Yeah one of the best crying scenes ever filmed. Chris is absolutely right at no point did this feel like characters in a film but real people living their lives.
I just got back from seeing this movie. I have to admit that I had reservations. The trailer didn't grab me. But, the movie was fantastic. A couple edits were abrupt. But, overall a very moving experience. Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were excellent.
SPOILERS : I had the same reaction to the editing, then slowly accepted it as a commentary on being a celebrity : the noise and fans suddenly replaced by silence and loneliness, time flashing by from event to event... then i witnessed the last abrupt one at the end ( cutting back to him singing the song ) And I applauded in my head as it all made sense and felt rewarded.
The man that was sitting next to me and my aunt in the theater held hands with us at the end and cried the whole last 15 minutes.. we didn’t know him.. he was just that emotional he needed a friend. The movie clearly deserved an A+ in my opinion. Phenomenal.
Aron Rudner-Stokell I watched This movie two days ago and This movie is remake of the Bollywood movie "Aashiqui 2" can't believe Bradley Cooper copied the idea!

I have to give 'A Star Is Born' an A+. It is no secret that I'm a lady gaga fan so this was automatically a must see and what a treat it was! First of all, everyone in this movie was spectular. Everyone seemed so real and natural. Nothing felt forced or awkward. It seemed like a normal conversation or documentary was taken place. I would say the music was good, nothing too amazing... with the exception of 'Shallow' and 'Is That Alright?" which was out of this world in my opinion. I will say go in with tissues and lots of them. I cried my eyes out. While this movie is beautiful, it's also beautifully heartbreaking. I will be so disappointed if this doesn't win something at the Oscars as it is some wonderful work by all actors involved. It's a must see for everyone!
Do you know the story of the movie is really similar to a bollywood film...just with different minor plot details...exept that they did a really good job with direction and acting
Tommy T. Yeah this should have been an A+. I agree with the ring scene feeing quite rushed but that didn’t take away from the movie for me. Still a masterpiece and one of if not the best movie of the year so far

I rarely cry watching a movie. But this one, this one made me tear up more than once. Absolutely beautiful movie. It’s been a while since I’ve been so touched. Just amazing.
Chris, I just found this about the scene you mentioned of Sam Elliott in the car, makes it even more brilliant that it wasn't even intentional acting. "In a recent interview, Elliott revealed that in one such scene, a particularly striking acting choice from Cooper-a stammering revelation delivered to Bobby after getting out of his pickup truck-was improvised. The subsequent shot, of a teary-eyed Bobby backing out of the driveway, was an accident. That’s where I was at the moment.”
I can relate to his alcoholism, I’m only 28 but I threw away an international rugby career and collegiate rugby career due to alcohol but sober now. Still kills me at times.
Really good movie excellent performances maybe the second best film of the year (behind A Quite Place) , but Chris is right some major character development moments were rushed the film and the characters needed some time to breath that’s why it’s A-
Let's be honest, while the previous ones were alright, they definitely could have been better. The music industry and culture has changed so much that thus film feels fresh and relevant still.
The scene where it cuts from Gaga flying to, and entering the concert to the build up of the song on stage with the drums was INCREDIBLE. One of the best concert scenes ever.
I miss the times where Chris was genuinely enthusiastic about reviewing/talking about movies. Now he seems like a full-on "critic" who has been tired of seeing disappointing movies for a long time. I want the dude from Ohio who just friggin loves movies back.
rodri larvesta when you see a lot of bad movies back to back, that will do that to you. That’s why most film critics are so harsh on films today. They have gotten sick and frustrated with some of the lazy films Hollywood has put out and they see anywhere near 3-4 films a week in a year and the audience wonders why they are so hard on “passable popcorn movies”
I was thinking the same thing he looks bored and depressed while being monotonous what happened to the guy who was excited and passionate to review movies he’s starting to loose my interest
I've got no time for Gaga's music generally, but it's great to see so many people being so positive about her performance here. I'll definitely be seeing this.
