I did this job on my 2005 Chevy truck and it went well. However, I had to do it twice because good old Dorman's part failed. They have a life time warranty but who wants to do this twice? You mastered those modifications well. I hope it lasts a long time for you.
Thanks Ron, when I got in my truck after work and looked at the passenger window , I thought the window was busted out but glad it was just the regulator . Take care
Everything works really well until it gets some age on it. How true is that Lloyd !! That was some very impressive modifying. I would've given it an 11 out of 10 !!
Geez, I never thought about how hard replacements part would be to find for those SSRs. I guess that's part of the joy of owning one ;) Good job on the mod!
Does nobody make an aftermarket reg.?...I use a mob called "Electric Life"...They have regs for anything and door switches,,Ignition switches and the like...Nicely fabricobbled Lloyd.
Hey guys, Electric Life only can offer a “universal” replacement for “any car that has a curved window” was what I was told directly from their sales dept. anytime I hear universal part, I always cringe a little. It’s like the one size fits most at the lingerie store. You just can’t be sure until you try it out. Not willing to take that chance myself, considering they want $399.95 for this kit. Eeeeeesh😱
I don't but it isn't too hard. Get a set of small plastic pry tools. You can buy these at Harbor Freight for not much . Hold the inside door handle open and remove the cover under it. There will be a bolt that take a 10mm socket . After removing that bolt you can gently remove the silver section of the handle , pry it out slowly down the length of that strip. . Under it will be 2 more 10 mm bolt on the door handle. Remove them and the handle will come off. The door panel is held on by push pin clips. Pry the door panel off with the plastic pry tools. Disconnect the wiring at the switches and it is off. Good luck
Good tutorial, every time I work on a vehicle YT is as handy as my manual..Thanks for helping by showing how to do this and sharing your knowledge!
Thanks Lee, after I've done one , I think I could I fix it quicker if I have to do it ever again. Take care

Do you have a video of how to take door panel off?
