My favourite part about this new detachment is that you can use anything in the codex. Wanna build a shooting army? Melee army? Sneaky army? Wanna just bring your favourite stuff? This detachment will work. It’s magnificent.
Not really, the only part of the army that sees any benefit is one unit that can receive Taktiks orders per turn, which means a mek or a warboss. Notably, one part that can't really benefit is Stormboyz.
@ lol, I was just reading a thread on Reddit where a guy said “if people just read the Muster Army rules it would answer 90% of their questions” and I guess he was right.
Loved this video. Do we think that the rules as intended was attaching the named model "warboss" and not the key word? Seems odd we can add a wartrike to a unit of Mandos. I hadn't considered it until you mentioned it.
I like that damn near every detachment has a way to enable Lethal + Sustained using Ghaz because they all have some stratagem giving sustained lol Also, I am like 80% sure they'll errata Skwad Leader to be Infantry models only, as having a Deffkilla or Squiggosaur with Stealth and Infiltrate accompanying your Mandos is some silly-ass shenanigans
Flash Gits seem to be the obvious choice here, but I have to admit that the idea of a warboss + kommandos with rerolling charges on arrival turn is also pretty interesting.
I hope mek/big mek giving mek gunz the infantry keyword doesn’t get changed. I mean it’s just the same as for the dread mob. You add a single mek infantry model to a unit and by doing so that whole unit get those keywords. Feels like they should’ve known about the possible interactions arising from dread mob so I chose to hope and believe that it’s intentional 🤞
I am excited to try out: 1. Beastboss skwad leader and commandos for an alpha strike; 2. Warboss (maybe with gob boomer, idk, it can be overkill and mork’s kunnin’ is imo autoinclude) and weirdboy + 20 boyz jumpin’ command squad; 3 da big freakin’ mek in da freekin’ mega armour with 10 freboota gitz - skrew dat fact they cost 285 pts and most probably will get points increase next time, I just love it and I want to use da big mek in MA again!! Thank you guys for this waagh tactics issue! Waaaaaaghh!!!💪🏻👍🏻
I feel confident in saying the Mek Gunz do NOT get +1 to hit to ranged because it says Infantry "MODEL". "Each time an Infantry or Mounted model in this unit makes a ranged attack, add 1 to the Hit roll". I feel like its obvious it doesnt work on Mek Gunz since they are not infantry models, and thus the +1 to hit doesnt apply when a non infantry model attacks.
"Shoota Drills: Each time an Infantry or Mounted model in this unit makes a ranged attack, add 1 to the Hit roll." Mek Guz models don't get the infantry keyword. Only the unit has it when lead. So they don't get +1 to hit
Can we all please agree not to be salty when they inevitably FAQ that wartrikes can't join kommandos and it's only the on foot warboss? (Which it obviously intends it to be).
Its lookin real bad for orks lately, they ruined the cost of bosses, they ruined the timing of the waagh, now we get a lackluster detachment. They could just fix the stuff that's broken instead of ruining things and adding do-nothing detachments.

Absolutely, I think warhorde is direct and flexible too but this detachment is never level of depth and flavor. Even if it's not the strongest