Her back catalogue is quite impressive now. A decade into her career, she’s become a pop chameleon. I’m continually impressed with her output especially in the last two years. A Star Is Born was fantastic, and Gaga’s efforts towards the music and the film itself definitely are worthy of an Oscar.
why? If there's nothing but joy from watching a movie, there's not much to say except the things that made the film great, and you hardly have any bad things to mention. Long reviews usually indicate there's a lot of stuff to discuss about
Adam Pickles I enjoy these shorter reviews because I tend to just watch these videos to get an overall idea of if I want to see the movie or not. But if you were more interested in film as a subject I can see why you’d want it to be more in depth.
Yeah I recently rewatched his Halloween II review and he said in the video that he would review all the Halloween movies leading up to the new one starting in March. Guess he forgot or didn't have time
For someone who (to my knowledge) doesn't have a musical background, Cooper sold his performance as a musician. I forgot I was watching Bradley Cooper from the moment he started singing (which is the first scene in the movie). Really well done acting on all accounts. And I can't stop listening to the soundtrack! They added songs that weren't in the movie. It's so good.
You nailed it on the head with this review. Bradley's acting was so good and made the the story of a tortured artist dealing with his demons, feel very real. Gaga did amazing as well. Very emotionally impactful movie
The performance I was surprised by was Andrew Dice Clay. My wife didn’t realize it was him until His name came up in the credits at the end of the film. A very genuine performance from The Diceman.
That scene when Jack said to his brother "It was you I idolised, it wasn't dad" is the best acting I saw last year, so out-of-nowhere and powerful I think it's the only 2018 film where I let a tear out (besides maybe that one scene in A Quiet Place i'm ngl), and then that ending cut during the performance JEEZ; this film was Bradley Cooper's Whiplash (I won't say it's as good as Whiplash because it's not but you get what I mean)
The reason Bradley Cooper was so emotional during his "Inside The Actor's Studio" interview is because he studied at that school. James Lipton was his former teacher and you can even find Cooper in many Q&A sessions in the end of various episodes asking for advice by the very people he would later share the screen with (the Robert DeNiro episode for example)
You hit this review right on the mark. That scene you talked about with Sam Elliot is so powerful. I've scene actors cry on screen before but that facial expression beforehand I've never seen portrayed with such accuracy. However I will say what you didn't mention enough is Lady's Gaga's actual acting performance is quite amazing even beyond the signing parts. Bradley Cooper structured an incredible film here. Never mind being his directorial debut. This is a movie that's good for the soul & everyone should see it! My rating 9/10.
I agree the ring scene was like WHAT but I appreciated how low key it was. From intro to that point the movie was high on emotion and passion and that was a breather for us because there was more that came y'all know that LOL!
I think that the scene is cute in it self for being low key. but I think the problem is that there is no real build up to that scene for us to understand that their relationship where at that level...
saw it... got watery eyed a few times.. watching and hearing them sing those songs, just wow you can feel it that they poured their heart and soul into it. a must see!!
The scene where Bradley called Stefani "Just ugly" was as said in an interview with Elle, a non scripted moment and the hardest of his career to shoot, you can see it in his face
I just watched this today and it was amazing! Cooper, gaga and Elliot were fantastic.the directing and music were superb. this is definitely going to be on my top 10 list for 2018. I'm really rooting for this film at the Oscars. the ending especially took me by surprise and I'll admit I cried. loved the characters and story. A+ is my grade.
I was worried this film would be over sentimental fluff, but there's like zero of that. He keeps it streamline without any hammy melodrama, just lets the story speak for itself without trying to manipulate you. I appreciated that.
My husband I saw it last night. It’s funny because we had the exact same critiques. He didn’t covey the passing of time very well and the ring scene seemed very rushed and probably the most unrealistic scene of the movie. I feel like everything in the movie happened very quickly, from their romance, to bringing her on stage to sing a song they never rehearsed before, to how quickly everything happened for her career. Overall it was a great movie, but I wish I would have seen it before I heard all the hype about it and i wish he would have taken more time to let things develop. It did have a very real life quality about it. Like you stated, it didn’t seem like they were acting.
