This is both my and my husband’s favorite band. We have seen them live dozens of times up and down the east coast. Over the years we have gotten to know the band a bit just from seeing and speaking to them at so many shows. They are the nicest people and so talented! Brian and his wife Rose also have their own group and they are quite good. Rose often plays with Enter The Haggis and that makes a performance extra special. Getaway Car is one of my favorite songs of theirs and it’s incredible live! It’s not as fast as some of their songs but I would never consider it lethargic. If you ever get the chance to see them live, go!

They were. Used to pack the house in my town, then they changed who they were and no one showed up to their show

@masham7197 over the years their sound changed bit by bit until they thought they should change their name completely. They have since changed it back to Enter the Haggis, but the damage was done.

So Enter the Haggis may just be my favorite band period. I listen to them all the time. But of the songs on the Whitelake album, this one is my least favorite. Something about it feels kinda lethargic to me...? Weirdly...? Also the imagery that this song provokes in me is just... Eh. And it's just REALLY weird that Getaway Car somehow feels lethargic to me... Even though on the album it immediately follows The Flood which is perhaps one of the slowest songs in Enter the Haggis' catalogue. And yet The Flood is somehow one of my favorite songs. Ever! Somehow I like the imagery of a town being slowly and apathetically being flooded...? Somehow there's a serenity in the disaster described in The Flood. It just gives me good vibes in a way that Getaway Car doesn't. But I must say, I actually do like this live version more than the album version. The instrumentation somehow comes across a little differently in a way that I like, and the little changes make it feel better to me. So I'm glad to have listened to this version of this song!

Have you ever seen them live? First time I ever saw them was when they were Jubilee riots and I knew very little of their music. This song blew me away. The crowd was outsinging Trevor! Ever since them, it's been one of my favourites, especially live. Just love singing along with them, as everyone else does. I saw them at Hugh's room in Toronto a number of years back, and Brian came out halfway through the set and played The Flood by himself. To me it was the highlight of the night. Such a beautiful song!

@@indigoiris I'm not Canadian. And I don't believe that I've ever heard of ETH coming to my state, so no, I have not gotten to hear them live. Sure would love to though!
Glad to hear that one of my favorite songs by them was such a highlight though!

@@wakawakatakeover Im curious, if you've never seen them live, how did you find out about them? I'm not sure how much you know about them, all members are Canadian, based out of Toronto. Two live in the States now, and mostly tour up and down the Eastern seaboard. They barely play Canada at all. since I've been following them, they've only played Toronto twice because they don't make enough to play up here.

@@indigoiris Laughs. It's a long story. And a dumb and not very interesting one at that! You sure you want to hear it?
Also I listen to their music. I like their music. I've been listening to it for a very long time (longer than you certainly). I'm just not particularly interested in trying to learn about the band member's personal lives. I'm not interested in learning about the personal lives of any musicians or bands that I listen to. So I know very little about them. But I know their songs and their sound!

@@wakawakatakeover one of the reasons I know so much about them is I've been good friends with Craig the bagpiper since I was 10. We lost touch during our high school years, then he contacted me a number of years back during the Jubilee Riots phase.
