shitshow is.
Just out of curiosity---not trying to troll or provoke---did you feel that way about all the other projects over the years like Other Ones, The Dead, Further, etc? Because you can make the same "cover band doing approximations" criticism of all of them.
The venue was incredible and the guys sounded great. Everyone was loving it and it is amazing that they are still out there doing progressive and creative shows. Everyone had a great time, you really sound negative but if you were a real Deadhead you would get to Vegas and have fun. General Admission tickets gets you on the floor so close to the band you would be yelling for Bobby to hang in there and see that Oteil is smiling and grooving the whole time and John Mayer is honoring Jerry
Absolute garbage, and the sooner people recognize that maybe the sooner they'll stop. Couldn't be further from the music. John Mayer is like fingernails on chalkboard.
I was there and it was ridiculously amazing!
Was there for this, blew me away.Very Grateful this video lives on!

Was there, so fing awesome.

Turning on a new generation. Unfortunately the vid idiot generation
How much were tickets lol and it does suck. Dead went corporate years ago
Wow. Holy cow. I've seen so many shows in my life but never any Dead shows. I have tix for 2 shows in July. And I just may be out there Memorial Day week
You'll never be the same
See you in July we're gonna trip hard
I remember the old days 1974-1977 Great shows.
See you on the 13th!!
Yea man unbelievable video no need for drugs thanks for sharing
It is way better with the proper drug
just imagine what drugs do for the video?
Great show in person!
We watched it twice.
I think I can speak for some of us old deadheads,
if we had this back 40 years ago, there would have definitely been more drug OD casualties. but wow...........
looks awesome! how fun!
Whoa, Nelly. Awesome.
LOVE IT.... PINEAPPLE EXPRESS ......TRIP THROUGH CANADA...
Very cool
Omg. ❤❤❤❤❤ Wow!
mind blowing graphics, indeed, but i find it odd they just didn't use the original movie graphic instead. but thanks for the taste of what it was like in that venue!
They’d have been better off using the original audio. 😄. These visuals are stunning.

John better than Jerry on MOST nights??? Sorry but your opinion is the dumbest thing I've read all year.
#lol!
Jerry Smith? Jerry Jones? Jerry Rig? Look, I was a John Mayer fan long before he joined Dead and Co, and still am, but he is sure as hell not better than Jerry Garcia full stop, ever.
@@pscotmohe’s right and you’re 100 percent mad. Accept reality lol Mayer is much better
Acid Test circa 2024
graphics are impressive but I wouldn't pay the price to see it
There's free tix in the parking lot and you can buy them for less than 90 bucks online.
We know
Sold out. And I'm not talking about the venue
Correct me if I'm stereotyping, but do you think there were (are) people tripping at these shows? And further, do you think the graphics were made with that in mind?
Is that like the backdrop behind the band?
It’s the entire space
pink floyd will be the one 2 c straight up
I love this band but I would love to c them playing ! ❤️🐰🐇🌹☮️👻🥰😘😍☠️💀⚡️🕊️🪽👽🪐🛸🚀🥀please show us the band !
Funny how the dead and dead and company went corporate
Ahhh theres that John Mayer having not figured it out yet style...him and Derek Trucks should start a supergroup
Ugh the band sound horrible, not that it matters to the deadheads…. Sad. No energy, forgot half the words, but hey, guess they are pushin 80… we miss you Jerry!! 😉✌🏼❤️🔥🍄🔥🙄😋🌹🫠😉have fun kids!🤠✌🏼🌹 6:01
pink floyd would be mean as
Looks like it was made for a college project in the early 2000s lol come on

The sound in the venue was good. The music from the cell phone onto UA-cam and back to our devices was squeezed down. Much better in person!
Respectfully if that’s truly the worst US Blues you’ve heard you might have not heard that many of them!
You have to take into consideration they haven't played together much recently. The band will get tighter. But yes, that is a generic version of U.S. Blues. I'm guessing they didn't want to take away from the video presentation. From the other music I've heard from D&C in the Sphere, the background is more abstract.
The crowd singing is the worst. Any Dead show I ever went to NOBODY sang. EVER. What a fucking money grab.
It was a blast and the acoustics in The Sphere are amazing. Everyone was singing along because everyone always does, you just can't help yourself to connect with the band by singing and dancing. The Sphere was an incredible venue
I’ve been to 18 Grateful Dead shows and I sang at every single one. So do a lot of people.
As a 50 year fan. It is truly sad how lame this all is. Absolutely no energy from the band and a bunch of overhyped cgi graphics straight from the Grateful Dead screen saver collection available for purchase on their website today! This is just a shameless money grab
Ha! Guess who got shut out? ^this guy^
😂😂😂😂😂
💯

I was there and it was unbelievably amazing. Your loss.
It is better than nothing
The venue was incredible and the guys sounded great. Everyone was loving it and it is amazing that they are still out there doing progressive and creative shows. 100% on point