2:38 That's why I am in LOVE with Stuchmann reviews... I LOVE you man!!! I was involved emotionally watching several moments in that movie, but THAT car scene which lasted for a few seconds really made me cry like a baby!!! Sam is a great actor!! he IS actually in the list of nominees this morning and I hope he wins!!
I hope this film wins Best Picture because it so deserves it. Absolutely loved this film. I was so emotional and dramatic, and has such amazing character development. Both Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, and Sam Elliott give the best performances. Just wish the ending would have been better.
I guess if they’re half-brothers it makes more sense, just when I hear the term brother on its own I immediately think same parents. I’m man enough to say that’s my b
I love that every comment in the First Man video was "WHERE'S A STAR IS BORN" and if you can tell by the Whiplash in the background and the shirt, he recorded both in the same day.
Yooo this movie was goood and shotout to Bradley for staring directing and producing if he had anything to do with the writing, man this role and this movie will set him apart from many other actors out there dude did a great job and yes Sam Elliot doesn't have to do much to be great, that guys voice is excellent for the role!👍🏽👍🏽
Wow, I said the same exact thing about Sam Elliott and that scene after his brother told him he idolized him. Completely blown away and I started to feel the same way his character did immediately.
I feel the story wasn’t just meandering...it was weak. Reviewers seem to be refusing to say that the story just isn’t that great. It’s an interesting movie but if the actors weren’t who they are then no one would care. Point blank.
I loved Elliot's scene too. I hate it when actors have to cry and scream, or show very over the top emotions, in order to deliver a "good" performance. Sometimes you don't need all that drama, sometimes it is better not to say anything, let your eyes get soaked in tears but show the audience you're trying to hold them back. And I truly believed he was trying NOT to cry, instead of the other way around. But I think that Bradley deserves an Oscar too, this is his best work so far.
Thank you for pointing out that Sam elliot scene in the truck. As soon as they show, you can feel everything in that moment. I feel like he isnt getting enough credit for his role
Just watched this. So glad you picked up on Sam Elliott. I too thought he was fantastic in this and feared it may go under appreciated but with guys like you highlighting it, hopefully not. And the scene you referenced where he reverses, I was in bits, brilliant, powerful scene. Overall, I thought the film was great. Nothing flashy from a directorial point but I liked that he kept it simple as the timeless story doesn't need it. Both leads were excellent, particularly Gaga. And what a voice that woman has. I have to say, she's gained a fan from this film.
my biggest complaint with this film would probably be the lack of set up for important story beats. Like with about 30 mins to go while Jack is in rehab he tells the story of how he attempted suicide when he was younger, they wouldn't bring this up unless it was important later so it was pretty obvious he was going to attempt it again about 20 mins later. And when Dave Chapelle's character helps Jack out we have had no mention of him but we are to believe they are best friends and Jack holds him in a very high regard even though he's never mentioned him.
Very moving film - absolutely loved it! Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga (who knew?) absolutely knocked this one out of the park! I’d be very surprised if this movie doesn’t pick up any Acadamy awards in all the major categories!
Okay the first hour of the movie is pretty good and promising but after that it's just going downhill, so many silent moments with no music on, choppy editing, and unimpressed ending. Gaga' voice is really good tho
That scene with Sam Elliott in the car is so gut-wrenching. I was hoping you’d mention it. And I too will be very disappointed if he doesn’t at least get nominated.
For starters, I'm a huge Gaga fan. It all started when I viewed her live-acoustic-studio-version of Poker Face back in the day. Her talent was the reason I watched this film. The movie had it's moments. The first half hour was awesome! It dragged a bit in the middle. The whole Dave Chappelle scene was a joke. I feel it was put in there to attract a particular audience and was unnecessary. The editing during the middle part of the film needed work. I felt the movie ran about 20 minutes too long. The last half hour was great. Jack coming out of rehab and reconciling with his brother, his apology to his wife, and the incredibly sad relapse, were epic. The suicide scene was heartfelt. Lastly, the final song by Ms. Gaga was outstanding!
I thought it started out great. But then it just kinda rushed through the rest of the story. I agree with Chris when he said that time passes in the movie and you’re not even aware of it. I’ll have to see it again, but it didn’t seem like it had the depth needed for some of its more powerful scenes, which it did have. I got chills during some parts of it. The ending scene probably being the most powerful, IMO. I just wasn’t super-invested because I don’t think they explored the characters/relationship enough. Maybe due to time passing too fast? Idk. I’ll have to watch it again sometime I guess.
Judy's version will always be the greatest. Second is this one, fantastic movie. 3rd place with Janet Gaynor, good film. Streisand's version is kind of boring.
You compare two veeeeeryyy different genres of films. One is way harder to make good. Venom that is. But for this film right here, they just found the best people to do the job, they were outstanding, and I never expected Lady Gaga to be so good on a role.
I agree 100% about Sam Elliot. He was just amazing. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did because I hate remakes but Bradley Cooper did a great job directing it. The ending blew me away.
Cooper did an awesome job directing this movie. He did so many things right. If u need to know more about alcoholism, or just plain wanna see Gaga light up the screen, this movie is for you. What's funny is that I knew Dice was gonna be in this film, but totally forgot while watching. He was hardly recognizable as Ally's father, and I loved the relationship between those two. I also liked that Cooper brought in all those stand-up comics into the mix (Chappelle, Dice, Eddie Griffin, Luenell) and even Chappelle's daughter, Sanaa. For a third remake of A Star Is Born, it's definitely a crowd pleaser both musically and emotionally. I was unprepared for how much I enjoyed this rendition
After seeing this movie. It was one of the few times I bought the soundtrack right away. I'm not the biggest Lady Gaga fan or OCD on her with her big fan online following but she was great in this movie. It's ironic when this movie came out in February 2018, I watched the Judy Garland A Star is Born version then a few months later this came out my first reaction was you got to be kidding me its being remade. But little did I know and it did not occur to me at the time this was the 3rd remake and it's been remade 3 times. I still want to see the 1937 A Star is Born and maybe the Barbara Stresssand 70s version for curiosity. At first hesitant on the 2018 remake when it came out it got great reviews, and I was shocked went to go see it my jaw dropped like wow this was much better than I expected. The songs were great. I liked shallow, and maybe it's time.
As soon as you mentioned Sam Elliot's potential for a best supporting actor nomination, I was hoping you'd talk about the car scene. It was so powerful.
So you’re telling me this’s a movie directed by and starring Rocket Racoon with Lady Gaga about a country rock singer...and it’s actually good?!?!! I think I need to go lay down for a bit...
James Bond Super Fan Believe me, I’m a bit too old to be considered a kid and watch more than MCU movies. I only added the Rocket Raccon part as a joke.
Am I one of the only people who didn’t like this movie at all? The relationship felt rushed, the pacing felt slow, and overall I didn’t really think the plot was all that good. I have become sort of a film snob (I blame A-List, I see probably too many movies now), so maybe I’ve ruined movies for myself. I agree the actors did great, Gaga’s songs were good, but there’s nothing that wants me to watch it again.
PickerPlayer4 exactly thank you! I didn’t even shed a tear during this movie. The characters weren’t fleshed out at all so I had no reason to feel connected to them and cry when he died. The pacing was sooo off I had no idea how much time had passed in their relationship and I personally felt there was no depth to his suicide at the end. The movie was filled with cliches and ran way to long. For the run time they could have included much more detail. I’m really sad because the actors were great and the visuals were beautiful but the storyline was lacking
Why do we have to love every popular movie? The same thing happen to me almost every Oscar season , because people love some awful and overrated movies (Gravity, Birdman, just pop to my mind). A Star Is Born is the movie of this year. Really rushed the story of the girl. She met him one time and dump her job and fell in love in one minute, few scenes later both get married and she won 3 grammys. Really a bad directed movie. I only gave 3 out a 10 for a few songs. Truly overrated like Birdman and Gravity in the other years.
I saw this in dolby digital. It felt like it added so much. It felt like I was there at the concerts and the contrast that it added to the lighting made the cinematography even more amazing
So I guess I’m the only one on the planet that thinks this film is overrated. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good movie and Lady Gaga was awesome... just a tad overrated. People are acting like this is the greatest thing ever.
The promo stills from this film are the first time I’ve ever seen Gaga actually look attractive. God only knows how long that woman had to sit in a makeup chair during the film shoot.
“It was you who I idolized. Not Dad...” -Sam Elliot drives away crying. My heart broke man.
I teared up at "He loved the way you see it".
The best part
Janos Sario thanks for the spoilers
Sam really captivates in his scenes
:(
I agree, Sam Elliot backing up with his car, will break your heart.
Great scene!
Why?
Did you see the film or not?
Great cast great talent.
The emotion on his face is why. Watch the scene and it will break you.
Cooper's scene at the rehab clinic when he cried was some tremendous acting.
It honestly made me cry, he felt like a broken man and sold it very well
That was the scene of the year for me.
Yeah one of the best crying scenes ever filmed. Chris is absolutely right at no point did this feel like characters in a film but real people living their lives.
The scene in the movie where he was holding that fake baby was his best acting.
For me his best acting was the scene in the woods at the end of place beyond the pines. I really felt that.
The car shot was heart wrenching. Great acting indeed.
No lie, I started tearing when Chris reminded me of it. Beautiful shot
I don't think I'd ever seen Sam emotional in a movie before. Great moment.
Musicosis, omg yes, that one scene made cry harder than I've ever cried before
Musicosis Perfect execution
i'm really happy that Chris acknowledged that... like when Sam Elliot looked back and his eyes.. unbelievable
Bradley Cooper is SO amazing. He came up doing random comedy movies but is such a talent in every way.
I agree = === he's so good
Yeah it is the worst, he is too talented
Yeah, I fell in love with his character! After watching the film I'm glad that it's just a movie and Bradley is still with us 😂

VFX Todd I agree. I usually don't cry at movies but I was bawling
That was my only complaint, the editing was all over the place
I like the fact that they let us fill in the blanks.
I agree on both fronts. The trailers did this film no justice and the film editing was subpar. Also, the movie was too long.

Nothere27 a remake of a remake of a remake to be exact
Let's be honest, while the previous ones were alright, they definitely could have been better. The music industry and culture has changed so much that thus film feels fresh and relevant still.
Its actually a remake of a remake of the remake of the original.
Just for your info.
+Jeremy Bocquet they weren't just alright, they were great( the 37 and 54 version)
It’s not only good, it’s fantastic.
The scene where it cuts from Gaga flying to, and entering the concert to the build up of the song on stage with the drums was INCREDIBLE. One of the best concert scenes ever.
This was a very good movie. Bradley Cooper really nailed playing an alcoholic.
Hell no! Poorly acted.
I miss the times where Chris was genuinely enthusiastic about reviewing/talking about movies. Now he seems like a full-on "critic" who has been tired of seeing disappointing movies for a long time. I want the dude from Ohio who just friggin loves movies back.
I know especially the last few weeks he seems really down
I know right? On his review for First Man He seemed and sounded a bit disappointed when he gave the film his grade.
rodri larvesta when you see a lot of bad movies back to back, that will do that to you.
He has also gained some weight lately too.
I've got no time for Gaga's music generally, but it's great to see so many people being so positive about her performance here. I'll definitely be seeing this.
He music is fantastic.
Isn't that Aphex Twin?
@@Den.Vos.Reynaerde Sure is. That probably goes quite a long way to explaining why I disagree with Earthsgeomancer.
@@tehpickle1250 Yeah, I have a 'Chosen Lord' record somewhere. Do you know it? It's a side project. I quite like him.
Her back catalogue is quite impressive now. A decade into her career, she’s become a pop chameleon. I’m continually impressed with her output especially in the last two years. A Star Is Born was fantastic, and Gaga’s efforts towards the music and the film itself definitely are worthy of an Oscar.
What felt rushed is this review. A movie this good deserves longer than 4 minutes.
why? If there's nothing but joy from watching a movie, there's not much to say except the things that made the film great, and you hardly have any bad things to mention. Long reviews usually indicate there's a lot of stuff to discuss about
I agree! Chris is slacking lately on his reviews.
Adam Pickles I enjoy these shorter reviews because I tend to just watch these videos to get an overall idea of if I want to see the movie or not. But if you were more interested in film as a subject I can see why you’d want it to be more in depth.
It's a well known plot. He usually spends several minutes just doing a synopsis of the story, but there's no point if everyone already knows the plot.
Adam Pickles agreed
Where are those Halloween reviews? :(
..too many sequels lol..
I bet he just didn’t feel like watching them again.
maybe he'll wait and post the review video on october 31st
Please review MANDY!
André Delfino yee
My rating 9/10.
that garage scene gets me every time 😢
I saw this movie on Saturday...and LOVED IT!
I left my theater struggling to hold back tears
I agree the ring scene was like WHAT but I appreciated how low key it was. From intro to that point the movie was high on emotion and passion and that was a breather for us because there was more that came y'all know that LOL!
I think that the scene is cute in it self for being low key. but I think the problem is that there is no real build up to that scene for us to understand that their relationship where at that level...
I thought it was going to be some stupid sappy movie, and it really surprised me. It's a great movie.
saw it... got watery eyed a few times.. watching and hearing them sing those songs, just wow you can feel it that they poured their heart and soul into it. a must see!!
This movie is fantastic definitely in my top 5 movie's of the year.
You’re so right about some of the rushed transitions! Although I did LOVE this movie! I’ve been listening to the soundtrack non stop lately!
FINALLY.
Seen it a few days ago and it MADE me cry
I hope this film wins Best Picture because it so deserves it. Absolutely loved this film. I was so emotional and dramatic, and has such amazing character development. Both Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, and Sam Elliott give the best performances. Just wish the ending would have been better.
Wait, Sam Elliot is supposed to be Bradley cooper’s brother? Isn’t he like 75 and Cooper is like 40? That just seems very odd to me
There's a reason behind that in the movie. It's jarring, but makes sense why that's the case, and why he is so important to Coopers life.
Its explained in the movie
in the film its explained that they have different fathers
Brothers from different mothers
Yep. Bad movie that everyone seems to like cause had a couple of great songs.
Pace was pretty off
3.5 out a 10
I loved Elliot's scene too.
What’s the best film everyone’s seen this year? I would say Blindspotting
A quiet place and ready player one
I really like annihilation
Brilliant My personal favourite this year is avengers infinity War
A quiet place and mi fallout
ready player one, fallout
Thank you for pointing out that Sam elliot scene in the truck. As soon as they show, you can feel everything in that moment. I feel like he isnt getting enough credit for his role
FINALLY! My favorite movie of the year being reviewed by my favorite reviewer!
2:45 Yep! That moment when he's pulling back in reverse with those swelled up red eyes.... yep.
I am begging for a Sam Elliot supporting actor nomination. Also the ring at the dinner table is very intentionally rushed-
Just watched this.
Not just the end of his career due to being an alcoholic - people forget that his hearing was getting much worse.
my biggest complaint with this film would probably be the lack of set up for important story beats.
It's also hard to see lady gaga and that she's not wearing over the top clothes. I had no idea she was actually attractive
she was actually in the Sopranos as an extra.
you are so late, she's not doing the crazy outfits for a long time
My only problem was that this film shoulda had a longer run time, the beginning was slow but good then shit just starts flying
Chris. What happened to the halloween rewiews you sad your gonna do between march and october.
Mowhoknow A while back Chris mentioned that he’s taking classes at film school.
@Mowhoknow Hes also in school now...
Mowhoknow you’re an entitled little fuck
Film school, lol
TheMightyKenwyneJones it’s still school
Very moving film - absolutely loved it! Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga (who knew?) absolutely knocked this one out of the park! I’d be very surprised if this movie doesn’t pick up any Acadamy awards in all the major categories!
Favorite movie of the year so far, blew me away!
Loved it. I had to fight back tears several times in this. Every actor in here was incredible.
Okay the first hour of the movie is pretty good and promising but after that it's just going downhill, so many silent moments with no music on, choppy editing, and unimpressed ending. Gaga' voice is really good tho
Yep. The movie was mediocre at best. Only few songs made some good. Truly has no pace at all.
I'll give 3.5/10 only for some Gaga songs.
That scene with Sam Elliott in the car is so gut-wrenching. I was hoping you’d mention it. And I too will be very disappointed if he doesn’t at least get nominated.
Still no A+ this year.
Fingers crossed on Bohemian Rhapsody.
Judging by the trailer, I bet it won't be an A+
From the trailer i think it will be decent not great
If Climax doesn’t get an A+ nothing will
Thinking that will get a c
Hostiles deserved an A+. Don't know if Chris reviewed it. It came out early in the year.
Wait, why was it A-? I didn’t hear you say anything negative about the film.
Jedidiah Elias He basically said pacing issues. A- is a must watch though.
“There’s one scene with a ring..”
I was really suprised by Bradley freaking Cooper ripping that guitar. I was like "WOW"
How does it stand up to the Janet Gaynor's , Judy Garland's or Barbra Streisand's version. I think Barbra's version is the weakest.
Judy's version will always be the greatest. Second is this one, fantastic movie. 3rd place with Janet Gaynor, good film. Streisand's version is kind of boring.
The dog waiting outside the garage got me
Aka the 10x times better film this week than Venom
You compare two veeeeeryyy different genres of films. One is way harder to make good. Venom that is. But for this film right here, they just found the best people to do the job, they were outstanding, and I never expected Lady Gaga to be so good on a role.
Not to me
Dankest Media Group that's like comparing infinity war with shrek
Why the fuck are ya comparing this with Venom
Venom was a fun, messy, superhero movie (with some comedy) and A Star is born is a great, emotional drama.
Bradley was amazing
Gaga was amazing
Sam was amazing
THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING
As soon as you mentioned Sam Elliot's potential for a best supporting actor nomination, I was hoping you'd talk about the car scene. It was so powerful.
So you’re telling me this’s a movie directed by and starring Rocket Racoon with Lady Gaga about a country rock singer...and it’s actually good?!?!!
I think I need to go lay down for a bit...
Crono Sapien you're a kid who only watches MCU movies...
James Bond Super Fan Believe me, I’m a bit too old to be considered a kid and watch more than MCU movies. I only added the Rocket Raccon part as a joke.
@@michaelneilvalencia2205 I watch MCU movies I also watched a star is born and loved it.
You clearly dont know who she is
Paunz296 I do, actually. I’ve just always thought her more as a weird music star rather than an actor.
U are right. Sam Elliott was amazing. I never saw him like that.
THANK YOU for singling out that ring moment. GaGa's character lost some quality there for me. Overall still wonderful.
Andrew Dice Clay deserves mention as well. He was nearly unrecognizable and knocked his role of her dad out of the park.
Dylan Dangler agree. I saw it tonight and felt it was very average.
I agree Elliot will get best supporting. I feel Gaga should get best actress - I was really impressed with her.
Chris you should review Mandy and get the word out!
If they gave an Oscar to Maharshalla Ali, Sam Elliot deserves a nomination for this
Star was born in chris.
The promo stills from this film are the first time I’ve ever seen Gaga actually look attractive. God only knows how long that woman had to sit in a makeup chair during the film shoot.
